I've reverted your edits at Medrano. That is a disambiguation page: a page whose intent is simply to list topics that meet a broad search term. The page's intent is not to give an in-depth analysis or history of the surname. Further, your edits did not cite any reliable sources and were not written in a proper encyclopedic tone. It is clear that you have done extensive research on this topic. I recommend that you create Draft:Medrano (surname), add your content there, and then submit the draft to the Articles for Creation process, where your draft can be reviewed by more experienced editors who can give you feedback on how to improve the material, and may even choose to collaborate with you in bring the draft up to publication readiness. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 21:42, 10 January 2022 (UTC)
Some of the content you added was copied from another website, and thus was a violation of Wikipedia's copyright policy. Please don't add copyright material to Wikipedia. — Diannaa (talk) 22:14, 10 January 2022 (UTC)
As it is my first time in trying to publish a legitimate article I should have more carefully looked at the guidelines. I removed external links and I have made a draft and added my research there. However, as it is my surname by birth, blood and by right, it is a topic in which I know the most about. I have various sources and scientific evidence from a DNA analysis which confirms my research, therefore if anyone would like to deny or dispute my findings they can take it up with scientific data and historical records. Geronimo Virula Medrano (talk) 17:33, 11 January 2022 (UTC)
- Simply having the surname does not make you the foremost expert on it. Since you mention that you have sources and scientific evidence, you will be required to add that as part of your draft (see Help:Citing sources). Also, you should create your draft at Draft:Medrano (surname), not at your personal sandbox as you have done. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 18:10, 11 January 2022 (UTC)
Simply having "wikidan61" does not make you the overlord of wiki nor does it qualify you to determine who is an expert and who is not. When it comes to surnames the descendants of the surname are always put first when dealing with genealogy, provided they have documentation and scientific proof. Thanks for the tip Dan, I'll make a new draft. Geronimo Virula Medrano (talk) 19:09, 11 January 2022 (UTC)

AFD notes
editWhen making your point at WP:AFD, brevity is your friend. Long diatribes tend to be ignored by other editors (see WP:TLDR). You've made your point about the quality of your sources. Your best path now is to leave the issue for other editors to evaluate. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 19:47, 6 July 2022 (UTC)
July 2022
editWelcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions, but in one of your recent edits, it appears that you have added original research, which is against Wikipedia's policies. Original research refers to material—such as facts, allegations, ideas, and personal experiences—for which no reliable, published sources exist; it also encompasses combining published sources in a way to imply something that none of them explicitly say. Please be prepared to cite a reliable source for all of your contributions. You can have a look at the tutorial on citing sources.
Please familiarize yourself with the difference between primary, secondary and tertiary sources, and note that all contributions need to be directly verifiable (that means page numbers!) in recent secondary sources published with reliable academic publishing houses. Thanks, ☿ Apaugasma (talk ☉) 02:08, 7 July 2022 (UTC)
Virulaha
editHi Geronimo Virula Medrano El! I reverted your addition of "Virulaha" as an alternative name for Vishrava here and here, because no sources were provided in which this information can be verified. What I was wondering though is, where did you get this information? Is there any connection to your user name, "Geronimo Virula"? Maybe you know more about this? Thanks, ☿ Apaugasma (talk ☉) 14:09, 7 July 2022 (UTC)
I love history, I love culture, but I really dislike when you wiki warriors think you know everything and then proceed to remove things without first inquiring about them.
In the Buddhist Version of the Ramayana, also called d the "Phra lak Phra Lam" Virulaha is mentioned numerous times: The core-story is compact. A brahma-couple founds the city of Indraprastha (the present-day Cambodia). Their last son Tapa Paramesvara succeeds his father to the throne of Indraprastha. Tapa Paramesvara in his turn gives the throne to his younger / last son Virulaha.
In Indraprastha a maha-brahma is reborn first as a deformed child Lul Lu2 in the house of a farmer and then as Ravana, the handsome son of Virulaha after the proper remoulding of his soul in the abode of Indra, At the age of three Ravana travels northward, and abducts his cousin Canda, the daughter of King Dhatarattha, from Vientiane, without formally begging her hand in customary Laotian tradition.
Rama and his younger brother Lak have numerous progeny from their different wives. Sixteen of them are meticulously enumerated.
