Six Flags Fiesta Texas
editRattler / Iron Rattler
editIron Rattler is a new steel coaster using some of the previous structure of Rattler. Rattler closed on August 5 and should be listed in the previous coasters section on the Six Flags Fiesta Texas wiki page. Iron Rattler is a new ride for 2013. Please do not change my edits.JlACEer (talk) 19:49, 23 December 2012 (UTC)

- I know what Iron Rattler is and its not using "some" it is using mostly all of the original structure of Rattler. I know when Rattler closed, but its going to reopen with a new name and track so it's not going no where. Its the same ride just with a "NEW Experience" starting in 2013. Well I'm following RCDB status on Rattler/IronRattler which is saying it is still the same ride and that is how I had it on Six Flags Fiesta Texas page, so I will be changing it back. I can change anybody's edits on any page on Wikipedia, no one on here made you special than anybody else in the world. Thank you! --Jpp858 (talk) 06:03, 24 December 2012 (UTC)
- It's changing from a wood coaster to a steel coaster. All of the helix has been removed and most of the first and second drop. Everything after the tunnel will also be removed. It's not just a new experience — it is a new coaster. The way you have it listed, it looks like a John Pierce design, but John Pierce had nothing to do with the new Iron Rattler.JlACEer (talk) 00:40, 30 December 2012 (UTC)
- From RCDB.com: "The Rattler closed on 8/4/2012, prior to the end of the season, so work could get underway for the Rattler to Iron Rattler conversion. During this conversion all the wooden track was replaced with a new prefabricated steel system -- turning this former wooden roller coaster into a steel hybrid roller coaster." I've backed up my changes with solid explanations. You have continued to undo my edits without any explanation for reasons known only to you. Everyone — except you — considers this a new coaster.JlACEer (talk) 00:52, 30 December 2012 (UTC)
- I know whats happening with Iron Rattler from it changing to wood to steel. I have seen pictures and visited the park many times to know what is happening to the coaster. You don't get as what I mean about RCDB, I meant was that Duane (the owner of RCDB) does not have Rattler as a Former coaster like you want it on Wikipedia. He also has Iron Rattler listed as opened since 1992, which I agree with him. So I decided that we can just push are two ideas together and put 1992/2013 and Roller Coaster Corporation of America / Rocky Mountain Construction Hybrid Coaster, so everybody can be happy! --Jpp858 (talk) 05:42, 30 December 2012 (UTC)
The article Boardwalk Canyon Blaster has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- Roller coaster that never existed, not notable
While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Hairhorn (talk) 03:50, 3 January 2010 (UTC)

Wikipedia Policies
editI have reverted several of your recent edits because they are against several of Wikipedia's policies. Please review the reliable source policy and the copyright violation policy. I have reverted all your edits to pages other than Six Flags Fiesta Texas (which has confirmation on official website) because Screamscape is not considered a reliable source, your sentence doesn't make sense, some information in that sentence is irrelevant to particular parks (not all have Tony Hawk), and the sentence is copied directly off Screamscape. Please take the time to make good contributions which are not in violation of any of these policies and that make sense. Thanks Themeparkgc Talk 00:12, 20 November 2010 (UTC)

License tagging for File:Sparkler (Holiday World) - promo.jpg
editThanks for uploading File:Sparkler (Holiday World) - promo.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information.

Speedy deletion nomination of Bonzai Pipeline
editIf this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Bonzai Pipeline, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. AllyD (talk) 09:50, 18 December 2011 (UTC)

editHi. When you recently edited 2012 Mississippi State Bulldogs football team, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Veterans Memorial Stadium (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Deletion notifications
editHi Jpp,
You recently received a message about either "Articles for Deletion" or "Proposed Deletion" of an article you created. I'd like to ask you a few quick questions, so that we can try to improve those notices in a WikiProject I work with:
- Was the message helpful? Were the instructions clear and easy to follow?
- If not, how do you think the message could be improved?
- What do you think about the deletion process in general? Do you understand how to contest a deletion?
Feel free to answer here or send me your response by email (swalling wikimedia.org). I won't quote you or link your answers to your username if you don't feel comfortable with that. Your feedback is incredibly useful for improving the content of deletion notifications, so please take a minute to think about and answer these questions.

