editHello, I'm Mako001. I noticed that you made a change to an article, South Asian ethnic groups, but you didn't provide a source. I’ve removed it for now, but if you’d like to include a citation to a reliable source and re-add it, please do so! If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Mako001 (C) (T) 🇺🇦 04:50, 24 November 2022 (UTC)
- Unfortunately user Gatorbearratica is continuing with their disruptive edits Adamv701 (talk) 16:12, 24 November 2022 (UTC)
Hello. Afghanistan is geographically located mostly in South Asia, while a tiny bit in Central Asia. I wouldn’t consider Afghanistan a Central Asian country just like I wouldn’t consider Egypt a West Asian country or Turkey being a European country. Phenotypically, Afghans look South Asian (they do not look like their Central Asian counterparts, and plus majority of Afghanistan is in South Asia as is the population). And phenotypically Bhutanese people look more East/Southeast Asian than any other South Asian country. There’s so much hypocrisy here but it’s probably based on Islamophobia, the West’s criticism of the Middle East when Afghanistan is South Asian not West Asian, and inaccurate opinions. Geography is more important than geopoliticism guys!! Gatorbearratica (talk) 05:00, 24 November 2022 (UTC)
Stop your disruptive edits. The sources you added are not even stating what you are trying to add. Additionally a consensus on the ethnic groups page had been reached a while back. On the south Asian American page, you are randomly adding sources which are completely unrelated to your argument and instead ignore sources from the census bureau and other reliable sources Adamv701 (talk) 15:46, 24 November 2022 (UTC)
Hello, please stop your disruptive edits. Your are ignoring sourced material and instead adding in your own personal opinions. Adamv701 (talk) 22:25, 25 November 2022 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Disappearance of Yuan Xia Wang
editIf this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Disappearance of Yuan Xia Wang requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from https://charleyproject.org/case/yuan-xia-wang. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Fram (talk) 13:15, 2 December 2022 (UTC)
Hello, Fram. Indeed, I should’ve not only used words and information from that one article, so I think someone else should make a page about the disappearance of Yuan Xia Wang, also it’s a good opportunity to add lesser known missing people, not just notable ones. If you or someone else can make a well sourced page of Yuan Xia Wang I would appreciate it. Sorry for any disturbances. Gatorbearratica (talk) 22:13, 2 December 2022 (UTC)

Hello, Fram. I made the article of Carolyn Bryant Donham, due to the fact she is a notable but infamous person in the case of Emmett Till. If you or anyone else would like to make a better and well sourced article about her, that would be much appreciated. Sorry for any disturbances. Gatorbearratica (talk) 22:15, 2 December 2022 (UTC)
Wikipedia and copyright
editHello Gatorbearratica! While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from sources to avoid copyright and plagiarism issues.
- You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
- Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify the information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
- We have strict guidelines on the usage of copyrighted images. Fair use images must meet all ten of the non-free content criteria in order to be used in articles, or they will be deleted. To be used on Wikipedia, all other images must be made available under a free and open copyright license that allows commercial and derivative reuse.
- If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. Understand, though, that unlike many other sites, where a person can license their content for use there and retain non-free ownership, that is not possible at Wikipedia. Rather, the release of content must be irrevocable, to the world, into either the public domain (PD) or under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. Please see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
- Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you must follow the copyright attribution steps described at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. See also Help:Translation#License requirements.
It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, please ask them here on this page, or leave a message on my talk page. Thank you. Whpq (talk) 14:26, 2 December 2022 (UTC)
Okay, I will try to not only use words from other articles. Gatorbearratica (talk) 22:14, 2 December 2022 (UTC)

editPlease refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at User:John Smith's. Your edits appear to constitute vandalism and have been reverted. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. Repeated vandalism may result in the loss of editing privileges. Thank you. S0091 (talk) 22:05, 4 December 2022 (UTC)
I let my friend use my account then so he might’ve done that anyways sorry for the inconvenience. Gatorbearratica (talk) 22:34, 4 December 2022 (UTC)
- You should NEVER let someone else use your account as doing so is against policy (see WP:NOSHARING and WP:My little brother did it). I need to you verify you have since changed your passwork, that no one else has your current password and will never share your password with anyone else. S0091 (talk) 22:44, 4 December 2022 (UTC)
- Pinging @JBW:, an admin just for awareness because I am not sure of the protocol in such situations. JBW, the edit was made back on November 25th. S0091 (talk) 22:50, 4 December 2022 (UTC)
Okay I will right now. Sorry I was unaware of not sharing accounts, but I will never again. Gatorbearratica (talk) 22:47, 4 December 2022 (UTC)
- Please confirm your account is secure and no one other than you has access. S0091 (talk) 22:54, 4 December 2022 (UTC)
Yes, I changed my password and confirmed. I told my friend that we are not friends anymore though. Gatorbearratica (talk) 22:55, 4 December 2022 (UTC)
- Thanks. To be clear, you are responsible for edits made on this account. Outside of limited exceptions you should only have one account and as noted above should never share it. I will let JBW decide if any other action is needed from an administrative perspective. As for your message on on my talk page, you are welcome to submit an article about Carolyn Bryant Donham if you can show she meets the notability guidelines. Above, it appears you did submit a draft but it was deleted as copyright violation. S0091 (talk) 23:09, 4 December 2022 (UTC)
Thank you, but I feel like someone else would be better at making a Carolyn Bryant Donham article. Maybe you or someone else would be better at making it. Gatorbearratica (talk) 23:14, 4 December 2022 (UTC)
- One more question, how long did your friend have access to your account? S0091 (talk) 23:20, 4 December 2022 (UTC)
1 day. Gatorbearratica (talk) 23:20, 4 December 2022 (UTC)
{{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}
. If you can persuade an administrator that unblocking you would be constructive, and that the problems which led to the block are over, and won't happen again, then they may unblock your account. JBW (talk) 09:31, 5 December 2022 (UTC)
Checking your editing history more extensively, I have found further problems, including the following. There is another case of gratuitously creating a user page for another editor, and although in that case you didn't post any offensive content, it is something you must stop doing. The content of your sandbox infringed copyright of at least two sources. You have put extensive effort into trying to impose your own interpretation of "south asian", despite the fact that you yourself have stated that the expression is usually used in a different sense than that which you have been trying to impose. Wikipedia seeks to record what things actually are usually called, not what particular Wikipedia editors wish they were usually called. If you are ever unblocked then don't return to that campaign. JBW (talk) 10:07, 5 December 2022 (UTC)
Unblock Request
editHello. I think I should be unblocked, because I vow not to do any vandalism nor let anyone have access to my account again, and use the talk page to decide whether an edit is appropriate. I am a young editor so I may make mistakes, but I truly am sorry for any disruption and mistakes I have caused. Gatorbearratica (talk) 22:30, 8 December 2022 (UTC)
