Total deaths

Hello. Thank you for your work as always.

I found new highly reliable information about estimated Palestinian deaths that is likely of interest for you to help add to various pages if it is accepted.

Thanks also for your work, David. This looks really valuable. Glad you found it and thanks for pinging me. CarmenEsparzaAmoux (talk) 04:48, 17 October 2024 (UTC)
No problem at all. David A (talk) 06:40, 17 October 2024 (UTC)
As you can see, I was allowed to add it, so I have done so to the most relevant pages that I know about, but I am not sure if I did so in an accurate manner, so structural cleanup help is always very appreciated. David A (talk) 09:07, 17 October 2024 (UTC)

Invitation to participate in a research

Hello,

The Wikimedia Foundation is conducting a survey of Wikipedians to better understand what draws administrators to contribute to Wikipedia, and what affects administrator retention. We will use this research to improve experiences for Wikipedians, and address common problems and needs. We have identified you as a good candidate for this research, and would greatly appreciate your participation in this anonymous survey.

You do not have to be an Administrator to participate.

The survey should take around 10-15 minutes to complete. You may read more about the study on its Meta page and view its privacy statement .

Please find our contact on the project Meta page if you have any questions or concerns.

Kind Regards,

WMF Research Team

Administrator Noticeboard Notice (October 2024)

There is currently a discussion at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents regarding an issue with which you may have been involved. Thank you.The Weather Event Writer (Talk Page) 04:28, 27 October 2024 (UTC)

Introduction to contentious topics

You have recently edited a page related to the Arab–Israeli conflict, a topic designated as contentious. This is a brief introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.

A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia’s norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have an expanded level of powers and discretion in order to reduce disruption to the project.

Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:

Additionally, you must be logged-in, have 500 edits and an account age of 30 days, and are not allowed to make more than 1 revert within 24 hours on a page within this topic.

Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures, you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic here. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template.

Arbitration case request

You are involved in a recently filed request for arbitration. Please review the request at Wikipedia:Arbitration/Requests/Case#Covert canvassing and proxying in the Israel-Arab conflict topic area and, if you wish to do so, enter your statement and any other material you wish to submit to the Arbitration Committee. As threaded discussion is not permitted on most arbitration pages, please ensure that you make all comments in your own section only. Additionally, the guide to arbitration and the Arbitration Committee's procedures may be of use.

Blocked as a sockpuppet

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for abusing multiple accounts as a sockpuppet of User:Jpesch95 per the evidence presented at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Jpesch95. Note that multiple accounts are allowed, but not for illegitimate reasons, and any contributions made while evading blocks or bans may be reverted or deleted.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please review Wikipedia's guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text to the bottom of your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  Girth Summit (blether) 16:53, 7 November 2024 (UTC)

Reply to your email

Hi - I received your email, thank you for sending that. As I set out on my user page, I tend not to reply to emails from people whom I don't already know, and in those cases I reply on users' talk pages. When the user in question is a blocked sockpuppeteer, I am less inclined to deviate from that rule, and since you still have access to this talk page (and those of your other accounts), I think it is better that we keep any correspondence onwiki.

The email you sent me included a number of statements about your past which do not align with the publicly available facts about your activity here. For example, you said that you created this account in 2022, with the intention of sticking to the straight and narrow from that point on. That is not true. You created this account on 26 December 2021, while you were still using several different accounts on enwiki. When those accounts were blocked in March of 2022, you waited a couple of weeks, and then started to use this account to evade those blocks. You also say that you did not know that there ways to appeal blocks; I can't comment on what you knew or did not know, but every block notice you have received (I think we're up to 12 now?) has had information on how to appeal blocks.

See WP:OVERSIGHT, which might be of interest. You can email the team if necessary.

With regards to any future potential unblock request, I would advise you to check your facts carefully, ensure that you are accurate in any assertions you make, and be honest about what you have done. Best wishes Girth Summit (blether) 21:22, 9 November 2024 (UTC)
