editHello, I'm Rhododendrites. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions to Cost estimation in software engineering have been undone because they appeared to be promotional. Advertising and using Wikipedia as a "soapbox" are against Wikipedia policy and not permitted; Wikipedia articles should be written objectively, using independent sources, and from a neutral perspective. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you. — Rhododendrites talk \\ 17:30, 11 March 2018 (UTC)
Hello, I'm Hulmem. I noticed that you made one or more changes to an article, Software development effort estimation, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so! If you need guidance on referencing, please see the referencing for beginners tutorial, or if you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. hulmem (talk) 15:11, 12 March 2018 (UTC)

editPlease do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia. Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include, but are not limited to, links to personal websites, links to websites with which you are affiliated (whether as a link in article text, or a citation in an article), and links that attract visitors to a website or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Because Wikipedia uses the nofollow attribute value, its external links are disregarded by most search engines. If you feel the link should be added to the page, please discuss it on the associated talk page rather than re-adding it. [1] MrOllie (talk) 12:15, 23 February 2019 (UTC)
Managing a conflict of interest
editHello, Colinrhammond. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:
- avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, company, organization or competitors;
- propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (see the {{request edit}} template);
- disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see WP:DISCLOSE);
- avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
- do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).
Also please note that editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. MrOllie (talk) 14:01, 23 February 2019 (UTC)

editHello. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.
When editing Wikipedia, there is a field labeled "Edit summary" below the main edit box. It looks like this:
Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)
I noticed your recent edit to Test automation does not have an edit summary. Please be sure to provide a summary of every edit you make, even if you write only the briefest of summaries. The summaries are very helpful to people browsing an article's history.
Edit summary content is visible in:
Please use the edit summary to explain your reasoning for the edit, or a summary of what the edit changes. You can give yourself a reminder to add an edit summary by setting Preferences → Editing → Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary. Thanks! Walter Görlitz (talk) 21:22, 26 February 2019 (UTC)

editPlease do not add promotional material to Wikipedia, as you did to Requirements analysis. While objective prose about beliefs, organisations, people, products or services is acceptable, Wikipedia is not a vehicle for soapboxing, advertising or promotion. Thank you. MrOllie (talk) 20:39, 13 December 2019 (UTC)
Please do not add unsourced or original content, as you did with this edit to Software requirements. Doing so violates Wikipedia's verifiability policy. If you continue to do so, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. DVdm (talk) 15:25, 14 December 2019 (UTC)
The activity of requirements analysis has now been significantly automated by our tool ScopeMaster, yes I have a COI, so I am not permitted to contribute myself. But this page is out of date and lacks credibility, I'd be grateful if someone would contribute or sanction a contribution that the world has moved on from whiteboards. ScopeMaster analyses software requirements for 10 different category of attribute (five types of ambiguity, duplication, completeness, measurability, consistency, user-orientedness and traceability to business value. It would be a shame if Wikipedia does not move with the times.

- Thank you @Theroadislong for reviewing my article on ScopeMaster. I have attempted to neutralise the language, do you have any specific suggestions or recommendations? Colinrhammond (talk) 17:02, 22 November 2023 (UTC)
- @Colinrhammond: Please find something else to write about, beyond subjects you have a vested interest in. If indeed ScopeMaster is an appropriate subject for an encyclopedia, someone else will write about it given time. Curb Safe Charmer (talk) 20:55, 23 November 2023 (UTC)
- Thanks Curb Safe Charmer. Whilst I do have a vested interest, at least my contributed content is accurate. Is it worthy of an encyclopaedia entry, well, it is the world's first commercial requirements analyser. It's also the world's first product that automates software sizing (a hitherto unsolved problem) so we think it is noteworthy, important and academically scrutinised. - Thank you for reviewing my Draft @Voorts I made many changes to neutralise the article since the previous review. The person on the help chat encourage me to focus on reviews and citations, which I did. I am starting to run out of ideas to "neutralise" it further. Do you have any specific suggestions that I can follow to make it more acceptable? Colinrhammond (talk) 18:38, 22 November 2023 (UTC)
- As per my comment on your draft, the your content is what we might expect to see on your own website, Wikipedia however is not interested in that, we need to see what reliable, independent sources have chosen to say about the topic NOT what you want to say. Theroadislong (talk) 19:03, 22 November 2023 (UTC)

The page Draft:ScopeMaster has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This was done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seemed to be unambiguous advertising which only promoted a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to have been fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic.
