After having served one year as president of the league, Marie S Edwards requested that the organization's constitution be amended to allow headquarters to be relocated to Peru, IN where she lived. This did happen and Peru, IN became the League Headquarters between April 1918 and April 1919. When Mrs. Helen Benbridge of Terre Haute was elected in April 1919, the headquarters were moved to Terre Haute. However the League would "always be headquarters in Indianapolis during a session of the legislature".
