DYK for Naomi Nover
On 23 January 2018, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Naomi Nover, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that White House correspondent Naomi Nover once assaulted Bernie Boston while Mother Teresa and Ronald Reagan "looked on in total amazement"? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Naomi Nover. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, Naomi Nover), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.
Request on 01:07:20, 24 January 2018 for assistance on AfC submission by Erochford
Quick question about the Jay Sidie draft page. When you do a Google search of Jay Sidie the return results feature a large box with a link that would usually lead to a Wikipedia page, along with pictures of him, links to his pages, links to pages of other politicians. I didn't get this type of result for most of the other current political candidates in Kansas. I am wondering if this type of result plays any role in determining the legitimacy of a politician Wkipedia page. Or if it is mostly national and international features that are required. Thank you. Erochford (talk) 01:07, 24 January 2018 (UTC)
- Hi Erochford - the box you saw is called a Knowledge Graph and exists because the campaign has good SEO. Wikipedia's policies for unelected political candidates, as they probably apply to Jay Sidie are as follows:
- Candidates who ran but never were elected for a national legislature or other national office are not viewed as having inherent notability and are often deleted or merged into lists of campaign hopefuls, such as Ontario New Democratic Party candidates, 1995 Ontario provincial election, or into articles detailing the specific race in question, such as United States Senate election in Nevada, 2010. Note that such articles are still subject to the same content policies as any other article, and may not contain any unsourced biographical information that would not be acceptable in a separate article.
- Of course, these policies are trumped if there is something else about Jay Sidie - other than merely being a losing candidate - that has generated attention, but that doesn't seem to be the case here. Even his own website says "Jay Sidie may be an unknown" ... - a fact which, if true (and it seems to be), would specifically disqualify him from an article on Wikipedia. Biographies on Wikipedia are only for notable people so it would be hard to justify a biography on Jay Sidie if even Jay Sidie himself acknowledges he's not notable. (However, if he's elected then he would certainly warrant an article.) Chetsford (talk) 01:09, 25 January 2018 (UTC)

Request on 00:54:16, 26 January 2018 for assistance on AfC submission by Clare Cunningham
Hi there Chetsford,
Hope this finds you well. I can see that my page https://en.wiki.x.io/wiki/Clare_Cunningham_(musician) has not been approved for re-submission. I'm not sure if you personally need more information from myself as the musician for citings? I obtain more than one of the evidence that is needed to be a notable musician so just need to know how I can have my page put back up? I didn't create the page myself please just let me know what is best to do. many thanks for your time, Clare Clare Cunningham (talk) 00:54, 26 January 2018 (UTC)

- Hi Clare Cunningham - can you please review WP:MUSICBIO and let me know which of the criteria the subject of the article meets and I'll re-review it in case I made an error. Chetsford (talk) 00:58, 26 January 2018 (UTC)

- Great Clare Cunningham - in that case you just need to update the draft with reliable sources unambiguously showing one of the following -
- Which national music chart £Clare Cunningham rated on and where she rated, (I don't see anything in the draft about this right now)
- Which major record label Clare Cunningham has released albums on, (at the present time the draft only shows she's released albums on Low Medium High Records and not a major label like Sony or Warner)
- Which major radio network has placed Clare Cunningham in rotation, (I don't see anything in the draft about this right now)
- Where she has appeared in "multiple, non-trivial, published works" (i.e. substantial profiles in mainstream newspapers, scholarly journals, or published books, but excluding social media, blogs, fan sites, press releases, etc., and also excluding events and concert listings).
- If you have any questions, or when the draft is updated, let me know. Chetsford (talk) 17:46, 29 January 2018 (UTC)
No problem!
I charted at number 26 with my band Thundermother in the Swedish charts in 2015 with our first album 'Rock n roll Disaster'. http://www.swedishcharts.com/showitem.asp?interpret=Thundermother&titel=Rock+%27N%27+Roll+Disaster&cat=a
That same album was released with major label Warner Music, Sweden. There's many sites to attribute to this. Such as amazon, iTunes etc. On the spotty page you can scroll down and see that Warner music are the label associated with it.
https://open.spotify.com/album/6O5SugUBWPwfwrQzwoT2qR
Failing that I have the record contract that I can attach if need be?
All major articles and newspaper's and interviews with radio stations are accessible via my website. The articles all have the links directing to the main source online so if you need to check these out please do via this link : https://www.clarecunninghammusic.com/press
Please let me know if you need any other information or proof thanks, Clare
Clare Cunningham (talk) 18:41, 29 January 2018 (UTC)
- Great, Clare Cunningham. On the basis of it appearing at 26 on the Sverigetopplistan, it should be no problem approving. You'll just need to add it to the article draft. Chetsford (talk) 18:51, 29 January 2018 (UTC)
Ok fantastic thank you. As I didn't set up the page myself I have never actually edited a draft before so I will do my best now and if anything looks incorrect please let me know, Many thanks, clare.

