You seem pretty cool :) I love Neil Gaiman's Death series
As for why there are no userboxes on things like makeup and stuffed animals, well have a look at Wikipedia:WikiProject Countering systemic bias#The origins of bias - most editors are way more geekier than you geeks --Mistress Selina Kyle (Α⇔Ω ¦ ⇒✉) 05:09, 4 January 2006 (UTC)

Lynn Conway
editHi, Geek Girl, thanks for your comments. I, too, would like to expand Lynn Conway's article and include more information about her TS rights activism, but like you, I don't want to just summarize her website. She's been a mentor to me as well; like you and her, I am a TS woman. I also happen to be a college student majoring in politics. Like you, I am extremely liberal, and I sometimes describe myself as a "feminist communist." I added a notation in Lynn Conway's article that it is a stub, so hopefully, someone will expand it.
Welcome to Wikipedia!
editHello GeekGirlSarah, welcome to Wikipedia!
Here are some tips:
- Take a look at the Simplified Ruleset.
- Read the Tutorial, How to edit a page and the Manual of Style.
- Find out how to revert, move and merge pages.
- Sign your posts on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~).
- Add yourself to the New user log and a regional notice board
- Ask questions at the Village pump or Help desk.
- Use the Show preview button
- Provide an Edit summary
- Add the correct image copyright tag to any images you upload
- Create a User page
- Be bold
- Ignore all rules
If you feel a change is needed, feel free to make it yourself! Wikipedia is a wiki, so anyone (yourself included) can edit any article by following the Edit this page link. Wikipedia convention is to be bold and not be afraid of making mistakes. If you're not sure how editing works, have a look at How to edit a page, or try out the Sandbox to test your editing skills.
If, for some reason, you are unable to fix a problem yourself, feel free to ask someone else to do it. Wikipedia has a vibrant community of contributors who have a wide range of skills and specialties, and many of them would be glad to help. As well as the wiki community pages there are IRC Channels, where you are more than welcome to ask for assistance.
If you have any questions, feel free to ask me on my talk page. Thanks and happy editing, Alphax τεχ 05:42, 7 January 2006 (UTC)

editI was admiring your userbox collection, to see if you had any I wanted to copy ... not this time & saw that you also care about Wikipedia:Tutorial so I thought it worth mentioning that you might want to check out
- Wikipedia:Helping Hand Group ... this group is interested in trying to improve the general content of tutorials for newbies, so as to make the whole process more user-friendly.
- Wikipedia:WikiProject Usability ... this group is interested in trying to improve the appearance of the text and pages, so they are more friendly to everyone, regardless of browser used, disabilities, bandwidth, and so forth.
As a computer guy, I also like intelligent words like algorithm that seem to be named after me. User:AlMac|(talk) 04:30, 10 January 2006 (UTC)
- Wait, I thought algorithms were named for Al Gore??? ♥ GeekGirlSarah ♥ 05:35, 10 January 2006 (UTC)
- Al Gore came along long after the Internet and coined some wonderful phrases, like Information Superhighway, using them to great political advantage, pushing the idea that every school in America should be connected to this system, so that all youngsters would have inexpensive access to this wonderful resource. He did not invent any of it, he was just a great politician taking advantage of a resource, to help further his career. I highly approve of his sactions. Whether he got the job done, or someone else does, the job needed to be done.
- True, me doing the same kind of thing, in jest, perhaps to offset me saying I am no relation to that "Al" guy ... some terrorist whose name starts with "Al".
- Now if I could just get a Wikipedia:Algorithm to avoid making spelling errors and typing errors. User:AlMac|(talk) 05:41, 10 January 2006 (UTC)

Userboxes in tandem?
editHow did you get your userboxes in those neat rows and columns three wide? All I can find on the Userboxes page is how to stack them just on top of each other. And, uh, I'm an uber-beginner at HTML. Lady BlahDeBlah 00:16, 13 January 2006 (UTC)
- Please check out User:GeekGirlSarah/Userboxes in the source. It's a giant, three-column table. :) ♥ GeekGirlSarah ♥ 01:21, 13 January 2006 (UTC)

