You might need a bit of additional script to see the access date errors. My understanding is that cites that have a hard copy, such as books and journals don't require an access date. Regards CV9933 (talk) 09:51, 12 February 2016 (UTC)

The error was Boston_Globe_2003 reference - which we defined "twice" in the reference list with different details. It was nothing to do with accessdates - per se. This is resolved, waht are you seeing now then? :: Kevinalewis : ^{(Talk Page)}/_(Desk) 11:04, 12 February 2016 (UTC)

Hi Kevin,- Yes my main fix was the duplicate reference but what I was also seeing was a sea of red access dates that require a url see this.Hence my tongue in cheek reference to the red drive signal on your monitor. I think you either need some additional script or need to have something like "show hidden categories" enabled in the appearance setting of your preferences to see the same thing that I am. Looks better and I appreciate the effort you made there, I am slowly working my way through this list of duplicate references, so when I find a page full of that particular kind of CS1 error, I resort to "If the citation does not use a web link, then |access-date= is redundant and should be removed". Jewish Quarterly

Hi Kevin,

This periodical is currently titled "Jewish Quarterly" as per your edit to a reference in Gerda Mayer. But the 1996 edition referenced was at that time still titled "The Jewish Quarterly". I have a copy in front of me and the style "The Jewish Quarterly" is used on the front cover, the contents page and throughout the magazine. The same is true of a second (unedited) reference to a 1989 edition.

I couldn't find a Wikipedia policy on this but I feel it is more accurate to use the contemporary styling rather than the current one. What do you reckon? Thanks, David.

Hmm interesting one. I hear what you are saying. We are really caught between contemporary consistency and individual publication consistency (i.e. ability to refer to the one publication so we all know it "is" the same). Confusingly this is a more straightforward case that is often present. Journals which are actually completely different publications have identical name. Also they often cease a run and then restart, using something like a suffix (e.g. New series) only for that to fall into disuse later once the 'newness' has been forgotten; yet it may even have started to reuse volume numbering from the past. Sigh... it's complicated.

Additionally we have numbers of editors working through Wikipedia:WikiProject_Academic_Journals attempting to bring some sanity to the referencing usage and making use of working pages such as Wikipedia:WikiProject_Academic_Journals/Journals_cited_by_Wikipedia. :: Kevinalewis : ^{(Talk Page)}/_(Desk) 08:19, 7 April 2016 (UTC)

Dispensationalism/ Preterism

The definition page used to be very good until preterists found it and found that they could add or edit. Their view of the term is recent, silly, and corrupted yet obsessive and persistent. Futurism, preterism, eschatology has little or nothing to do with what dispensationalism is. Anyone who has spent years discussing or debating Christian doctrines such as I have has heard the term many times and knows how it is and was used. Dispensationalists and their doctrine must remain the main authority on the definition since they created the word.

I honestly have little ability to understand this site or how it works but I do know that the goal should be to have definitions as true and informative as possible. While the grammatical should probably be corrected by someone more knowledgeable in html etc for my earlier addition of example dispensations such as adamic, noahide, mosaic, etc. these are the basics of the meaning of dispenationlism as anyone who knows dispensationalists for years should know. I was sure these basic examples were once on the page. Preterists may have removed them because it is of the real definition and contradicts their obsession about futurism. If this site mainly adjusts to a majority then preterists will get their way and totally change and corrupt the definition for their agenda and obsession. I'm not sure when I could have more time. I actually run a manufacturing company. I am not dispensationalist but dispensationalists have argued with me for years on the web and on the streets and in Christian forums over Bible law which they reject with dispensationalism being the reason why. Now preterists are calling people "dispies" or dispensationalists for believing in future prophecy and have changed the meaning to "futurist." — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.50.204.32 (talk) 19:24, 19 May 2016 (UTC)

Okay, understand! I can understand the confusion. However it is true that dispensationalist believe there is a future which is affected by Biblical prophecy and they do have a particlar take on how to understand it. Also worth mentioning that there are various different forms of dispensational understanding, what I will call classic, ultra and now progressive. Intersting their (preterists') attitude to Biblical law is one of the reasons I wouldn't out of choice call myself a dispensationalist. Also I can see interpretive value in aspects of all of these systems of thought and often find myself considering God as "larger" than all of them. However I do believe that dispensation thinking expresses a more prominent aspect of God's way of dealing with man and history than some of the others. Jack Ryan: "Ryan doctrine"

Hi, I saw that you reverted my edit for this page, specifically in regards to the section heading. I capitalized the word "Doctrine" because it refers to a specific doctrine, in keeping with the precedents mentioned within the section itself. For instance, the Wikipedia article for the Reagan Doctrine is labelled as such, with both words capitalized. If I did anything wrong, or don't know some rule, feel free to tell me. Closed AfDs

Hi! I noticed that you recently tried to re-open the now closed AfD for No Cross, No Crown with this edit. It looks like you were arguing to keep the article, however the AfD had closed with the consensus to keep the article so there was no actual need to re-open the AfD. In general AfDs should not be re-opened once they are closed and it's actually relatively rare for AfDs to be re-opened unless there's a consensus at deletion review (or with the closer) that the AfD needs to be re-opened because the discussion needs more consensus. Even then it's sometimes preferable to start a new, fresh AfD that links to the older AfD. Re-opening an AfD, especially if you are adding an argument that agrees with the close, can be seen as disruptive since closed AfDs are not supposed to be further edited. Invitation to the African Destubathon

Hi. You may be interested in participating in the African Destubathon which starts on October 15. Africa currently has over 37,000 stubs and badly needs a quality improvement editathon/contest to flesh out basic stubs. There are proposed substantial prizes to give to editors who do the most articles, and planned smaller prizes for doing to most destubs for each of the 53 African countries, so should be enjoyable! So it would be a good chance to win something for improving stubs on African sportspeople, including footballers, athletes, Olympians and Paralympians etc, particularly female ones, but also male. Even if contests aren't your thing we would be grateful if you could consider destubbing a few African articles during the drive to help the cause and help reduce the massive 37,000 + stub count, of which many are rated high importance (think Regions of countries etc). If you're interested in competing or just loosely contributing a few expanded articles on African Paralympians, Olympians and committees etc, please add your name to the Contestants/participants section.
