Your input is needed on the SOPA initiative
Hi Hamtechperson,
You are receiving this message either because you expressed an opinion about the proposed SOPA blackout before full blackout and soft blackout were adequately differentiated, or because you expressed general support without specifying a preference. Whether you have used dispute resolution a little or a lot, now we need to know about your experience. The survey takes around five minutes, and the information you provide will not be shared with third parties other than to assist in analyzing the results of the survey. WHY DID YOU REMOVE MY EDITS ! ! ! ! !!
Hello,
I really want to know why did you undid my edits... All the information I provided was from http://oggyandthecockroaches.wikia.com only... It was NOT wrong! So it will be great if you undo your action...
Thank you, Sushruta Bhattacharjee — Preceding unsigned comment added by 223.179.131.130 (talk) 13:02, 24 October 2012 (UTC)
- I reverted the edit because A) Wikia is not a reliable source and B) the information was uncited. Hamtechperson 13:05, 24 October 2012 (UTC)
Vermont page edit
You recently undid a page edit in the Geology Section of the Vermont Page. I edited the page because it erroneously listed all of the types of granite sold by the Rock of Ages Quarry Co., many of which are quarried outside of Vermont, and therefore is not relevant to a discussion of Vermont geology. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 193.205.243.200 (talk) 13:25, 24 October 2012 (UTC)
- The edit is representative of only one company, and, while I agree that it may need to be changed, it would also be a good idea to have sources to back up your edits Hamtechperson 13:30, 24 October 2012 (UTC)
- I agree, which is why I do not think the page should list all of the granites sold by Rock of Ages. I did not change the citation because following the current citation takes you to Rock of Ages' website, where they list their stones. The previous edits give the false impression that those are all stones present in Vermont, when they are in fact the products of one company that also quarries two stones - Barre Grey and Bethel White - in Vermont. http://www.rockofages.com/en/quarry-blocks/granites — Preceding unsigned comment added by 193.205.243.200 (talk) 13:42, 24 October 2012 (UTC)

Sorry, i made a mistake and i apologize, but isn't it a little too strong to banning me from Wikipedia only for one little error? I'm not a vandal and in all my edits i try not to made errors, but it can happen. I hope to make better in the future and to improve myself. Best wishes. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2.37.128.161 (talk) 13:27, 24 October 2012 (UTC)

Actually, all the contributors except the maintenance taggers etc are socks of User:Mr Hamza, including the 119.xxx IP. See Mr Hamza's SPI. I've put the tag back on. Best you stop using rollback at Rejuvenation Research. Are those edits really vandalism? I'm being sincere, I don't know. Tiderolls 23:44, 11 November 2012 (UTC)

- They may indeed. I just don't want you to overstep with rollback. Folks get sensitive to rollback use when edits being rollbacked aren't vandalism. Tiderolls 23:50, 11 November 2012 (UTC)
- Also DUCKy socking going on too. That had something to do with it. IP was making the same edits earlier. Hamtechperson 23:53, 11 November 2012 (UTC)

Nicholas Hoult Edit
Hi, you marked my change of Movie Warm Bodies film in the Nicholas Hoult page (from teenage movie to zombie romance movie) as vandalism. Follow-up regarding your edit of Islamic terrorism
Thanks for the message. The contribution discusses a form of islamic terrorism (piracy against civilian ships) that is well documented and existed up to the mid 1800s. These accounts put islamic terrorism in its proper historical context and show that the current jihadi ideology existed very early on and in particular prior to European colonialism I believe this is the only place in the article where these early events are mentioned. The significance of these events are further highlighted by the fact that these events lead to two wars and shape the early American experience with terrorism. Without this contribution the reader would be left thinking that the jihadi ideology and actions fiest appeared after Euoropean colonialism. This is simply not consistent with history. Finally, the contribution is well referenced. So why would anyone deem the contribution not to be relevant or appropriate? ----WikiAC123 — Preceding unsigned comment added by WikiAC123 (talk • contribs) 19:17, 13 November 2012 (UTC)

