Your contributed article, First person visited all countries

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, I noticed that you recently created a new page, First person visited all countries. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page – Kashi Samaddar. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at Kashi Samaddar – you might like to discuss new information at the article's talk page.

If you think the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. Everymorning talk 18:26, 23 April 2015 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of File:Kashi Samaddar India.jpg

edit

A tag has been placed on File:Kashi Samaddar India.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image is an unused redundant copy (all pixels the same or scaled down) of an image in the same file format, which is on Wikipedia (not on Commons), and all inward links have been updated.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Please do not add commentary or your own personal analysis to Wikipedia articles, as you did to List of people by number of countries visited. Help me, please! Kashi Samaddar article

edit

I have studied, edited & improved Kashi Samaddar with proper links but some one or two retaining mistakes, seems intentional. For example:

- Date Of World Record is 27th May 2008 but half truth with May 2008 is put.

- Error report of Daily Mail "All 201" Countries are maintained forcefully favoring Mr Graham Hughes who got Guinness Certificate for 193 Countries, not 201.Mr Samaddar objected to the error and this errors should not be part of his article.

- "List of people visited by number of Countries" is tagged on Kashi when Mr Bown & Mr Chris have no certificate from Guinness or others (They just have one or two news paper articles as given to understand to Journalists. Without certificate, Truth is in question? and wikipedia must avoid contradictory news for Truth.

- Kashi Samaddar is important person with four prestigious World Records including the "First person visited all Countries at South Sudan on 09th July 2011 & Kosovo on 27th May 2008" recognized by World bodies including Guinness & covered around the World, but at Wikipedia, due to mistakes of few editors, kepping with errors for over 14 months- they are spoiling good image of Wikipedia.

- Kashi Samaddar Linkedin profile says that he is a Business Executive turned Adventurer and not a Businessman but error news of Daily Mail is forced on him ignoring other media & Truth.

In fact, I can write his whole biography (Would be large) but doubt that some one at wikipedia will erase as Vandalism. Kindly look into the matter and put corrected version by me or advise.

Please help me with... Editwikigu (talk) 16:40, 5 May 2015 (UTC)Reply

If you have some trustworthy reference, please put it. DO NOT just copy it from somewhere and paste that to article. Read it and they type it. Where there should be citations, add it. It doesn't matter how much you know until it can't be found in the citations.
  • Just don't copy paste.Content that violates any copyrights will be deleted. Encyclopedic content must be verifiable. Work submitted to Wikipedia can be edited, used, and redistributed—by anyone—subject to certain terms and conditions.
  • Properly cite it.

Referencing

edit

Hi, you are not formatting references properly. Please see Wikipedia:Citing sources for information on how to do it properly. You must not use double braces ''{{'' and ''}}'', they do not do what you think they do. Cheers YSSYguy (talk) 07:15, 7 May 2015 (UTC)Reply

Please see Help:Referencing for beginners for information on how to reference properly, there is more to it than just pasting a URL between <ref> and </ref>. Look at Template:Cite news and Template:Cite web as well. Thank you YSSYguy (talk) 00:51, 14 May 2015 (UTC)Reply

Hi Editwikigu:

Let me see if I can explain referencing a little bit. I see you've been told not to simply write the URL between two sets of curly brackets, like this: <ref>{{http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/india/Modi-govt-has-no-intention-to-bring-black-money-Ram-Jethmalani/articleshow/46372130.cms}}</ref> What you're doing now, a bare URL - <ref>http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/india/Modi-govt-has-no-intention-to-bring-black-money-Ram-Jethmalani/articleshow/46372130.cms</ref> - is better. It would be a little better yet if you put square brackets around the URL: <ref>[http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/india/Modi-govt-has-no-intention-to-bring-black-money-Ram-Jethmalani/articleshow/46372130.cms]</ref>; that makes a blue number, and looks neater. However, it is much better if you give more information than just the URL. That can be done in two ways. One is to type out the information, with the URL followed by the article title within square brackets: <ref>[http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/india/Modi-govt-has-no-intention-to-bring-black-money-Ram-Jethmalani/articleshow/46372130.cms "Modi govt has no intention to bring black money: Ram Jethmalani"], ''Times of India'', 25 February 2015</ref>. (I have also italicised the name of the newspaper and put italics on the article title/headline, as these are conventional punctuation. I don't see a news agency or a reporter named as author of the article; if there had been one, I would have put that name first.) The other is to use citation templates; they are the things that have double curly brackets around them. There are several, listed here. They are not mandatory, and many people who use them have installed a little programme that fills them in automatically from the reference URL. Personally I find them a challenge. But if you do use them, note that the items do not all need to be filled out, and can be in any order within the template. You would probably most use "cite news", so here is the same reference done that way (I have left the fields for author and news agency blank to show you their names): <ref>{{cite news |first= |last= |agency= |title=Modi govt has no intention to bring black money: Ram Jethmalani |url=http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/india/Modi-govt-has-no-intention-to-bring-black-money-Ram-Jethmalani/articleshow/46372130.cms |newspaper=Times of India |date=25 February 2015 }}</ref> The output from the citation templates is in a different order than my example of just typing it in.

I hope that helps a bit? Yngvadottir (talk) 08:48, 14 May 2015 (UTC)Reply

Nomination of Kashi Samaddar for deletion

edit

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Kashi Samaddar is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Kashi Samaddar (2nd nomination) until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article.

I notice you have asked above about this article, so I think you should know that it has been nominated for deletion. You may want to make an argument at the discussion for why you believe the article should be kept. Note that the best argument for keeping the article is that there are many articles about him in different newspapers (and not all from the same news agency), so given what's been said higher up on this page, you should see how many more you can find. Extensive coverage in independent sources is the main way Wikipedia defines "notability". (See this page for a summary.) Yngvadottir (talk) 08:48, 14 May 2015 (UTC)Reply

Same person?

edit

I have to ask: are you and User:Editwikig the same person? Your account names are almost identical and you both made edits to WP:REFUND requesting that the page for Kashi Samaddar be kept. If you are, then you should only be editing under one account unless you have a valid reason for editing under two accounts (ie, one for use while editing at a public location, one for home). If this is the case then you will need to post this on both user pages and give an explanation for this. If not, then please be aware that this is considered WP:SOCKPUPPETRY and can lead to you getting blocked from editing- especially if a WP:SPI check shows that the two accounts are used by the same person. Sockpuppet investigation

edit

Hi. An editor has opened an investigation into sockpuppetry by you. Sockpuppetry is the use of more than one Wikipedia account in a manner that contravenes community policy. The investigation is being held at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Editwikig, where the editor who opened the investigation has presented their evidence. Please make sure you make yourself familiar with the guide to responding to investigations, and then feel free to offer your own evidence or to submit comments that you wish to be considered by the Wikipedia administrator who decides the result of the investigation. If you have been using multiple accounts (in a manner contrary to Wikipedia policy), please go to the investigation page and verify that now. Leniency is usually shown to those who promise not to do so again, or who did so unwittingly, but the abuse of multiple accounts is taken very seriously by the Wikipedia community. YSSYguy (talk) 06:16, 16 May 2015 (UTC)Reply