Cosmic Coaster
editHi, I have noticed you are updating the Cosmic Coaster page. I see that they are two different coasters, the only think they have in common is the name. I think the article would be better off if it was just for the Worlds of Fun version and you converted this article, Dragon Coaster (Dorney Park), to the Valleyfair version. Tell me what you think. --Astros4477 (talk) 01:30, 18 February 2012 (UTC)
- I was just going to bring this up as well. I would suggest that the Dragon Coaster (Dorney Park) article be moved to Cosmic Coaster (Valleyfair) and the Cosmic Coaster article moved to Cosmic Coaster (Worlds of Fun) with a disambiguation page created at Cosmic Coaster after the links are updated. Themeparkgc Talk 05:36, 18 February 2012 (UTC)

Mr. Freeze
editNow that Mr. Freeze: Reverse Blast has been confirmed, we do have another issue before us. Is this modification permanent? If it was, then I would agree that a name-change would be in order. However, if it isn't, this could create confusion. We need to discuss this before actually doing it, since per WP:MOVE this might be considered controversial. If consensus is for the move, I'm all for it, but it should be discussed first, not just done unilaterally. June 2012
editHi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you recently tried to give Bluegrass Boardwalk a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into another page with a different name. This is known as a "cut and paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is needed for attribution and various other purposes. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.
In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page. This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Cut and paste move repair holding pen. Thank you. editHi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited 2013 Mississippi State Bulldogs football team, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page War Memorial Stadium (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). License tagging for File:Six Flags New England 2 logo.png
editThanks for uploading File:Six Flags New England 2 logo.png. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information.
To add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia. Medusa Steel Coaster
editHi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give Medusa (Six Flags México) a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into Medusa Steel Coaster. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution.
Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Cut-and-paste-move repair holding pen. Thank you. Edit-a-thon for Ramona Park
editHello-
I am working with the East Grand Rapids or EGR MI Public Library as they embark on a GLAM project. We are planning an edit-a-thon for October 19 in the afternoon, to improve Ramona Park.
East Grand Rapids was the home to Ramona Park and to the Jack Rabbit Derby Racer [1]. The Library is home to a local history room - a room filled to the ceiling with memorabilia, photos and artifacts from Ramona Park.
The plan is to upload some of this material via Commons (hopefully before the edit-a-thon - coincidentally during Wikipedia Loves Libraries month), and improve the EGR related articles.
One problem - there are few locally evident Wikipedia editors to actually show up at the library for an edit-a-thon.
If this is of interest, we can make arrangements for you to remote in. There is a possibility of a cool tee-shirt [2] donated by the library, too!
The library might be able to provide you/this project with a preview of the historical materials - it seems to me there might be more than one article to create.
Also I've come up with a DYK candidate: Did you know that President Gerald Ford worked at Ramona Park, home to one of three derby racers in the US? (The Ford part is true, not quite sure of the derby racer stat, though!)
Thanks for your consideration, Bdcousineau (talk) 00:31, 9 September 2013 (UTC)
Hi Jpp, I see you've been active on a bunch of those articles. This is just a heads-up that I've had to remove tons of information from those articles and revdel a lot of their histories since a serial copyvioer has been quite active there, copying and pasting notes on individual games from various websites. So don't be surprised if you find that they've been gutted. Thank you, Drmies (talk) 14:20, 22 October 2013 (UTC)
- Thank you Drmies for doing that. And if you would of looked through the history you would of seen that I did not add those articles on the page. --Jpp858 (talk) 03:25, 23 October 2013 (UTC)
- Sure. And I did look through those histories, every single one of them, and I did see that. (Why do you think I'd accuse you??) The editor who did it is now blocked, but they might be back at some point. If you ever run into something fishy in those articles, let me know please. Drmies (talk) 03:42, 23 October 2013 (UTC)

SEC Standings
editHi,
Alabama and Missouri are already division champs, because even if they lose on Saturday, they will still win a share of there divisions. Alabama because they would share a 7–1 SEC record with Auburn (Auburn would go to SEC Championship game), and Mizzou because they would share a 6–2 SEC record with South Carolina (USC would go to Atlanta). This is called "co-champions," and is what happened to Florida last year.
Cheers! BenYes? 01:09, 30 November 2013 (UTC)

