He may choose to work in quieter areas and avoid complicated tasks or areas prone to conflict. He may also respond to talk page or email messages more slowly than usual, and your patience is greatly appreciated. Thank you. |

Regarding page reviewer
Thank you to everyone who recommended I try out the New Page Reviewer right, however, I have opted not to make it permanent nor do I intend on returning to it for as long as this message is up. New page reviewing doesn't seem to make sense to me given all I've ever used it for (mostly) was page reviewing redirects following bad article attempts. Even that part of Wikipedia has given me a small amount of stress, and I've had to back away from disputes to avoid making that stress worse.
In short, it doesn't make sense to me to keep a user right if I know I'm not going to use it as frequently, especially given I might leave Wikipedia within the next few years. Jalen Folf (talk) 18:44, 3 August 2020 (UTC)
- Hi. I was coming here to leave a message to you regarding NPP, and saw this. Too bad, we could use quality folks over there, but I definitely understand about the stress. Thanks for all you do. Onel5969 TT me 15:21, 9 April 2021 (UTC)
Administrators' newsletter – December 2024
News and updates for administrators from the past month (November 2024).
Interface administrator changes
- Following an RFC, the policy on restoration of adminship has been updated. All former administrators may now only regain the tools following a request at the Wikipedia:Bureaucrats' noticeboard within 5 years of their most recent admin action. Previously this applied only to administrators deysopped for inactivity.
- Following a request for comment, a new speedy deletion criterion, T5, has been enacted. This applies to template subpages that are no longer used.
- Technical volunteers can now register for the 2025 Wikimedia Hackathon, which will take place in Istanbul, Turkey. Application for travel and accommodation scholarships is open from November 12 to December 10, 2024.
- The arbitration case Yasuke (formerly titled Backlash to diversity and inclusion) has been closed.
- An arbitration case titled Palestine-Israel articles 5 has been opened. Evidence submissions in this case will close on 14 December.
thanks for help

Naleork
Following your reversion of Naleork's future TOC stuff I thought you might have an opinion on this: Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_UK_Railways#Too_soon_/_WP:CRYSTALBALL. Thank you. 10mmsocket (talk) 09:00, 26 December 2024 (UTC)

Administrators' newsletter – January 2025
News and updates for administrators from the past month (December 2024).
- Following an RFC, Wikipedia:Notability (species) was adopted as a subject-specific notability guideline.
- A request for comment is open to discuss whether admins should be advised to warn users rather than issue no-warning blocks to those who have posted promotional content outside of article space.
- The Nuke feature also now provides links to the userpage of the user whose pages were deleted, and to the pages which were not selected for deletion, after page deletions are queued. This enables easier follow-up admin-actions.
- Following the 2024 Arbitration Committee elections, the following editors have been elected to the Arbitration Committee: CaptainEek, Daniel, Elli, KrakatoaKatie, Liz, Primefac, ScottishFinnishRadish, Theleekycauldron, Worm That Turned.
- A New Pages Patrol backlog drive is happening in January 2025 to reduce the number of unreviewed articles and redirects in the new pages feed. Sign up here to participate!
Bill Allard beginning editor
Did 2 edits and assume after I do 8 more I will become an official Wikipedia editor. I started down this road so I could produce an entry for "Bill Allard" which is me. I got a "soon to be deleted" message on a longer version I posted for "Bill Allard" and just re-did that post to 2 lines that I hope are acceptable. If you think it best that I find someone else to create a "Bill Allard" Wikipedia post I will do that. If I can continue forward learning the Wikipedia rules, doing 8 more postings for other entries, and doing a final version of the "Bill Allard" post that follows all Wikipedia guidelines, I will do that.
