Welcome!

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. We as a community are glad to have you and thank you for creating a user account! Here are a few good links for newcomers:

Yes some of the links appear a bit boring at first, but they are VERY helpful if you ever take the time to read them.

Remember to place any articles you create into a category so we don't get orphans.

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! By the way, please be sure to sign your name on Talk and vote pages using four tildes (~~~~) to produce your name and the current date, or three tildes (~~~) for just your name. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my Talk page. Again, welcome.

License tagging for File:ImDisk-main.png

edit

Thanks for uploading File:ImDisk-main.png. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 06:06, 17 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

Re: Software Licensing (Windows Live Messenger)

edit

Hi Hugo87, please have a read of Software license, adware is not a software license. Windows Live Messenger is a proprietary licensed-software. "Adware" is simply a type of classification/category for the software and even if it is stated in the license that advertisements will be supported, it doesn't mean the license itself is "adware". I have no problem changing the Category:Freeware to Category:Adware as the freeware category was definitely incorrect. However, do note the difference between "software categories/types" and "software licenses". --Pikablu0530 (talk) 23:35, 20 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

Hola Hugo, and thanks for your recent involvement with this dear project of ours. If you take a look at the to-do page, you'll see there's plenty to do for everyone... May I suggest the New Java-categorized articles task. If that suits you, please put your user name on the relevant line in the to-do page so that everybody knows where you're contributing. Thanks again and don't hesitate to ask for any clarification or if you would like another suggestion for something else to do instead. Hasta luego, --AlainR345Techno-Wiki-Geek 22:52, 4 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

Nomination of ImDisk for deletion

edit

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article ImDisk is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/ImDisk until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion template from the top of the article. Fleet Command (talk) 14:23, 5 July 2011 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for the notification, I'll try and keep up. Cheers! HuGo_87 (talk) 19:44, 6 July 2011 (UTC)Reply
While at it check out Sockpuppet_investigations/Hugo_87, I told them that you are not me, but the admin checking it somehow failed to see this — if you are a German user it wouldn't help ;-) –89.204.137.160 (talk) 15:13, 9 July 2011 (UTC)Reply

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Android (operating system). Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Please be particularly aware, Wikipedia's policy on edit warring states:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made; that is to say, editors are not automatically "entitled" to three reverts.
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. SudoGhost 18:20, 23 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

Hi! I redirected a whole bunch of products to a list of ... products based on the fact that none of them had any claim to notability or external references that hinted of notability. Most of them contained technical specs, a single paragraph or so with text (with a few exceptions) as well as a list of supported games. This is not inline with a number of policies, as it's indiscriminate information, unverified and in some cases can be regarded as product promotion. So instead of deletion, I chose to merge into a list, as it would let us keep some data, as well as remarks for those products who needs it. Some of the products may of course turn out to be notable, and if so the article(s) should be recreated with proper sourcing, and it should conform to relevant guides and policies. Bjelleklang - talk 21:48, 14 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

Hi again. If you look at the column named Remarks, I've already noted there that it had a special scrolling wheel. Feel free to add any other features, but please keep the field as short as possible. Also remember that there is a thin line between being informative and promoting a product, so any claims of being the only mouse with this feature should be covered by a reference. I've only just begun working on the list, so any input is welcome. Add any types of data you think is missing from the tables, what I've listed so far are just the basics.