WikiProject Amusement Parks Article Clean-Up
editRecently, an issue has been brought up regarding the notability of many articles within WikiProject Amusement Parks. As a result, a page has been created regarding this issue as well as a possible solution (which will be on-going). In a nut-shell, certain articles will be picked to be reviewed in each stage and the WikiProject members (you) will decide if the article should be deleted or kept based on Wikipedia's notability guidelines.
I hoping this will work and if it doesn't, oh well...I tried.
More info can be found on the linked page above.--MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:27, 21 March 2014 (UTC) Sent by Dom497
Georgia-Vanderbilt
editHey. I just wanted to give you a head's up before you put a lot more effort into this new article: it probably does not satisfy the notability guidelines per WP:NRIVALRY and WP:GNG, nor Wikiproject College Football (WP:CFB)'s precedents. In short, in order to be notable, and therefore suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia, a CFB rivalry has to have been explicitly covered as a rivalry in multiple, independent, reliable sources per WP:RS. Moreover, I don't know any SEC fans who think this a notable "rivalry"; Georgia's traditional rivals are Auburn, Florida and Georgia Tech; Vanderbilt's main rival is Tennessee, and that's been kind of lopsided in football for the last 80 years or so since Dan McGugin retired. FYI, we deleted an article for "Alabama-Florida football rivalry" last year because it had no significant coverage as a "rivalry." Dirtlawyer1 (talk) 02:53, 16 July 2014 (UTC)
- Hey. I added the Rivalry because it was already on the Georgia Bulldogs football page rivalry section. I believe any game can be a rivalry if you play a team annually for some time. The last time I check Alabama and Florida had never played annually except for 5 years in a row from 1990-1994 when they were just playing each other for the SEC Championship Game, where Vanderbilt has played the Georgia Bulldogs annually for several decades. --Jpp858 (talk) 03:13, 16 July 2014 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Southern Miss–UAB football rivalry
editThe article Southern Miss–UAB football rivalry has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- No indication this "rivalry" meets WP:GNG or WP:NRIVALRY. Unsuccessful in finding national sources that indicate this was ever considered a major "rivalry", which makes this article original research. UAB since disbanded their program, so its unlikely they will play again Delete.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Glee Heart episode scene.jpg
editThank you for uploading File:Glee Heart episode scene.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.
If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. Josh Milburn (talk) 21:25, 10 June 2015 (UTC)

The Link that directs to the official standings has it this way
editI personally agree that head-to-head to count in the standings, but MrArticleOne corrected me and gave the following explanation:
In all the time I have contributed to the college sports standings tables, the teams were ordered very simply: 1. League record, 2. Overall record, 3. Alphabetically. League tiebreakers -- particularly in football -- do not apply other than to determine first place. I am indifferent about whether teams should be listed in the order that the league tiebreakers produce for the conference tournament in basketball. MrArticleOne (talk) 13:54, 27 November 2015 (UTC)
- Yeah, I get that that's the way you've always done it, but why? I've never seen anything that states head-to-head results do not apply for teams not in first place. In the NFL playoffs, the very first tie-breaker used is head-to-head results, even if it is for the last wild-card spot. Why is it any different in NCAA? Akatheflake (talk) 21:30, 28 November 2015 (UTC)
- Because in the NFL, they need to break ties out to 6th place to determine those wild cards and how they are seeded. Those tiebreakers don't apply after that, though -- they have a separate process they use to break ties for draft order, for example. And in college football, the only tie that needs to be broken is a tie for 1st place to determine who plays in the league title game. If you read the applicable tiebreakers, it is crystal clear they only apply to 1st place by their own terms. Look at the 3rd one, for example: "The records of the three teams will be compared against the next highest placed teams in their division in order of finish (4, 5, 6, and 7)." See how it takes for granted that the next one after the tied teams is 4th? That's because the tiebreaker isn't intended to break a tie for 4th place. (I posted this on my talk page but it occurred to me I was being inconsistent, so I am cross-posting it here.) MrArticleOne (talk) 12:37, 30 November 2015 (UTC)
I just want it to be consistent. (talk) 8:24, 2 December 2015 (UTC)

Cut-and-paste renaming
editHi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give The Joker (Six Flags Great Adventure) a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into The Joker (ride). This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.
In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. Thank you. 65.94.168.229 (talk) 06:11, 23 January 2017 (UTC)

I've just tagged the page, using our page curation tools, as having some issues to fix. Sources should be independent -- not provided by the subject (in this case, the university that the team represents). Look for other media, such as newspapers, that can provide the appropriate information.

