License tagging for Image:VoIPVoIP logo.gif
editThanks for uploading Image:VoIPVoIP logo.gif. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:
This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 08:07, 17 January 2007 (UTC)

Alpha3031 (t • c) 03:44, 27 October 2024 (UTC)Speedy deletion nomination of NexDock
editIf this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on NexDock, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. MrOllie (talk) 03:51, 27 December 2024 (UTC)

editHello Emrekosmaz. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being employed (or being compensated in any way) by a person, group, company or organization to promote their interests. Paid advocacy on Wikipedia must be disclosed even if you have not specifically been asked to edit Wikipedia. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.
Paid advocates are strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.
Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Emrekosmaz. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Emrekosmaz|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}
. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. MrOllie (talk) 03:52, 27 December 2024 (UTC)

- FYI, I am the founder of NexDock, and as far as I know it is not outright forbidden for a company founder to create or edit an article about their own company on Wikipedia. While I have a personal connection to the subject, I have made every effort to adhere to Wikipedia’s guidelines on neutrality and verifiability. My goal is to contribute factual, well-sourced, and encyclopedic content that adds value to the platform. I also created the articles on Lapdock and Windows Continuum because I have expertise in these topics. I believe they are relevant to the broader context of technological innovation and provide valuable historical and technical information. While I have made every effort to write these articles with a neutral point of view and cite reliable sources, I welcome input from other editors to improve them further. . Given that you are writing about your own business, that puts you automatically within our paid-editing rules. Please make the necessary disclosure now; this is a hard requirement under our terms and conditions of use, not an optional extra. Thank you. -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 07:13, 27 December 2024 (UTC)- Hi DoubleGrazing, I’m really sorry—I didn’t realize that my connection to NexDock meant I needed to disclose under the paid-editing rules. Thank you for pointing this out. I added a disclosure to my user page. Emrekosmaz (talk) 07:25, 27 December 2024 (UTC)

- Hello MrOllie. I would like to apologize for my previous response; I honestly had no idea that I needed to disclose my role as the founder of NexDock. I noticed you removed all mentions of NexDock from related Wikipedia articles, including Lapdock, and I want to share why I believe those references were relevant. We essentially created the Lapdock computer hardware category in 2016, starting with a lapdock for Windows phones. We then introduced the first Lapdock for the Raspberry Pi[1], and the first Lapdock for the Intel Compute Card. After Intel ended support for the Compute Card[2], we developed the first Lapdock for Samsung DeX and have continued working on lapdocks ever since. Because we are a small startup with no outside funding, you might not have come across NexDock before — we simply haven’t had the budget for widespread marketing. However, if you take a few minutes to watch NexDock reviews and user comments on YouTube, you’ll see that thousands of people appreciate our lapdocks. They use them not only with smartphones, but also with devices like the Steam Deck and mini PCs. I realize I may sound biased as a founder, but removing all mention of NexDock may inadvertently remove helpful information for readers who want a complete picture of the lapdock category’s evolution. I hope you will reconsider your decision and perhaps do a bit more research into NexDock’s role in this space. Thank you for your time.

- Wikipedia is expressly not a catalog or a place to list products. We should not include mentions of your company or its products in articles about generic concepts. I'm happy that lots of people in youtube comment sections like them, but that has no bearing on Wikipedia at all. MrOllie (talk) 19:28, 27 December 2024 (UTC)
