Speedy deletion nomination of Pre-Columbian history of Quebec
If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a notice to inform you that a tag has been placed on Pre-Columbian history of Quebec requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, a "See also" section, book references, category tags, template tags, interwiki links, images, a rephrasing of the title, a question that should have been asked at the help or reference desks, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. - @Safyrr: Why did you blank this page and request that it be deleted? Jarble (talk) 01:42, 26 September 2023 (UTC)
- Why didn't you read the talk page? I'm trying to rename Prehistory of Quebec to this because it is a full article that only covers pre-columbian history. I suspect that it wasn't originally called that due to the existence of this redirect page.
- Safyrr 02:48, 26 September 2023 (UTC)
- @Safyrr: Since we can't rename the article without deleting a redirect, this should be done by requesting a page move. Jarble (talk) 02:54, 26 September 2023 (UTC)
- So I should request to move Prehistory of Quebec to Pre-Columbian history of Quebec? Safyrr 03:05, 26 September 2023 (UTC)

Careless edit of Template:Lesbian feminism sidebar
When you transcluded the Template:Lesbian feminism sidebar on 22 October 2023, you screwed up the template. If you had previewed your edit you would have seen that the entire content of the Groups section (33 linked articles) disappeared and was replaced by the list of books (Les Guérillères, etc.).
All you needed to do before publishing your edit was to check and review all the sections to ensure that your edit had not caused an error in the template. Pyxis Solitary (yak yak). Ol' homo. 04:03, 29 October 2023 (UTC)
- @Pyxis Solitary: Thanks for fixing that; I accidentally transcluded the "Books" section instead of the "Groups" section there. Should we transclude these sections again, or leave the duplicated lists as-is? Jarble (talk) 15:21, 29 October 2023 (UTC)
- I have no issue with transcluding related templates such as this one, and it does reduce the labor it takes to update both the sidebar and the navbox. But for one week, any reader who has viewed the sidebar and is not familiar with all it normally contains, did not know what it was missing. So the transclusion has to be done carefully. About the article
Ever since you stated that the Penis article needed a rewrite, I decided to tweak the existing info and add new info with sources. See for yourself and tell me what you think. Autisticeditor 20 (talk) 00:22, 3 February 2024 (UTC)
- @Autisticeditor 20: This is a good start; the article still has too many haphazardly-organized lists of trivia (in this section, for example). Maybe these lists should be removed. Jarble (talk) 01:50, 3 February 2024 (UTC)
- How about now? Autisticeditor 20 (talk) 02:08, 3 February 2024 (UTC)
- @Autisticeditor 20: This is somewhat better, but this section might need to be rewritten. It should be structured like the Mammalian kidney or Mammalian eye article, as an overview of the subject instead of a list of species-specific characteristics. Jarble (talk) 02:22, 3 February 2024 (UTC)

Level of detail of excerpts
Hi, just a word about the use of excerpts between articles of different types, or at different levels: I saw you selected some materials to do with magnetoception. Thing is, an article like Dog needs minimal detail about mechanism, and can take a bit of light chatty text about whether the mechanism actually occurs or not, its possible presence certainly being an interesting surprise to many readers of such a general (not very electrophysiological) article. That same light chatty text, however, is not going to fit at all well in a highly technical article about the quantum mechanism itself. I'd hazard a guess that there will be very few cases where a chunk of biology text can be included wholesale in an article with a different context. Suppose we have a high-level taxon article: it will say little about any one species, and as much as possible about what all the species have in common. That material will almost always be at the wrong level – too vague on species-specific detail, too detailed on general mechanisms – for the subsidiary taxa. And so on: sharing will, in fact, hardly ever work properly. I can see that 'excerpt' is a tempting mechanism, promising quick gains for little effort: but unfortunately, it will often be a step backwards in explanation, rendering articles uneven and fragmented. Sorry, but there it is. All the best, Chiswick Chap (talk) 19:11, 3 February 2024 (UTC)
- @Chiswick Chap: I added an excerpt about magnetoreception in fish because the Fish article did not mention magnetoreception. Should this excerpt not be included? Jarble (talk) 19:32, 3 February 2024 (UTC)
- I'll take a look. I just rewrote the bit in Insect to the required level of detail (without a separate subsection), and I have an idea I'll do the same over at Fish, for the same reason. Chiswick Chap (talk) 19:34, 3 February 2024 (UTC)
Hi. Please do not add navigation templates to articles that are not linked from those templates. WP:NAV-WITHIN: "every article listed on a particular navigation template generally has the template placed on its page." That implies that articles not listed on a template are not meant to include that template. --Omnipaedista (talk) 13:33, 28 February 2024 (UTC)
- @Omnipaedista: Yes, I should have added this article to Template:Non-classical logic before putting the template on the article. Should the template include modal logics such as normal modal logic, regular modal logic, and provability logic? Jarble (talk) 14:09, 28 February 2024 (UTC)
- Well, you could add all those in parentheses after the term "Modal Logic" on the "Non-classical logic" template. Please also make sure you place nav boxes in their right place as per MOS:SECTIONORDER ("End matter: Other navigation footer templates (navboxes)"). --Omnipaedista (talk) 14:31, 28 February 2024 (UTC)
- @Omnipaedista: That might be a good task for a bot; do we need to request a bot to rearrange these templates in their correct order, or has this already been done? Jarble (talk) 14:36, 28 February 2024 (UTC)
- I cannot operate a bot myself. That's OK, I'm not implying you should do any fixes. Just giving a heads-up for the future. --Omnipaedista (talk) 14:40, 28 February 2024 (UTC)

Robotaxi
Hi @Jarble, I saw that you previously edited the Robotaxi page and I would like to suggest some additions to the page. The company Mobileye has recently announced 3 new robotaxi projects in Norway, Croatia and Germany with partners Ruter, Verne and Deutsche Bahn that would be good additions to the page.
Could these projects be added to a new 'Notable Commercial Ventures' section? Thanks!
Note - I'm employee of Mobileye and have declared my COI Gideon at Mobileye (talk) 10:56, 5 September 2024 (UTC)
- @Gideon at Mobileye: We should discuss this on the article's talk page instead of my user page. Jarble (talk) 13:37, 5 September 2024 (UTC)
- Sure. I added a comment there Talk:Robotaxi#Mobileye

Edit request
On the Vagina article in the second introductory paragraph, could you please change this sentence "Female mammals usually have two external openings in the vulva; these are the urethral opening for the urinary tract and the vaginal opening for the genital tract. This is different from male mammals, who usually have a single urethral opening for both urination and reproduction." to the following:
"Female placental mammals have two openings on the vulval vestibule or inside the urogenital sinus for the urethra (urinary tract) and vagina (genital tract). This is different from males, who have a single urethral opening for both urination and reproduction."
This is because new information about the Urogenital sinus in female placentals have been added. 181.215.172.251 (talk) 17:42, 20 September 2024 (UTC)
- I've seen many similar requests like this; is it from one of these sockpuppets? Jarble (talk) 18:20, 20 September 2024 (UTC)
- No. I just realized something was not matching with those articles. That’s why I need your help. 181.215.172.251 (talk) 18:30, 20 September 2024 (UTC)
