Chandigarh

Hey, I was curious about this edit [1] in which you changed the 76% figure for Hindi to 67.76%. I took a look at the Excel file and divided the total number of Hindi speakers by the 2011 Indian census figures and got 73.6%. Hi, thanks for taking the time to look through my edit. Normally you'd be right; we both used data from the same Excel sheet. It's just that 73.6% is calculated by using total Hindi speakers (Hindi and all its variants, even those recognized as separate languages such as Bhojpuri, Pahari, Garhwali, etc.) whereas 67.76% is more accurate as it represents Hindi only. This is what is prevalent in the districts that I've checked so far. If this isn't the accepted standard, please let me know. Thanks again. --Cartophilic (talk) 08:33, 30 September 2023 (UTC)