SEC Volleyball Standings
editI have moved the SEC women's volleyball standings template page to SEC Volleyball standings. Out of the D1 NCAA conferences, only the Big West sponsors men's volleyball. 2018 will be the first year the Big West has sponsored men's volleyball as all those teams previously participated in the MPSF or on the Independent slate. As a result all conferences, except for the Big West, should just say volleyball standings as they don't sponsor men's volleyball. That doesn't mean there aren't D1 schools playing men's volleyball. However they play in leagues like the MPSF (Mountain Pacific Sports Federation), MIVA (Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association), and EIVA (Eastern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association). One D2 conference (Conference Carolinas) also participates. Bigddan11 (talk) 22:46, 30 September 2017 (UTC)

WP:NSEASONS
editHello, I have redirected your pages on individual seasons to Angelo State Rams football. Per NSEASONS, for college sports, if not in the top level, an article on an individual season isn't considered necessary unless they won the national championship or there are other significant events. Speedy deletion nomination of Category:Angelo State Rams seasons
editA tag has been placed on Category:Angelo State Rams seasons requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Non-free rationale for File:Wwbokc.png
editThanks for uploading or contributing to File:Wwbokc.png. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.
If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F6 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. editThank you for your prolific contributions to wiki.
You have created 1,296 pages (92 since deleted),[3] which is amazing!
Looking at your created articles[4]
It appears you have created at least 16 college football rivalries, and unfortunately 7 are now deleted.
- Valdosta State–West Georgia football rivalry
- North Alabama–West Alabama football rivalry
- Delta State–Mississippi College football rivalry
- Houston–SMU football rivalry · (Deleted)
- Pittsburgh–Syracuse football rivalry
- Florida–South Carolina football rivalry · (Deleted)
- Georgia–Vanderbilt football rivalry
- Kentucky–Vanderbilt football rivalry (currently in AfD}
- LSU–Mississippi State football rivalry
- Missouri–Texas A&M football rivalry · (Deleted)
- Arkansas–Missouri football rivalry · (Deleted)
- Missouri–South Carolina football rivalry · (Deleted)
- East Carolina–Marshall football rivalry
- South Alabama–Troy football rivalry
- Troy–UAB football rivalry · (Deleted)
- Southern Miss–UAB football rivalry · (Deleted)
It appears the rivalry articles in current form, and with edits from other editors, heavily rely on WP:PRIMARY sources such as the universities or the athletic deptartments.
WP:NRIVALRY (from the notability policy) says Sports rivalries are not inherently notable. Articles on sports rivalries, such as Yankees–Red Sox rivalry, should satisfy the general notability guideline.
WP:GNG (policy) says, If a topic has received significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject, it is presumed to be suitable for a stand-alone article or list.
You have almost 4K edits, so this probably isn't new information to you. Understood it can be frustrating to see your efforts and time spend in good faith still result in an article being removed. Hopefully this is a friendly reminder around use of WP:RS citations to pass GNG at article creation. Cheers, UW Dawgs (talk) 19:04, 20 June 2020 (UTC)

COVID-19 cancelled games
editI started thinking about it and I agree with you that it's easier and more intuitive to just remove cancelled games from the schedule rather than cross them out. My preferred blurb above the schedule to denote this would be (using Nebraska for example):
Nebraska had games scheduled against Central Michigan, South Dakota State, and Cincinnati, but cancelled these games on July 9 due to the Big Ten Conference's decision to play a conference-only schedule due to the COVID-19 pandemic.[1]
This lets us do it in one sentence, and not have to repeat the word "cancelled". I'm planning on using this blurb for all of the cancelled games so far, and I'm guessing we'll get some more soon with the ACC and Pac-12 looking at doing something similar. Just wanted to let you know so we could be on the same page! Thanks for all your work. PCN02WPS (talk | contribs) 19:49, 10 July 2020 (UTC)

