editHey. I don't know if you're Qswfmb (talk · contribs), but if you are, you should use only one username. Sockpuppetry is a serious offense on Wikipedia and can result in you being permanently blocked from editing. — HelloAnnyong (say whaaat?!) 14:23, 4 August 2010 (UTC)
- Also, you should be aware that meatpuppetry - getting your friends to acts as proxies as support for you - is also unacceptable. — HelloAnnyong (say whaaat?!) 14:28, 4 August 2010 (UTC)
- What? I have no idea what you're talking about. I am someone who really understands 3-D displays and was trying to improve the quality of this article. I have only one username. You are convincing me that contributing to WikiPedia is a waste of time.Gregg Favalora (talk) 14:31, 4 August 2010 (UTC)
- Then I apologize; it really wasn't my intention to drive you away. Sometimes around here when an editor isn't pleased with how a page is turning out, they'll turn to either creating alternate usernames and editing under those, or getting their friends to come side with them. And I saw that a brand new account had come and left several remarks on the page about how it was "totally inaccurate", so I wanted to get warnings out there just in case my suspicious were right. Again, I'm sorry. — HelloAnnyong (say whaaat?!) 14:40, 4 August 2010 (UTC)
- Thanks. And, ah, now I understand what's happening. I pointed a professional colleague to the article recently who is quite expert at the topic but perhaps not at WikiPedia. I thought he would share my surprise at how the article is evolving. It wasn't an attempt to follow some agenda; rather, there are real inaccuracies here. In any case, I'll back off from this piece for a while until I am able to contribute something more citation-rich, etc. Gregg Favalora (talk) 14:43, 4 August 2010 (UTC)

I looked through your edits, and whilst I'm definitely no heavy editor I'll try to do my best and give you some pointers.
- References are usually added inside <ref> tags, like this: "This is a statement<ref>reference info goes here</ref>". This adds a footnote, and references are added wherever {{reflist}} is included.
- I think the problem with the link to your online course is that it could be seen as mere promotion. HelloAnnyong linked you to [[WP:LINKSPAM] in their revert of your edit; WP:OR#Citing_oneself might be related as well (I'm not sure, it's not a citation, but it's a reference to your own work).
In general, I think it's great that someone who knows about the subject contributes to the article; you shouldn't be afraid of doing "wrong", as long as contributions are made in good faith. Hopefully someone with a better knowledge of the customs at wikipedia could give you better pointers, but in general, don't be afraid to edit. :) —FireFly~ 22:57, 11 November 2010 (UTC)
