ZeroC

edit

ZeroC has been proposed for deletion. An editor felt this company might not be notable enough for an article. Please review WP:CORP for the relevant guidelines. If you can improve the article to address these concerns, please do so.

If no one objects to the deletion within five days by removing the prod notice, the article may be deleted without further discussion. NickelShoe 03:01, 7 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

Internet Communications Engine has also been proposed for deletion. Please see the article for details. NickelShoe 03:02, 7 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

I'm not sure that the company is notable even with the inclusion of Michi Henning. Were this a movie, for example, the inclusion of one "star" amongst other unnotables would be called stunt casting; I believe this to be much the same. While ICE may meet software notability (and nothing wrong with that), there's no indicator that its parent company does, and I'd have to see more on the article to be convinced otherwise. That being said, I'm rather easy to convince in this regard, and if it doesn't look like microadvertising (which it seems to), that's my main concern.--み使い Mitsukai 17:14, 7 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

Didn't think that you were involved with them, and there's no rule saying you can't mention it even if you are, so that's not an issue. My concern was more that it was a relatively recent article and that it "felt" like advertising, so I took what I thought were the appropriate steps. If you wish to leave them, that's fine, but if I'm thinking that it feels like advertising, so might others, so some expanding of the article might be in order to prevent this. Hope this helps.--み使い Mitsukai 19:54, 7 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

Vandalism?

edit

Please refrain from adding nonsense to Wikipedia, as you did to Néstor Kirchner. It is considered vandalism. If you would like to experiment, use the sandbox. —Pablo D. Flores (Talk) 14:53, 5 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

You restored a vandalic comment: [1]. It looked like you were the same as 200.43.164.192 (talk · contribs) or 200.43.164.196 (talk · contribs). If that's not the case, please accept my apologies. Just to make it clear, Kirchner's nickname is not "Virolita". :) —Pablo D. Flores (Talk) 21:47, 6 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Sources required

edit

As a self-professed Wikipedian from Mexico, please help to find sources for Fresa (AfD discussion) in order to make a verifiable encyclopaedia article about the concept. See chav for how such articles should be sourced. Uncle G 11:59, 14 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

Regarding the article covering LTTE

edit

Hi, just wanted to draw your attention to the current status of the article regarding the LTTE. I am trying to keep POV tags on it as it contains several statements that I consider poorly documented (LTTE involved in drug smuggling, forced prostitution and cooperation with Al Quaida). To make my position clear (as I also have done on the article's talk page) I am no friend of the LTTE - I consider their organisation in several ways have fascists and anti-democratic sides that I am strongly against. However I do believe that Wikipedia should be based on facts, not "talk on the town". I dont want to waste too much time over that article, but at least I will try to keep the POV tags from what I consider biased edits from sinhala chauvinists. If you could have a look and engage (or critizise me if I am wrong) I would be happy about that. Ulflarsen 08:09, 3 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Unreferenced BLPs

edit

Hello Joakim Ziegler! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 1 of the articles that you created is tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 16 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:

  1. Álvaro Delgado - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL

Are you certain that this proposed deletion, without debate, will be clearly non-controversial? Bearian (talk) 23:19, 13 August 2014 (UTC)Reply

I'm open to the idea that it's not, but it's an orphan article with basically no references, about an author who has only self-published and is not really mentioned anywhere outside of her own website and a couple of websites that charge for coverage, so I'm pretty sure it's non-notable. Feel free to remove to notice and we'll have a debate if you think it's worthwhile, though.

Speedy deletion nomination of Bill Hicks

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Bill Hicks requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about something invented/coined/discovered by the article's creator or someone they know personally, and it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator.