- @PCN02WPS: Yeah I agree. I was reading what had been edited on some articles and I would assume you would want the article to be an easy read for the reader. Crossing out the games, does not help the eye. Just state it in the article and take it off the schedule list. I know I went through a lot of editing, but I believe my assumption is better than having say 5 games crossed out multiple times. Also, I did redirect all the Ivy League schools's 2020 season pages to their main football page (for example, Harvard), as there is no more a "2020" football season, since it would redundant to have.--Jpp858 (talk) 19:59, 10 July 2020 (UTC)
- Just a question - do you think we should wait to make those redirects until we have confirmation that the season is cancelled? At this point I'm pretty sure that a spring season is still an option. PCN02WPS (talk | contribs) 20:03, 10 July 2020 (UTC)
- @PCN02WPS: If the season starts in the spring, I assume it would then be 2021 Harvard Crimson football team. If there is two seasons in 2021, then I would assume it would be Spring 2021 Harvard Crimson football team or 2021 Spring Harvard Crimson football team or any other type of way, that fits best. Since there is no football in "2020" there is no need for the articles. I would have them listed like we do for the teams when at World War (that didn't play) and skip the year (or Harvard's case, like 1885 season).

- I assume the same can be said to any future teams that cancel their 2020 season. --Jpp858 (talk) 20:10, 10 July 2020 (UTC)
- Personally I was assuming that it would remain "2020 season" whether or not it was played in 2021, following the same style as the 2020 Summer Olympics, 2020 Summer Paralympics, UEFA Euro 2020 (all in summer 2021). I think it would be more likely for the NCAA to just play parts of the "2020 season" in spring 2021 and then kickoff the 2021 season in August 2021 than for them to play a "spring 2021" and "fall 2021" season, especially if teams do still play in fall 2020. Regardless I think it'd be smart to leave the Ivy pages just for now, perhaps with non-conf games removed and all games with "TBA" on the dates, and maybe a little blurb about the Ivy's decision. - @PCN02WPS: I was reading the Talk:UEFA_Euro_2020#Too_soon_to_rename_it_'Euro_2021', the last comment from @Theurgist:, is what I agree with. We can have the title state "2020" if their is a 2020 spring season in 2021, but everything else like stated should be 2021 spring or Spring 2021. Then the article's title will obviously have to stay this way, but I think that prose, tables, lists, etc should be using the year 2021, especially if it's just the year that designates the tournament. We shouldn't state that events took place "in 2020" when they took place in 2021. The 1996 tournament was officially branded as "Euro 96", but we don't use just "96" to designate it. The same applies to the "2020" Olympics in Tokyo. -- Theurgist
- I totally agree with you in that we shouldn't say the games were played "in 2020" - the article should definitely acknowledge that they took place (if they indeed do) in spring 2021, besides just in the schedule table when/if the spring schedule is released. I just think we should keep the 2020 Ivy articles up in current name for the time being. PCN02WPS (talk | contribs) 21:13, 10 July 2020 (UTC)
- I'm happy to move the Ivy pages back and add some context when I have time later tonight if that's alright with you. PCN02WPS (talk | contribs) 21:39, 10 July 2020 (UTC)

