editThanks for the barnstar. I've been to Mysore twice, (i have relatives there). How about working to make Mysore a FA? I'll assist you if you're willing. Nichalp 19:05, Mar 27, 2005 (UTC)

I've been editing en wikipedia very less these days.. which is evident by the fact that I checked the talk page today ;) --H P Nadig 01:40, 24 Apr 2005 (UTC)
Lingam
edithi Pradeep, I saw your comments on Lingam. There was an elaborate article on this at www.sulekha.com titled "Linga and Cigarette butt" or something of that sort. It was very very informative and presented Indian perspective. Thought of bringing it to your attention. Ramashray 04:49, 11 May 2005 (UTC)
Hi, saw your note on my talk page. Options like protecting the page are used only under extr-ordinary circumstances. It is best to discuss the issue with the users in the talk page and if they don't reply there, they can be contacted in their talk pages. Even then, if they continue to act indifferently, you can request for comment. Also, noone is supposed to revert the same article more than 3 times a day. -- Sundar (talk · contributions) 05:43, May 11, 2005 (UTC)
Hi Ramshray, It is indeed a very nice article. (When the Cigar becomes a Phallus). Unfortunately, I am going to stop trying to edit the page. The next sections I was going to add were related to Shaivism and explanations of different views. But people seem to be cemented to their views on the subject and not ready to listen or read. Thus, I will only be adding to the mess --IMpbt 16:10, 11 May 2005 (UTC)

infobox
editYeah, I was editing. I know the colours for mysore are yucky! See Gangtok. Please don't edit the infoboxes as of now, I'll clean up the mess and keep you informed. Feedback on Gangtok needed. =Nichalp «Talk»= July 3, 2005 12:19 (UTC)
- I'm trying to have a colour coded infobox. One colour for states, one for UTs, one for state capital cities, for other cities and finally for districts. =Nichalp «Talk»= July 3, 2005 12:40 (UTC)
- Ok, you suggest the colours. see also Surrey. Background images would strain the server. I like the colours BTW. You could also look at wikipedia:infobox for colours already taken. Regards, =Nichalp «Talk»= July 9, 2005 04:49 (UTC)
Mysore division
editHere's a nice map I made.
=Nichalp «Talk»= July 6, 2005 10:31 (UTC)
Looks pretty good. Can you highlight the city ?. I think the division includes other districts (this shows only the mysore district if I recollect correctly.
Colours
editThanks for your message. I didn't spot the message since it was tucked way in an older post. Green is used in the districts: Wikipedia:WikiProject Indian districts. Saffron would be too bright to use. Regards, =Nichalp «Talk»= 05:26, July 13, 2005 (UTC)
Royal titles
editHi. Sorry for the late response. Personally I would like to leave out the longish and non-unique titles like HRH etc However if someone living or dead is well-known with a particular title, we should use that eg the Nawab of Pataudi, Nawab of Arcot etc. -- Sundar \talk \contribs 03:38, July 26, 2005 (UTC)

"Dattatreya Ramachandra Bendre" a book by G.S.Amur and published by sahitya academy has the info. can Could you please confirm this --Aravind Parvatikar 06:32, 15 December 2005 (UTC)
- I can confirm that the 1974 date is correct.

Image permission problem with Image:JNYEL-06.jpg
editThanks for uploading Image:JNYEL-06.jpg, which you've sourced to Jim Newton. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the image (or other media file) agreed to license it under the given license.
If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either
- make a note permitting reuse under the GFDL or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
- Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here.
If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the image to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the image has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.
If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the image's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Images lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. MilborneOne (talk) 22:48, 19 February 2009 (UTC)
Unreferenced BLPs
editHello IMpbt! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 1 of the articles that you created is tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to insure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. if you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 3 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:
- Lee Giles - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs) · FENS · JSTOR · TWL

Speedy deletion nomination of CARTOSAT
editA tag has been placed on CARTOSAT, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done for the following reason:
Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time.
If you think that your page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. Jayadevp13 (talk) 12:02, 10 March 2013 (UTC)

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