Aggrieved by the bad conduct of his grandson, Ravana, Tapa Paramesvara leaves lndraprastha with his wife, his daughter-in-law and his son Virulaha travels to Vientiane where he is joined by his other daughter-in-law and his eldest son Dhatarattha. All the six travel to Mount Yugandhara.
I'm not going to copy and paste any more verses to you, instead you can educate yourself:https://www.exoticindiaart.com/book/details/buddhist-ramayana-phra-lak-phra-lam-original-text-translation-and-critical-study-set-of-2-volumes-in-4-parts-nan065/
Now, I am requesting that you revert Virulaha back because in the Buddhist Version Ravana's father IS VIRULAHA.
And yes Virula has everything to do with Virulaha. Geronimo Virula Medrano El (talk) 14:34, 7 July 2022 (UTC)
- Hi again! That's very interesting, but all we need to add it to the article is a secondary source with full bibliographical information and a page number. If random people on the internet could just add anything, saying they've read it somewhere in some text, Wikipedia would become filled to the brim with nonsense very quickly. Do you understand why, and how, we should try to avoid that? ☿ Apaugasma (talk ☉) 15:35, 7 July 2022 (UTC)
Then do that. Geronimo Virula Medrano El (talk) 14:47, 8 July 2022 (UTC)
Brevity
editAs I mentioned before, no one is going to read this 17,000+ character diatribe. Discussions at AFD pages are intended to be brief. Despite the fact that I don't think your article should remain, I think you should have your best opportunity to defend it. Long screeds will be ignored, while brief arguments will be better understood. Good luck. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 17:15, 7 July 2022 (UTC)
- I have provided information, I have provided links and I have provided sources, I have provided the institutions and the credible men that extensively wrote about Don Andres Velaz de Medrano. You have the audacity to sit here and say no one will read it? I did as you asked, I provided the proof, and now you won't read it? Then I am asking for someone who will, please understand the importance there-in. Geronimo Virula Medrano El (talk) 18:08, 7 July 2022 (UTC)
There was an edit conflict at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Andres Velaz de Medrano in which some of your edits may have been lost. This happens when you edit and re-edit the page so frequently that other users cannot make replies or other edits to the page. I recommend you check your most recent edit and see if it needs to be retyped. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 18:59, 7 July 2022 (UTC)
AFD format
editPlease stop editing Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Andres Velaz de Medrano for a few minutes so I can fix some formatting errors. Specifically, you cannot have a heading level less than level 4 on the page, or it will screw up the formatting of the Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Log/2022_July_6 page (the page other editors review to see which discussion they might like to review). If you allow me a few minutes to fix the formatting, you can then return to editing to your heart's desire. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 19:25, 7 July 2022 (UTC)
- Okay, sure thing. But, please do not remove, change, re-word, or alter anything I have provided. All of the information was sourced and readily available. I will be keeping a very close eye on your edits. I want my full Objection of deletion to be at the top because it is the most clean and easy to read. Geronimo Virula Medrano El (talk) 19:26, 7 July 2022 (UTC)
- I'm done. I have not altered any of your words, only the heading levels used. Anything else would be a violation of talk page guidelines. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 19:32, 7 July 2022 (UTC)
You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you disrupt Wikipedia. Your refactoring of the AfD and inclusion of 60k of discussion has rendered the AfD page unusable. There is consensus at the ANI discussion for the clerking of your comments to the talk page; there is a pointer in place for editors to find your discussion. —C.Fred (talk) 12:47, 8 July 2022 (UTC)
- Further, if you want to add a comment to the discussion, add it to the bottom of the page. Do not place it at the very top, above the nomination. —C.Fred (talk) 13:03, 8 July 2022 (UTC)
Administrators' notice board discussion

- Tread lightly: calling people sockpuppets without solid evidence is a form of personal attack. —C.Fred (talk) 14:12, 8 July 2022 (UTC)
I read the rules and guidelines of Wikipedia, it states that people who are looking for trouble and voting based on bad-faith and opinions are supposed to be reported. None of you are focusing on the academic work I have published. This is a violation of the rules as editors are supposed to interact in good faith, and so far I have been attacked and falsely accused of first hand sources, and unencyclopedic ambiguous content. This is ubsurd. I have the information and sources. READ IT PLEASE OR LEAVE ME ALONE. Geronimo Virula Medrano El (talk) 14:19, 8 July 2022 (UTC)
- I mentioned specifically your accusation that they are sockpuppets. I see good-faith discussion on their part at the AfD and legitimate concerns raised about synthesis and original research. —C.Fred (talk) 14:24, 8 July 2022 (UTC)
There is no original research. Literally stop lieng. The only oral statement with no source is Mr.Mosquera. sock puppet user accounts are used for purposes of deception. The Editors at my dispute are deceiving the people, including you, because your denying the fact that I have readily sources, citations, publisher's,page numbers and institutions to back up everything I have provided. Stop deceiving people and let them read it for themselves. Geronimo Virula Medrano El (talk) 14:34, 8 July 2022 (UTC)
Wikipedia and copyright
editHello Geronimo Virula Medrano El! Your additions to Andres Velaz de Medrano have been removed in whole or in part, as they appear to have added copyrighted content without evidence that the source material is in the public domain or has been released by its owner or legal agent under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. (To request such a release, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission.) While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from sources to avoid copyright and plagiarism issues.
