Removing tag 'orphan' from article
editAs suggested, links to the article Internet maturity were added on relevant pages. Removing tag 'orphan'.
- I actually redirected the "internet maturity" page to digital literacy, as it seemed to just be an invented neologism for the same kind of concept, with none of the sources you provided explicitly talking about "internet maturity" as a distinct concept. --McGeddon (talk) 12:37, 7 July 2014 (UTC)

editHello, I'm McGeddon. I wanted to let you know that I removed one or more external links you added to the page E-learning, because they seemed to be inappropriate for an encyclopedia. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page, or take a look at our guidelines about links. Thank you. McGeddon (talk) 11:35, 7 July 2014 (UTC)
Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to E-learning. Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include, but are not limited to, links to personal websites, links to websites with which you are affiliated (whether as a link in article text, or a citation in an article), and links that attract visitors to a website or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Because Wikipedia uses the nofollow attribute value, its external links are disregarded by most search engines. If you feel the link should be added to the page, please discuss it on the associated talk page rather than re-adding it. Thank you. McGeddon (talk) 11:48, 7 July 2014 (UTC)
- Linking to an Amazon sales page for a book goes against WP:ELNO. The book itself does not seem a particularly strong or notable example of the genre. If you have any personal or professional connection to the book's author you should read WP:COI before making any further edits related to it. --McGeddon (talk) 12:03, 7 July 2014 (UTC)
How to link to books
editPer WP:FURTHER, links to books should follow WP:ELNO. If there's no WP:ELNO-qualified link for a book, just leave it as a non-link. --McGeddon (talk) 12:40, 7 July 2014 (UTC)
Your recent edits
editHello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:
- Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment; or
- With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button ( or ) located above the edit window.
This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.
Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 13:03, 7 July 2014 (UTC)
Internet maturity
editCan you point to any sources that discuss the concept of "Internet maturity" specifically by that name? --McGeddon (talk) 13:14, 7 July 2014 (UTC)
- That list reads a lot like a Google result for "internet maturity", and these are both common words. Can you point to a single source outside of Pandey's book that shows that an article on the subject would meet WP:NEO? ("To support an article about a particular term or concept, we must cite what reliable secondary sources, such as books and papers, say about the term or concept, not books and papers that use the term.")
- Could you also clarify whether or not you have any conflict of interest with regards to the work of Raghu Pandey? Thanks. --McGeddon (talk) 08:38, 8 July 2014 (UTC)
- If you're not interested in giving me a single specific source that shows that the term meets WP:NEO, and unwilling to clarify whether you have a conflict of interest, then okay, we'll leave it there. --McGeddon (talk) 08:01, 9 July 2014 (UTC)
A tag has been placed on Internet maturity, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a redirect from an implausible typo, or other unlikely search term.
Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. If you believe that there is a reason to keep the redirect, you can request that administrators wait a while before deleting it. To do this, affix the template {{hangon}}
to the page and state your intention on the article's talk page. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. McGeddon (talk) 08:18, 9 July 2014 (UTC)