Tama Drums
Hi there, I think the page lacks a lot of vital information regarding Tama Drums, their line up and the history. Everything you undid that I change jumps back to only basic and overall information about the Tama Drums company. I have been in the business for more than 30 years and the time has come when the all the information should be put in one place from various drum forums and unanswered questioned all over the world. Please do change back what I did. Thanks J — Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.110.43.9 (talk) 14:31, 1 February 2013 (UTC)
Re: February 2013
If you re-read the contents of my edit summary, you will find a reason why I removed the content related to polling in United States Senate election in New York, 2012. My edit summary was clearly not left blank. I shall proceed to revert your unnecessary revert if you don't give a more thorough explanation for your actions. 69.121.17.200 (talk) 14:49, 12 February 2013 (UTC)
Disregard my last comment. My removal of content was legit, and my initial edit was not without an edit summary. So I decided to undo your revert nonetheless. 69.121.17.200 (talk) 15:13, 12 February 2013 (UTC)

Your involvement with DRN
Hi there, I noticed that you haven't been as active at DRN as you was before. DRN has been a bit backlogged lately and we could use some extra hands. We have updated our volunteer list to a new format, Wikipedia:Dispute resolution noticeboard/Volunteers (your name is still there under the old format if you haven't updated it) and are looking into ways to make DRN more effective and more rewarding for volunteers (your input is appreciated!). If you don't have much time to volunteer at the moment, that's fine too, just move your name to the inactive list (you're free to add yourself back to active at any time). Hope to see you again soon :) Steven Zhang (talk) 13:19, 25 September 2013 (UTC)

DRN needs assistance
You are receiving this message because you have listed yourself as a volunteer at the Dispute Resolution Noticeboard.
We have a backlog of cases there which need volunteer attention. If you have time available, please take one or more of these cases.
If you do not intend to take cases or help with the administration of DRN on a regular basis, or if you do not wish to receive further notices of this nature, please remove your username from the volunteer list. If you later decide to resume activities at DRN you may relist your name at that time.

Hi. In case you didn't catch it, the deletion template you placed at Nick-Bertrand Ntahokaja was removed. Being in a language other than English isn't a qualification for speedy deletion. You can see WP:Pages needing translation into English for the treatment of such pages. —Largo Plazo (talk) 00:55, 16 April 2015 (UTC)
why did you destroy the page I was working on?
There wasn't any reason to do that and results (ballot placement) have already started. no W:Recentism at all. YoursT (talk) 00:15, 13 November 2015 (UTC)
- The page is redundant to the main page for the subject. There is no reason to have a separate article on it. Hamtechperson 00:17, 13 November 2015 (UTC)
- Not it isn't, and here's why: unlike last cycle, where there were only five contested primaries, ALL the primaries through the end of March are, and it's still quite possible to have a genuine long-term race. Look at Results of the Republican Party presidential primaries, 2012, which was definitely necessary. With the Iowa caucuses only 80 days away, we need to get everything ready so when the big show starts all we need is to plug in the numbers.YoursT (talk) 12:49, 13 November 2015 (UTC)

Kam Chancellor edit
I don't think you made mistake. I just think that a page about a person does not need to contain ANY information available but just relevant ones. This means thing like marriage/children and maybe charity work. Detailed schedules of fitness classes and what presents people buy for their parents is TMUI (too much unnecessary information). Remember that Wikipedia is an encyclopedia and not a tabloid magazine. That's why I deleted the most part of that section. 178.2.23.3 (talk) 11:39, 15 November 2015 (UTC)
Help needed at DRN
You are receiving this message because you are signed up as a volunteer at the Dispute Resolution Noticeboard. We have a number of pending requests which need a volunteer to address them. Unless you are an inexperienced volunteer who is currently just watching DRN to learn our processes, please take a case. If you do not see yourself taking cases in the foreseeable future, please remove yourself from the volunteer list so that we can have a better idea of the size of our pool of volunteers; if you do see yourself taking cases, please watchlist the DRN page and keep an eye out to see if there are cases which are ready for a volunteer. We have recently had to refuse a number of cases because they were listed for days with no volunteer willing to take them, despite there being almost 150 volunteers listed on the volunteer page. You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. DRN help needed and volunteer roll call
You are receiving this message because you have listed yourself on the list of volunteers at Wikipedia:Dispute resolution noticeboard/Volunteering#List of the DRN volunteers.
First, assistance is needed at DRN. We have recently closed a number of cases without any services being provided for lack of a volunteer willing to take the case. There are at least three cases awaiting a volunteer at this moment. Please consider taking one.
Second, this is a volunteer roll call. If you remain interested in helping at DRN and are willing to actively do so by taking at least one case (and seeing it through) or helping with administrative matters at least once per calendar month, please add your name to this roll call list. Individuals currently on the principal volunteer list who do not add their name on the roll call list will be removed from the principal volunteer list after June 30, 2016 unless the DRN Coordinator chooses to retain their name for the best interest of DRN or the encyclopedia. Individuals whose names are removed after June 30, 2016, should feel free to re-add their names to the principal volunteer list, but are respectfully requested not to do so unless they are willing to take part at DRN at least one time per month as noted above. No one is going to be monitoring to see if you live up to that commitment, but we respectfully ask that you either live up to it or remove your name from the principal volunteer list.

