Commentary for Centibite regarding Vinhod Khosla wiki
editHi mate, I respect (and knew it was coming) your edit to revert the Vinhod Khosla page to a more neutral reading, but I stand by my temporary vandalism. The guy is a complete turd and another unfortunate example of the dearth facing all us commoners. Carry on though with patrolling Wikipedia for vigilantes like me. Respectfully, 72.227.186.199 (talk) 02:47, 23 February 2018 (UTC)
Your deletion
editYou just deleted a see also that was totally appropriate. Please restore it. That is precisely what see also is for. Their should be self explanatory why it is appropriate - both players quit mid-season in MLB because the game was no longer fun. Please help the project. Don’t destroy it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 108.30.185.11 (talk) 02:53, 4 March 2018 (UTC)

Advice
editYou do not need consensus at a talk page to start another AFD. The editor you are discussing with -- BabbaQ -- votes keep 97% of the time; basically, his rationale for inclusion is: "does it exist?". Do not try convincing him, just do what you think follows policy.TheGracefulSlick (talk) 16:24, 12 March 2018 (UTC)
- User:TheGracefulSlick Thank you for providing some context to this debate. I do believe I will open another AfD soon; I don't really understand why people think that this article should be kept as-is. Are there just several dedicated inclusionists in this debate? Centibyte(talk) 16:33, 12 March 2018 (UTC)
- Iridescent's explanation of why they wrote the article at their talk page may have helped you understand. Did you even read that before nominating again?--Pawnkingthree (talk) 17:15, 12 March 2018 (UTC)
- I just looked at it. I'm still not sure that Lynch and her accomplices did anything that suggests that she needs to be in Wikipedia. I would think that Welsh women of greater importance would be mentioned somewhere; we simply need to find sources that discuss them. Centibyte(talk) 17:22, 12 March 2018 (UTC)
- How about you write the articles you miss, and let others write the articles they miss? We are all volunteers, and you are are challenging my patience. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 17:29, 12 March 2018 (UTC)
- I second that. BabbaQ (talk) 17:55, 12 March 2018 (UTC)

- Centibyte, to answer your question, the article will probably be kept because: 1) not enough editors understand historical/contemporary documents are primary sources and 2) it is well-written so "why the hell not"? I am sorry you are coming out of this looking like a bad guy; sometimes editors cannot step back and look at things from a different perspective.TheGracefulSlick (talk) 19:01, 12 March 2018 (UTC)
- Thank you. :) Centibyte(talk) 19:07, 12 March 2018 (UTC)
- Adding my 2 cents here - it would have been more prudent to have waited a week (or a month or two) prior to renominating. I share your concerns on this being completely non-policy compliant - it shouldn't be a close call (and it seems it will be) - building articles off of 2-3 line police/court blotter reports in a local newspaper and a few pages in a self-published book (that mainly collected on commented on these - leading to all sorts of reliability issues (e.g. is this the same person? Or a collage of different people named the same?)) - flies in the face of every notability guideline and policy. However - the right crowd to argue this in front of would've been AfD regulars. At the moment - you have a large number of main page followers (that got to the first discussion randomly yesterday), and people who follow Iridescent's talk-page. This voting demographic does not bode well for an AfD - particularly for a well-written, well-illustrated, and well-researched (for what there is) article - ILIKEIT votes dominate in such a situation (and some of them are coated with policy rationales that may be spurious - but are hard to discount by a closing admin (and I will note that in large AfDs, often a raw headcount dominates the close over policy evaluations)).Icewhiz (talk) 07:50, 13 March 2018 (UTC)
- Thank you. :) Centibyte(talk) 19:07, 12 March 2018 (UTC)
- Another piece of advice this comment is maybe a bit insensitive given that the creator of the article is one of our most respected administrators and content contributors on things related to the 19th century UK. Regardless of the notability status "attacking" anyone's articles, especially someone who has done so much for the encyclopedia, is likely to put a bad taste in people's mouths. I'm not participating in the AfD as I closed the first one, but I think you should be a bit more tactful. TonyBallioni (talk) 14:05, 14 March 2018 (UTC)
- @TonyBallioni: You're completely right; I crossed the line there. I'll revert the edit. My sincere apologies. :) Centibyte(talk) 14:07, 14 March 2018 (UTC)
- This entire debate has gotten completely out of hand. I apologize to everyone involved. Centibyte(talk) 14:09, 14 March 2018 (UTC)
Hi, Centibyte. I've noticed the comments above. Tagging pages and/or sending the to AfD is something that needs a lot of experience, especially as you don't have the various user rights that help with this kind of work. Why not first work your way up through them, such as first enrolling at the WP:CVUA for example, where you can learn more about it? Patrolling new pages is a very complex affair requiring an in-depth knowledge of policies and guidelines as you will see from WP:NPP. There's a user right for that too at WP:NPR, but you would at least need to have the required number of edits and additionally demonstrate the required knowledge and activity. Knowing more about Wikipedia would enable you to make objective comments at an RfC such as ACTRIAL - about a Wikipedia which you had not edited before the trial took place. If you need any help, don't hesitate to ask me on my talk page. Happy editing! Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 06:59, 20 March 2018 (UTC)
- I apologize if this question is bluntly phrased, but are you asking me to refrain from participating in policy debates until I gain more experience? Centibyte(talk) 12:55, 20 March 2018 (UTC)
- FYI, the policy about renominations is explained at WP:DELAFD which states "* Renominations: After a deletion debate concludes and there is no consensus or the consensus is in favor of keeping the page, users should allow a reasonable amount of time to pass before nominating the same page for deletion again, to give editors the time to improve the page. Renominations shortly after the earlier debate are generally closed quickly. It can be disruptive to repeatedly nominate a page in the hope of getting a different outcome." WP:STICK isn't policy but is worth reading too as it makes a commonsense point that is generally accepted. Andrew D. (talk) 13:52, 20 March 2018 (UTC)