Your socialism
editYou obviously mean well, and you appear to be an intelligent individual, so I cannot understand how you permitted yourself to be brainwashed by the despicable anti-liberty ideology of collectivism.
You would do well to familiarize yourself with the writings of the eminent 20th-century Russian-American philosopher Ayn Rand; hopefully you will discover that Objectivism (and its political counterpart--although the Anti-Reason Insitute denies it--Libertarianism). Kurt Weber 14:54, 4 April 2006 (UTC)
- Both collectivism and individualism have their merits and cons. As always as in anything else, it is a question of balance and applying the better/correct usage of one on a per-case scenario. -Ori Klein 11:18, 15 April 2006 (UTC)
- Actually, no. Though saying "you must find a balance" is a nice-sounding platitude, in truth it is absolutely wrong. Furthermore, collectivism has absolutely NO merits. There is no merit whatsoever in the wholly mistaken and despicably evil beliefs that altruism is a virtue and that the individual properly exists for the sake of others rather than for his own sake. Kurt Weber 15:30, 15 April 2006 (UTC)
- Again, depends on the degree you apply it. Naturally, leave it to the extremist and closed-minded desciples or those of mistaken perception to define either which will result in them being defined in their absolute globalic-encompassing form (the very same thinking-idiology which made communism the equal of humanity's bane in the eyes of many minds). But the truth is, nothing is to be taken as is or for granted. Military units, for an example, operate on the collevtive notion/perception rather than the individual one. Many countries employ a military, are the countries operating from the collective thesis base or the individual one? Balance, my friend, balance. And remember that wikipedia itself is far from being a reliable source. Interesting at that is that it tries to maintain somewhat of a compromise between both the absolute paths. Ori Klein 08:06, 16 April 2006 (UTC)
- Clearly, you don't understand the meaning of the words you are using. Individualism vs. collectivism is a matter of FUNDAMENTAL MOTIVES, not SUPERFICIAL APPEARANCES. If you can't get that through your febrile mind, don't pretend that you know what you're talking about anyway. Kurt Weber 13:18, 16 April 2006 (UTC)
- And right there is the reason I <3 Wikipedia so much. Ori Klein 16:06, 16 April 2006 (UTC)

US and EU
editDon't take this the wrong way, I mean, OK, we have no shortage of right wing cranks in the EU, but at least we no longer elect them to govern.. so how can you stand being in the US and under Bush and having no better choice than the Democrats to vote for? I'm always kind of amazed by that. Sometimes, over here, we get the distinct impression that the US has totally lost the plot and that if only we could get shot of you all the world would be a much better place! But then I only have to read your bio to see that that just isn't the case and that there are a lot of decent Americans out there after all. But hey, just in case you ever do need to bail out, we're a pretty welcoming bunch in Europe to all but Bushites, USEvangelists and assorted backwoods Rednecks. In the meantime, good luck etc.. 213.36.128.202 23:06, 23 February 2007 (UTC)

Barnstar
editHello, hope this finds you well. I noticed that The4325 left you a barnstar for "being Homosexual." He has since been blocked for adding defamatory content to Talk:Homosexuality. Just thought you should know, so that we can all have a collective laugh about the idiocy of homophobia. Have a wonderful holiday season, and nice to meet you by the way! I too am of Southeastern European descent, and my first name is also Sarah (although I don't generally use it). All 'da best! l'Aquatique talk 02:41, 10 December 2007 (UTC)
- And now I feel like an idiot! I just reread your name, it's Geek, not Greek! Well, I'm a geek too, but that's neither here nor there, right? Ugh, I need to go do something intelligence affirming... l'Aquatique talk 02:51, 10 December 2007 (UTC)
Borrowed Userbox Design
editI hope you don't mind; I borrowed your userbox design because it is totally awesome. Btw, I am a CS major at UIUC, and I was glad to run across the profile of another CS/CE person! You seem like a very nice person as well. :) Jwkpiano1 (talk) 02:43, 15 July 2008 (UTC)

Looking for help
editHello: My name is Ivan Robaina Bychko I am 18 years old and I am a Cuban wikipedian who works at the Spanish Wikipedia. Due my limited access to Wikipedia and Internet I would like to establish an e-mail communication with you in order to get from you some information about the every day life of the average American citizen and LGBT rights in America, so I could write an article about that topics in Spanish Wiki. If you are interested in helping me and for receiving further information, please write me at: nayesda.daria@medired.scu.sld.cu Hoping your answer, Ivan — Preceding unsigned comment added by 201.220.215.12 (talk) 18:30, 26 March 2013 (UTC)
