Reverting edits continuously
editWhy do you continue to revert my edits after I have asked you to provide an edit summary? I would like an explanation and a reason why you don’t want the map section to be in demography. ElMexicanotres (talk) 20:42, 20 October 2024 (UTC)
- I am reverting them because the map is the first thing that an article about races should have, in terms of demographics it only shows us how much the Afro-Colombian population grew from 1912 to 2024. Colombia is not the only country that has this but also Brazil and the United States. I apologize if we're having a conflict with editing articles and it is not something I wish to have. I just hope we can agree it. Dedwell243 (talk) 20:52, 20 October 2024 (UTC)
- That way the article becomes more relevant when showing the map of African descendant distribution throughout Colombian municipalities and departments. Dedwell243 (talk) 20:54, 20 October 2024 (UTC)
- Ok, I thought you were reverting them to edit war or vandalize, I view edit summaries as essential to describe why one is making the edit. By the way, I believe we should have a similar set up for indigenous Colombians and Afro Colombians where a census number is shown and then the estimation given by scholars and other sources just in case there is any undercounting for each ethnic group because that seems to be the case in the article. ElMexicanotres (talk) 20:56, 20 October 2024 (UTC)
- I totally agree that the same should be done with indigenous Colombian population and like I said I wasn't reverting your edits to have any type of conflicts, is simply because as people continued adding more sources on the Demographics tab, I moved the map to the top of the article so that I makes it more relevant, I hope that if we do this with the Indigenous Colombian it also becomes more relevant than what it was before. Dedwell243 (talk) 21:02, 20 October 2024 (UTC)
- Oh nevermind, I just found out that you already made an edit in the Indigenous peoples in Colombia article and it looks better now, thank you very much. Dedwell243 (talk) 21:10, 20 October 2024 (UTC)
- I was wondering, as you have a Spanish Wikipedia account if you could transfer these edits (about the map in the infobox, the population history, and the census number, estimation number and range estimation from the infobox) to the Spanish page. ElMexicanotres (talk) 01:30, 21 October 2024 (UTC)
- Absolutely, I could do that but it will take time because the English articles are easier to make edits than in the Spanish ones. Dedwell243 (talk) 01:35, 21 October 2024 (UTC)
- So, I have been trying to edit the Spanish version of the Afro-Colombian article but since the coding is different in Spanish, it makes it difficult for me to put 2 maps in the main images because there is also a map that shows the Afro-Colombian population by department/state. Regarding demographics, the maps should not show but only the numbers of the Afro-Colombian population and how it has grown over the years just like the English version of the article. When you can, could you help me change it? Dedwell243 (talk) 20:27, 21 October 2024 (UTC)
- The article is currently very disorganized because you can still see the source codes within the visual version. Dedwell243 (talk) 20:33, 21 October 2024 (UTC)
- Map of Afro-colombians by department/state Dedwell243 (talk) 20:37, 21 October 2024 (UTC)
- If anything, just make sure you add those 2 maps in the infobox while I make sure I edit the regions and the specific departments or states the majority of the Afro-Colombian population lives in. This is the article; Afro-colombianoss Dedwell243 (talk) 21:11, 21 October 2024 (UTC)
- Alright, I’ll make the edits ElMexicanotres (talk) 03:10, 22 October 2024 (UTC)
- Thank you, I'll try to edit other things within the article Dedwell243 (talk) 12:18, 22 October 2024 (UTC)

- I believe you should replace the outdated 2005 Afro Colombian distribution map with the more recent one from 2018 in the English and Spanish pages ElMexicanotres (talk) 01:09, 23 October 2024 (UTC)
- I've been trying to find the 2018 map on Wikimedia commons but sadly there's only the 2005 one. Dedwell243 (talk) 01:31, 23 October 2024 (UTC)
- There's a more recent one but it only shows departments, or I think it's better to place that one without removing the one that it shows municipalities, besides, it is very accurate because the Choco department has a higher afrocolombian population and it hasn't changed from 2005. It still looks very identical to the recent one. Dedwell243 (talk) 01:35, 23 October 2024 (UTC)
- I think I've shown it before but this is the more recent one I was talking about, I think it will be a great idea to add it on the infobox right below the first one with municipalities. Afro-colombian population by department. Dedwell243 (talk) 03:18, 23 October 2024 (UTC)
- If the departments map is added in the article I also think is a good idea to put the checking circles, for example
- Show map of municipalities
- Show map of departments
- Show all Dedwell243 (talk) 11:59, 23 October 2024 (UTC)
- Its a great idea since anyone that wants to read this article in both languages, don't have to see 2 maps at the same time but one at a time. Dedwell243 (talk) 15:44, 23 October 2024 (UTC)