Rollback granted
editHi Centibyte. After reviewing your request for "rollbacker", I have enabled rollback on your account. Keep in mind these things when going to use rollback:
- Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle.
- Rollback should be used to revert clear cases of vandalism only, and not good faith edits.
- Rollback should never be used to edit war.
- If abused, rollback rights can be revoked.
- Use common sense.
If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Wikipedia:Administrators' guide/Rollback (even though you're not an admin). I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into troubles or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Thank you for helping to reduce vandalism. Happy editing! TonyBallioni (talk) 20:01, 23 March 2018 (UTC)

Hello, Centibyte. I wanted to let you know that I’m proposing an article that you started, Repetier-Host, for deletion because I don't think it meets our criteria for inclusion. If you don't want the article deleted:
- edit the page
- remove the text that looks like this:
{{proposed deletion/dated...}}
- save the page
Also, be sure to explain why you think the article should be kept in your edit summary or on the article's talk page. If you don't do so, it may be deleted later anyway.
You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions.

ArbCom 2018 election voter message
editHello, Centibyte. Voting in the 2018 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23.59 on Sunday, 3 December. All users who registered an account before Sunday, 28 October 2018, made at least 150 mainspace edits before Thursday, 1 November 2018 and are not currently blocked are eligible to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.
The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
If you wish to participate in the 2018 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 18:42, 19 November 2018 (UTC)

You've been unsubscribed from the Feedback Request Service
editHi Centibyte! You're receiving this notification because you were previously subscribed to the Feedback Request Service, but you haven't made any edits to the English Wikipedia in over two years.
In order to declutter the Feedback Request Service list, and to produce a greater chance of active users being randomly selected to receive invitations to contribute, you've been unsubscribed, along with all other users who have made no edits in two years or more.
You do not need to do anything about this - if you are happy to not receive Feedback Request Service messages, thank you very much for your contributions in the past, and this will be the last you hear from the service. If, however, you would like to resubscribe yourself, you can follow the below instructions to do so:
- Go to the Feedback Request Service page.
- Decide which categories are of interest to you, under the RfC and/or GA headings.
- Paste
{{Frs user|Centibyte|limit}}
underneath the relevant heading(s), where limit is the maximum number of requests you wish to receive for that category per month. - Publish the page.
If you've just come back after a wikibreak and are seeing this message, welcome back! You can follow the above instructions to re-activate your subscription. Likewise, if this is an alternate account, please consider subscribing your main account in much the same way.
Note that if you had a rename and left your old name subscribed to the FRS, you may be receiving this message on your new username's talk page still. If so, make sure your new account name is subscribed to the FRS, using the same procedure mentioned above.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask on the Feedback Request Service talk page, or on the Feedback Request Service bot's operator's talk page. Thank you! Message delivered to you with love by Yapperbot :) | Is this wrong? Contact my bot operator. | Sent at 18:05, 10 May 2021 (UTC)