Sorry, but this went on way too long. Next time if you see something like what you saw at 2:44, report it to AIV right away--now I got to go through dozens of edits that need to be rev-deleted, 45 minutes later. RFPP and all that is nice--but nothing beats a quick block. Or go through Recent changes and see what admins are on call. Thank you, Drmies (talk) 03:27, 31 October 2017 (UTC)
- Sorry about that. I'll bring things like that straight to AIV in future. Is there a different page than AIV where something like this may get eyes even faster, or is that the best forum? Hamtechperson 03:34, 31 October 2017 (UTC)
- AIV is the best--you can leave a note saying something like HEY THIS A-HOLE REALLY NEEDS TO BE BLOCKED RIGHT NOW. If I were to see that, I would take that very seriously, since I know you're a good-faith editor. BTW apparently the wrath of the alt-right is upon us, you know. Why small=yes?
When you declined Draft:Christopher Roach, you inserted this line:
{{AFC submission|d|ilc|u=Jnice2k3|ns=118|decliner=Atlantic306|declinets=20171023225648|small=yes|ts=20171023142638}}
The |small=yes
triggers a Lint error of type Missing end tag, leaving a <small>
tag unclosed.
- Is
|small=yes
necessary here? - If so, perhaps
{{AFC submission}}
needs fixing to properly close the small tag.

- @Anomalocaris: Small=yes in the context of the AFC template cuts down an old rejection to just the rejection reason. It saves space within the page when rendered. It looks like there may be some issue deep in the template code that's causing the lint errors. It may also be a bug in the lint error detector. It may also be an AFCH error. I would recommend bringing this up with the AFC project as a whole somewhere. It would get more eyes, and from people who may be more familiar with what may be causing it. Declined submission
Hi Hamtechperson,
Thanks for reviewing my submission on "Ammar Ahmad".
Just a question on this. I'm going to change the content into more formal and neutral tone. Do I have to change the sources as well?
Thanks User457b — Preceding unsigned comment added by User457b (talk • contribs) 04:03, 22 November 2017 (UTC)
- @User457b: I would suggest that you find sources that are slightly more biographic in nature, but I do not see any issues on that front. The current sources are good, but can always be better. More importantly, I would focus more on the man himself in your article. As the article currently stands, not only are there tone issues, but it reads like it's trying to be an article both about the person and the company he founded. The article for Ammar Ahmad should focus solely on Ammar Ahmad. If you can rewrite the article so that it's more focused on the person, I can get a better sense of his notability. I would also suggest you check our Biographies of Living Persons policy. I'm not completely sure your subject is notable. While a rewrite would help clarify the situation, if you can show coverage outside of the business context that would be even better. Feel free to let me know if you need further help. I don't understand why this article has been rejected. It is exactly the same article as the one that was already on wikipedia but unfortunately had been added to the page on Sebastian Faulks' novel "Human Traces". A colleague of yours thus removed the "Human Trace" article and created a new draft. If the sources were considered reliable in the original instance, why all of a sudden are they not in the second? I've checked them all and they are reliable sources. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Coralroot (talk • contribs) 11:08, 5 December 2017 (UTC)
- @Coralroot: A work can't be the source for an article about that work. We need independent sources to prove notability. Hamtechperson 05:13, 6 December 2017 (UTC)

I am requesting a re-review, because it was rejected and I have mended the changes required. It is important to me as a voter in the Pundri Constituency that people of Haryana have access to their leaders.