- You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
- Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify the information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
- We have strict guidelines on the usage of copyrighted images. Fair use images must meet all ten of the non-free content criteria in order to be used in articles, or they will be deleted. To be used on Wikipedia, all other images must be made available under a free and open copyright license that allows commercial and derivative reuse.
- If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. Understand, though, that unlike many other sites, where a person can license their content for use there and retain non-free ownership, that is not possible at Wikipedia. Rather, the release of content must be irrevocable, to the world, into either the public domain (PD) or under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. Such a release must be done in a verifiable manner, so that the authority of the person purporting to release the copyright is evidenced. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
- Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you must follow the copyright attribution steps described at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. See also Help:Translation#License requirements.
It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. — Diannaa (talk) 12:42, 8 July 2022 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Draft:Medrano (surname)
editIf this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Draft:Medrano (surname), requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Bbb23 (talk) 13:27, 8 July 2022 (UTC)

. Star Mississippi 14:36, 8 July 2022 (UTC)- Hello Star Mississippi, I hope you're doing well. I am formally requesting (because I have been blocked from editing) a complete deletion of the discussion here: http://en.m.wiki.x.io/wiki/Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Andres_Velaz_de_Medrano
- I do not believe the discussion should remain, it was resolved two years ago. I am seeking privacy per courtesy vanishing / right to vanish, including for this discussion. I tried: http://en.m.wiki.x.io/wiki/Wikipedia:Proposed_deletion#Deletion but I cannot add a tag on the discussion. It's been two years and I don't want this discussion on record any longer. Thank you kindly. Geronimo Virula Medrano El (talk) 15:35, 29 October 2024 (UTC)
- Hi @Geronimo Virula Medrano El There are no grounds here for a mandatory blanking as the discussion is not a BLP. As closer @C.Fred may choose to blank it or not. cc @Bbb23 who blocked your account. I am not inclined to blank it as I see no reason. You are not eligible for an account vanishing as you are blocked. Star Mississippi 15:56, 29 October 2024 (UTC)
- I don't see anything in the discussion that necessitates blanking it. —C.Fred (talk) 16:02, 29 October 2024 (UTC)
- Fred, some of the main points for me requesting to delete this page: It serves no purpose. I recently discovered that new information on the House of Medrano has been released on wikipedia. I am currently publishing a book and I do not want this account name associated with the discussion. The discussion is two years old. The discussion has been resolved. If you could consider this, I would appreciate you. Geronimo Virula Medrano El (talk) 16:06, 29 October 2024 (UTC)
- Thank you, I more so just wanted to start the conversation, I would be grateful if @C.Fred could remove the discussion. I believe the discussion is irrelevant today (its two years old) and serves no purpose on record. If Fred can't remove the page I would at least request a name change (Which I've already done) because I am seeking privacy per courtesy vanishing / right to vanish by having my account renamed. I do not want my current username associated with the discussion. Is there anything you can suggest? Geronimo Virula Medrano El (talk) 16:03, 29 October 2024 (UTC)
- WP:RTV is limited to editors in good standing @Geronimo Virula Medrano El which you are not due to your block. You will need to appeal the block before RTV will be considered. @C.Fred has already declined, but irrelevant and two years old are not grounds for blanking. I left the AfD alone after my information was moved and was told not to change it. Blocking me from editing further is pointless. All my information is still readily available. Congratulations, you did nothing. Geronimo Virula Medrano El (talk) 14:45, 8 July 2022 (UTC)