Note about discussions on talk pages
editHey Jpp858, while I appreciate being notified about these discussions and enjoy pitching in where I can, just wanted to make sure you were aware of WP:APPNOTE. Notifying me directly in a recent discussion was likely acceptable, as I could be considered a "concerned editor" by the examples given. So this isn't to say there's anything wrong with pinging me directly, but you may want to also consider dropping a more generalized notification at WT:WikiProject Amusement Parks in the future. That would be a more neutral way of requesting a second opinion, and other editors watching that page may pitch in as well. Just a heads up, and thanks for helping out the project as much as you do! --GoneIn60 (talk) 04:16, 25 July 2020 (UTC)
- Sorry. I see that you are one of the most active editors in the WT:WikiProject Amusement Parks, and I've been looking for other comments for discussion about edit disputes (and I didn't know the proper measures to do so), so I've just been pinging you for quick help. I'll look into it more on how to continue on being professional as an editor. --Jpp858 (talk) 04:25, 25 July 2020 (UTC)
- No problem. If you know I've been in a similar discussion before, or the discussion is at an article I've contributed to in the past, feel free to ping me directly anytime. Just add a brief statement in the discussion letting others know the reason. Something like: "Pinging GoneIn60, who has participated in a past discussion about this" or "Pinging GoneIn60, another frequent editor at this article". I'm sure you get the idea. An editor who thinks consensus is being unfairly stacked against them could lob a canvassing claim your way, so it would be best to have your bases covered in case that happens! When in doubt, just drop a neutral notice at the WikiProject. You can also post at WP:TEA or WP:THIRD if no one's responding at the WikiProject. Plenty of veteran editors and admins at both of those forums. --GoneIn60 (talk) 05:24, 25 July 2020 (UTC)
Semantics
editHi there - just wanted to bring to your attention a minor issue I've seen with your COVID-related football cancellation edits. I'd just ask you to pay attention to semantics and wording in your edits, such as recent edits to 2020 Tarleton State Texans football team and 2020 Old Dominion Monarchs football team, where the lead now reads The 2020 Old Dominion Monarchs football team would had represented Old Dominion University
, or with teams that had games cancelled, such as 2020 Dayton Flyers football team, where your edit read Dayton had a game schedule against Southeast Missouri State on September 3
. I know these are minor things but they are still important for our readers' comprehension. Thank you! PCN02WPS (talk | contribs) 16:45, 11 August 2020 (UTC)
Why did you add citation needed tags to every election article?
editBesides these being added at the very top of the section with no clear indication what exactly you're asking to be sourced, every single poll listed has its source in the "Poll source" column with a link to the poll! There is nothing uncited in these sections. Please remove these unnecessary tags. Reywas92Talk 21:21, 27 October 2020 (UTC)
- Reywas92, I just saw this, too. There are still quite a few that need to be reverted but this must be done manually since the dates were added by a bot. This is disruptive behavior. ― Tartan357 (Talk) 01:16, 28 October 2020 (UTC)
- Tartan357 this can be done relatively easily with AWB, but this was indeed disruptive and pointless. Jpp858 should remove these themself or else apologize. Reywas92Talk 01:24, 28 October 2020 (UTC)
- Reywas92, If this was a mistake, it was indeed a pointless one. They should have taken the time to look more carefully instead of leaping to the ridiculous assumption that all polling data across the entire 2020 US elections series was unsourced. I just got done reverting them all. What's AWB? ― Tartan357 (Talk) 01:39, 28 October 2020 (UTC)
- Tartan357 Well thank you for that! It's Wikipedia:AutoWikiBrowser for performing repetitive actions, all you have to do is click save. I use the browser version User:Joeytje50/JWB, highly recommended especially if you learn the basics of regular expressions. Reywas92Talk 02:58, 28 October 2020 (UTC)
- Reywas92, RadioKAOS just reverted me with the absurd argument that including polls constitutes "advertising" and the links to the polls are "improper external links". I'm pretty sure that including polls in this way is standard across election articles. ― Tartan357 (Talk) 04:26, 28 October 2020 (UTC)
- Radio, that's absolute nuts. There's a widespread precedent to include polls this way for elections around the world. This is certainly not advertising. Reywas92Talk 04:38, 28 October 2020 (UTC)
- Reywas92, another editor apparently objects, as well. There's a discussion at Talk:2020 United States Senate election in Alaska#Polls. ― Tartan357 (Talk) 05:52, 28 October 2020 (UTC)

