Speedy deletion nomination of File:Conceptual rendering - vertiport.png
editA tag has been placed on File:Conceptual rendering - vertiport.png requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the file appears to be a blatant copyright infringement of https://www.portsanantonio.us/Tech-Port-Vision-22. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
If the image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use it — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. – Pbrks (t • c) 14:49, 17 June 2022 (UTC)

Hello Jrosales080878. The nature of your edits, such as the one you made to Port San Antonio, gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.
Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are extremely strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.
Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Jrosales080878. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Jrosales080878|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}
. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. – Pbrks (t • c) 00:31, 19 June 2022 (UTC)
As previously advised, your edits, such as the edit you made to Port San Antonio, give the impression you have a financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. You were asked to cease editing until you responded by either stating that you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits, or by complying with the mandatory requirements under the Wikimedia Terms of Use that you disclose your employer, client and affiliation. Again, you can post such a disclosure on your user page at User:Jrosales080878, and the template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Jrosales080878|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}
. Please respond before making any other edits to Wikipedia. – Pbrks (t • c) 15:27, 22 June 2022 (UTC)
Jrosales080878, you need to address this conflict of interest, lest I block you from editing the article altogether. Thank you, Drmies (talk) 16:46, 22 June 2022 (UTC)
- I have no professional affiliation with the entity in question. I am a San Antonio resident with several friends who are descendants of former Kelly Air Force Base enlistees. As a proud member of the San Antonio community, and a supporter of the armed forces, I have strived to update the respective article to the best of my abilities.
- I noticed that other members of the Wikipedia community have undertaken a similar task with the article devoted to Brooks AFB - another former military base in San Antonio that underwent significant redevelopment in recent years. The Port San Antonio entry was lacking in content in a way that the Brooks AFB article wasn't. However, I am admittedly not an expert with regard to making Wikipedia updates, and I have tried to stick to the editing parameters to the best of my ability (and revising as necessary).
- Please forgive my naivete with regard to the guidelines. I am merely trying to remain factual and neutral in my updates.
- Thank you.

- OK. Thanks. Rule number 1: write articles based on the information found in reliable secondary sources--that, and the promotional tone, was what was so problematic about the article. Drmies (talk) 20:33, 22 June 2022 (UTC)
- I understand. And I apologize once again. I wasn't trying to sound promotional. Going forward, I will first draft language and then have it proofread for others' input before posting.
- Thank you for bringing this to my attention. There are several other articles I wanted to contribute to as well, and I will now be extremely careful when doing so. Jrosales080878 (talk) 20:37, 22 June 2022 (UTC)
