italics, minus signs

Please look at this edit. Note that

• A minus sign is not a mere hyphen.

right: 2n − 1

wrong: 2n - 1

• Parentheses and digits should no be italicized.

right: 2(n + 1)

wronte: 2(n + 1)

• I set some initial letters in lower case.

Got it. Thank you for the helpful advice about typesetting math in Wikipedia. I'm used to LaTeX, but not this strange mix of LaTeX and html we use here.David Schwein (talk) 02:54, 1 July 2018 (UTC)
