Speedy deletion nomination of Tiffany Springs waterpark

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Tiffany Springs waterpark, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Proposed deletion of Dooors

edit

The article Dooors has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Lack of sources, no indication of notability

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.   Please stop your disruptive editing, as you did at Dionne quintuplets. Your edits have been reverted or removed.

Do not continue to make edits that appear disruptive until the dispute is resolved through consensus. Continuing to edit disruptively may result in your being blocked from editing. do not re-add the contested category without gaining consensus on the talk page. Your inability to provide a reliable source is indicative that your opinion does not carry enough weight to be included in the article. WP:BRD requires you to prove on the talk page that your edit should be in place. Just putting it back is considered edit warring and can lead to your being blocked from editing. noq (talk) 08:17, 15 May 2013 (UTC)Reply

This is your last warning. The next time you add unsourced material to Wikipedia, as you did at Dionne quintuplets, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. A random blog is not a reliable source. As stated previously you need reliable sources and to gain consensus on the articles talk page - not just reverting and shouting in the edit summaries. As this is your final warning, if you again revert without gaining consensus you are very likely to be blocked from editing until you decide to play by the rules. noq (talk) 06:30, 16 May 2013 (UTC)Reply

You have been blocked from editing, for persistent disruptive editing. Some of your edits are the sort of things which might, coming from a new user, be innocent mistakes due to lack of understanding of Wikipedia, but you are way beyond that stage. Some of your edits seem to be infantile "jokes", but, whatever may or may not be acceptable in talk pages or Wikipeida-space pages, joke edits of publicly visible articles are unacceptable. However, even if we make the maximum possible allowance for those two categories of disruptive edits, we are still left with a significant number of edits which are simply unadulterated vandalism, such as this, this, and many more. The length of the block, 1 week, is a compromise. It takes into account the fact that you have not been blocked before, but also the fact that you have received far more than enough warnings, including a "final" warning in February 2012. You should have been blocked after that, and if you continue in the same way you are likely to be blocked for far longer, perhaps indefinitely. If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first.

You may wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles. See the Article Wizard.

Thank you.

The article Southwest Swim Club has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This was done because the article, which appeared to be about a real person, individual animal, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, did not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the notability of the subject may be deleted at any time. If you can indicate why the subject is really notable, you are free to re-create the article, making sure to cite any verifiable sources.

Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and for specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for musicians, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. JamesBWatson (talk) 10:56, 19 September 2013 (UTC)Reply

From your unblock request during the time when you were blocked in the past, it seems that you are of the opinion that making a number of constructive edits somehow makes it acceptable to also make vandalism edits. That is a view which is not generally shared by the Wikipedia community, and certainly not one that I share. I see that since that block you have continued to intersperse vandalism and "joke" edits among other, more constructive edits, and also that you still continue to create unsuitable articles, despite the numerous deletions and messages about doing so. You have therefore been blocked again, this time for three months. That is a large jump up from the length of the last block, but, as explained in your last block notice, it takes into account the fact that you have been receiving messages about your disruptive editing for a long time (since December 2010), and it also takes into account the fact that you were warned that any more vandalism would be likely to lead to a much longer block. It appears that you tried to give SQL a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into another page with a different name. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page. This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Cut-and-paste-move repair holding pen. Thank you. • Well, here's what I wanted to ask you, Andy. I tried to do a conventional move in order to "swap" the two pages, but Wikipedia wouldn't allow me to for some reason. I was blocked for three months for vandalism earlier on, but my block expired on 19 December 2013 and I haven't been re-blocked (or even received a warning) for nearly a month since then. Could you get someone to please explain what's been going on with the page (or offer one yourself if you're an admin?) In any case, whenever we get to the bottom of this, just have whatever authority on the matter leave a message on my talk page. Thank you very much, User:Davidfreesefan23 (talk) 22:40, 13 January 2014 (UTC)Reply
I'm not an admin, I'm not trying to block anyone, I used the warning template in the hope that its links would point you at relevant explanations.
There are two issues here: should it be moved?, how to move it? I would suggest that both of these are better addressed at talk:SQL.
Should it be moved? No and not yet. No, because of WP:COMMONNAME. Not yet, because making a substantial rename like this to a high-traffic page should always be discussed beforehand and only carried out with solid consensus behind it. In this case, I'd be amazed if such a consensus could be achieved.
How to move it requires the page to be moved by an admin. There are tags to request this. What we can't do is to copy-paste move it, as you did here, because that loses the page's edit history and copyright attribution trail. Andy Dingley (talk) 22:52, 13 January 2014 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for the pointers. User:Davidfreesefan23 (talk) 22:58, 13 January 2014 (UTC)Reply

Deletion discussion about Boundary of London

edit

Hello, Davidfreesefan23,

I wanted to let you know that there's a discussion about whether Boundary of London should be deleted. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Boundary of London .

If you're new to the process, articles for deletion is a group discussion (not a vote!) that usually lasts seven days. If you need it, there is a guide on how to contribute. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that you've added some links pointing to disambiguation pages. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Blocked

edit

I've blocked you as you are clearly not here to help build an encyclopedia. -- John Reaves 01:34, 24 January 2014 (UTC)Reply

This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Request reason:

Please tell me what I did wrong after my second block. Point out a few examples to tell me that your block is justified. Many of my edits have been reverted, but I received NO vandalism warnings on my talk page ever since the second block (as opposed to a whole bunch before). Most of my edits, at least to me, seemed to be of a non-vandal or otherwise good-faith nature, even if they didn't necessarily belong. This block is shocking, and frankly, I consider it a travesty. I had thought about "retiring" earlier (in a fit of angry rage displayed in the edit summary), but now I've calmed down and I'm willing to give this another shot, if the admins are ever to do likewise. If anything, you could at least look over my contributions for the last month. If you compare them to all the stuff before the second block, the contributions seem to be less disruptive, even if not all of them are exactly helpful. If you don't unblock me, at least I would like you to explain your reasoning for the block. That would make me feel much better.

Decline reason:

Reasons for the block, if I were the one considering whether to block you or not: This, this and this. None of them in any way productive edits. — Daniel Case (talk) 04:41, 24 January 2014 (UTC)Reply

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Flamestinguisher listed at Redirects for discussion

edit

An editor has asked for a discussion to address the redirect Flamestinguisher. Since you had some involvement with the Flamestinguisher redirect, you might want to participate in the redirect discussion if you have not already done so. noq (talk) 19:34, 24 January 2014 (UTC)Reply
