- @Diptanshu.D: and @Guru-45:, well, I'd prefer at least some images to be present in the article. Yes, of course those images can be (those probably already are) put in the commons category. However, an average reader usually just surfs through an article, hardly clicks the commons category. So, images immensely increases the value of the article. Now, ideally those images should be incorporated into the body of the article, rather than in a separate gallery section. However, this article is not very well developed, and having a gallery section may be ok.--Dwaipayan (talk) 16:24, 27 January 2014 (UTC)

Better source request for File:Subroto01.jpg
Thanks for your upload to Wikipedia:
You provided a source, but it is difficult for other users to examine the copyright status of the image because the source is incomplete. Please consider clarifying the exact source so that the copyright status may be checked more easily. It is best to specify the exact Web page where you found the image, rather than only giving the source domain or the URL of the image file itself. Please update the image description with a URL that will be more helpful to other users in determining the copyright status.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source in a complete manner. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page or me at my talk page. Thank you. Message delivered by Theo's Little Bot (opt-out) 03:10, 9 February 2014 (UTC)

Main Page appearance: Sholay
This is a note to let the main editors of Sholay know that the article will be appearing as today's featured article on March 8, 2014. If this article needs any attention or maintenance, it would be preferable if that could be done before its appearance on the Main Page. If you prefer that the article appear as TFA on a different date, or not at all, please ask Bencherlite (talk · contribs). You can view the TFA blurb at Wikipedia:Today's featured article/March 8, 2014. If it needs tweaking, or if it needs rewording to match improvements to the article between now and its main page appearance, please edit it, following the instructions at Wikipedia:Today's featured article/requests/instructions. The blurb as it stands now is below:
Sholay is a 1975 action-adventure Indian Hindi film directed by Ramesh Sippy and produced by G. P. Sippy. Shot in the rocky terrain of Ramanagara (pictured), the film follows two criminals, Veeru and Jai (played by Dharmendra and Amitabh Bachchan), hired by a retired police officer (Sanjeev Kumar) to capture the ruthless dacoit Gabbar Singh (Amjad Khan). When first released, Sholay received negative critical reviews and a tepid commercial response, but favourable word-of-mouth publicity helped it to become a box office success. It broke records for continuous showings in many theatres across India, and ran for more than five years at Mumbai's Minerva theatre. The film drew heavily from the conventions of Westerns, and is a defining example of the masala genre. The film's dialogues and certain characters became extremely popular, contributing to numerous cultural memes and becoming part of India's daily vernacular. In 2002, Sholay ranked first in the British Film Institute's list of "Top 10 Indian Films" of all time. It was re-released in 3D in January 2014. (Full article...)

- If there are no free images available then how is it possible to contact the authors? The still photographers of the film would be having such images, but contacting them (that too before the specified date) and getting the images uploaded here is highly impossible. —Vensatry (Ping) 18:54, 21 February 2014 (UTC)
- It's unfortunate, but true. Other option is main page without image. I think at least having this image is better. Use of such terrain in Hindi films not common now, and was not very usual in those days either. So, this may give some idea about the setting. Of course, cast image would have been much much better.--Dwaipayan (talk) 19:17, 21 February 2014 (UTC)

FA congratulations
Just a quick note to congratulate you on the promotion of Pather Panchali to FA status recently. If you would like to see this (or any other FA) appear as "Today's featured article" soon (either on a particular date or on any available date), please nominate it at the requests page. If you'd like to see an FA appear on a particular date in the next year or so, please add it to the "pending" list. In the absence of a request, the article may end up being picked at any time (although with about 1,307 articles waiting their turn at present, there's no telling how long – or short! – the wait might be). If you'd got any TFA-related questions or problems, please let me know. BencherliteTalk 18:27, 1 June 2014 (UTC)