editSix Flags Over Texas Edits
editIn your edit summary you imply that the Six Flags Over Texas website is unreliable. Can you provide a link to the web page on the Six Flags website that says every kiddie ride goes upside down?—JlACEer (talk) 05:13, 17 December 2020 (UTC)
- Just click any kid ride page on their main website. (One Example: Bugs Bunny Cloud Bouncer) It states that the ride goes upside down as a special feature. All the rides on their website states that. I would state that the ride section/s of their website is not accurate. Even the play ground, train, antique cars all state they go upside down. I know it looks bad that I am going against the main website, but I believe it would be best to just hold off until there a source or a statement from the park.--Jpp858 (talk) 06:08, 17 December 2020 (UTC)
- What a mess. We can wait for an announcement.—JlACEer (talk) 14:43, 17 December 2020 (UTC)
- If that really is the case, I guess there's limited harm in refraining to apply it for now. Apparently all the SFOT operators and full-time staff have been made aware that it is indeed down for 2022, and that the reasoning is indeed a turntable. And I can say that because I'm pretty tight with quite a few of them. I have my sources everywhere, if I write information like that, its because I've verified that its true. The tricky part is finding and citing a passable source to quote such. And since thats not passable in this case, I agree that we may as well let it rest to some extent. I will request, however, that we simply refer to it as a 2022 attraction, little reasoning given, as saying 2021 would openly and knowingly be applying false information.—Bigtime Boy (talk) 5:04, 31 December 2020 (UTC)
- If the ride section of the website, was not so awfully wrong, I would be happy to change the article. It looks like most all the other parks have the same issues on their ride pages (examples: Bugs White Water Rapids at Fiesta Texas and Skyway at Great Adventure) so speculating information from their website is unreliable. Screamscape isn't a reliable source and should not be used because of its speculative nature, and neither are its external links to personal blogs. The park hasn't even made an official statement of the coaster being delayed during 2020, all they did was quietly change the wording around park and on their website (at the time, the coaster had its own personal page, which changed the wording from 2020 to 2021. The page, now directs you to the park's newsroom page and not the coaster). I also want to state that this was before they updated the whole entire www.sixflags.com website. The ride received a new ride page with the company website overhaul, but with so many errors on their site from their ride sections throughout the company, I would vote towards not using it as reliable.
- The roller coaster's mobile page is still up and states the ride is coming in 2021. I believe it would just be best to leave 2021 for now, until the park makes an official statement. Remember, Wikipedia is not a crystal ball, and when looking up "Aquaman: Power Wave 2022" or "Aquaman: Power Wave", on Google, there is nothing other than speculation due to wording on their website from non-verified sources. Rumors about a turntable should be refrain for now. --Jpp858 (talk) 07:24, 31 December 2020 (UTC)
- I am moving the discussion on the ride's talk page.--Jpp858 (talk) 07:32, 31 December 2020 (UTC)

Class ratings for new college football season articles
editJpp858, thanks for creating all those new 2022 college football season articles. Articles at a level of development like that of 2022 Nicholls Colonels football team should be rated as Stub class, not C class. Jweiss11 (talk) 16:32, 29 June 2022 (UTC)

However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. Gulf South Conference team season articles
editI see that you've been creating a large number of team/season articles on Gulf South teams. Most of these do not pass WP:GNG, and I've already nominated a couple for deletion. One solution for these Division II Gulf South teams would be to merge them into annual conference articles - similar to what we have at 2022 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference football season and 2022 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference football season. If you are amenable to that, I'd be happy to help. Let me know. Cbl62 (talk) 00:13, 10 December 2022 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Category:XFL (2020) playoffs templates
editA tag has been placed on Category:XFL (2020) playoffs templates indicating that it is currently empty, and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion. Arlington Renegades draft history moved to draftspace
editAn article you recently created, Arlington Renegades draft history, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can develop the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Thanks, --– DreamRimmer (talk) 10:49, 6 December 2023 (UTC)
List of Arlington Renegades starting quarterbacks moved to draftspace
editThanks for your contributions to List of Arlington Renegades starting quarterbacks. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it has no sources. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.
Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. Significa liberdade (she/her) (talk) 19:01, 6 December 2023 (UTC)

Infobox college sports team season
editJpp858, thanks for your work over the past few days stubbing out all those 2024 college football team articles. Sticking break tags in the coach fields of Template:Infobox college sports team season is not a good idea. Greetings Jpp858,
I'm reaching out to you because you seem to be an active Wikipedian from the Austin/San Antonio metro. I'm moving to Austin soon and looking to connect with Wikipedians in the region. I'm a Wikipedian and Wikipedia researcher / scholar coming to UT Austin as an assistant professor in the School of Information. I teach a class on online communities where I have my students do a project where they will make contributions to Wikipedia and I love to create a chance for them to meet a serious Wikipedian and converse about this experience. I'll be teaching this fall Semester and I'm looking for folks who might want to visit.
Would you be interested in this? If not, do you know anyone to recommend?
Also, I saw that there was once an Austin Wikipedia meetup, but it is inactive. I am open to organizing the meetup again, if there might be a handful of people who would regularly attend. What would you say about that?
My website is https://teblunthuis.cc . You can learn more about me there. I haven't updated it yet with my new position though.
Thanks for reading this email and editing Wikipedia. Sincerely,

editHi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Gotham City (themed area), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Streets of New York. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Reviving Operation B&M