I would like more detailed feedback on why the article was rejected. As to what sources were insufficient.
- Hi Martelldesu - please review WP:MUSICBIO and let me know which of the criteria the subject of this article meets and I'd be happy to re-review it. Chetsford (talk) 16:43, 26 January 2018 (UTC)
Rollback granted
Hi Chetsford. After reviewing your request for "rollbacker", I have enabled rollback on your account. Keep in mind these things when going to use rollback:
- Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle.
- Rollback should be used to revert clear cases of vandalism only, and not good faith edits.
- Rollback should never be used to edit war.
- If abused, rollback rights can be revoked.
- Use common sense.
If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Wikipedia:Administrators' guide/Rollback (even though you're not an admin). I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into troubles or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Thank you for helping to reduce vandalism. Happy editing! TonyBallioni (talk) 02:21, 27 January 2018 (UTC)
JPL

JPL is a serial deletionist. There isn't an article he doesn't want to delete. I don't know what your 87% match rate really is, but based on the number of of delete ivotes he makes, a 13 percent failure rate is a pretty crappy number. Most AfDs result in delete by default. I don't know where you found the calculation but against those odds I'd bet my success rate is a hell of a lot higher. That aside, JPL is a particular problem I have had issues with. He has maliciously vandalized an article under discussion. He lost the right to AGF. Unfortunately, he was on the winning side in that debate so I have had to retain it on my personal page in order to revive later. I made a mistake in not filing an incident on him then. He remains a thorn in the side to any reasonable efforts to retain content. Do not go too far out on a limb to defend him. Trackinfo (talk) 19:16, 27 January 2018 (UTC)
- "a 13 percent failure rate is a pretty crappy number" - Just a FYI, you have a 24% mismatch rate on AfDs. "JPL is a particular problem I have had issues with" I don't mean for this to come across as dismissive, but it would be great if you could work out any problems you have with him either directly or through one of the established dispute resolution processes like ANI, rather than dragging them into unrelated AfDs. I don't know either of you and, while I'm sure the dispute between you two is important and don't want to diminish that, it's just not something I find interesting enough that I'd like to become involved with. I hope you understand. Thanks. Chetsford (talk) 19:28, 27 January 2018 (UTC)

This is a second request to show your source for mismatch rates. Also, in searching for it, I did find this. JPL banned. I was not involved in this discussion (though I should have been), but JPL has been determined to be a problem. Trackinfo (talk) 21:19, 27 January 2018 (UTC)
- I appreciate your passion about that editor, however, as I noted previously, it's just not something that interests me. I'd suggest your bring up any issues you think might exist with him at ANI as there's nothing I can really do to help you, I'm afraid. Take care. Chetsford (talk) 21:39, 27 January 2018 (UTC)

Here. Did you see the picture the editor added? --NeilN talk to me 07:11, 28 January 2018 (UTC)
