Accusations of Vandalism

Please make yourself aware of the Vandalism guidelines before accusing another editor of vandalism. Just disagreeing with their edits is not enough. Also be aware that accusations can bite you back, unfounded accusations regarding a user you disagree with may be seen as gaming the system and cause you, not the subject of your accusation, to receive sanctions. Closing AfD

Under no circumstances can an involved user (one who has edited the article or commented in the AfD) close an AfD. Under almost no circumstances may an AfD be closed earlier than 7 days (none of which come even close to applying here). Attempting to close an AfD early is extremely disruptive. Furthermore, none of those edits were vandalism. Wikipedia has a very strict definition of vandalism, which can be found at WP:VANDAL. The quick summary is that vandalism refers only to actions specifically intended to damage the project. Note, for instance, this paragraph: "Even if misguided, willfully against consensus, or disruptive, any good-faith effort to improve the encyclopedia is not vandalism. Edit warring over content is not vandalism. Careful consideration may be required to differentiate between edits that are beneficial, detrimental but well-intentioned, and vandalizing. Mislabelling good-faith edits as vandalism can be considered harmful." The policy gives a long list of specific examples of what are or are not vandalism.

I apologize I did not know. I read the circumstances for a speedy keep, and I felt and still feel that the edits made by Metal.lunchbox are vandalism, not to mention that he is harassing me. I really feel that making false statements and failing to mention certain facts is never done with a good intention. I do feel like things said to me are harassment, why would the user reply to everything I say and rudely if he's so confident in his opinion? Also, duffbeerforme responded to an accusation of wikistalking by saying: "Nope, not stalking you, such a ridiculous accusation (stalking based on participating in one afd) is a personal attack. And when I get round to nominating Sektor 304 for deletion it will still not be stalking." I'm sorry if he really isn't tracking my every move why would he say that? He and Metal.lunchbox have both attacked multiple articles I have edited or created. I didn't lie, I really felt that vandalism was done, and I have been attack personally. Maybe I'm paranoid, but the evidence is there that certain editors are coming after me as an editor.BusyWikipedian (talk) 15:22, 15 August 2011 (UTC)

Others as well as myself have warned you and your apparent puppets about accusations of lying, vandalism, and harassment. You have already tried to take this issue to Administrator intervention against vandalism and were told that my edits did not constitute vandalism. Consider this your last warning. BusyWikipedian, Metal.lunchbox's edits are not vandalism. Vandalism is writing "I love JUSTIN BEIBER" or "poopoopoopoo" in an article. Or changing the height and weight of an athlete without any reason. Or adding intentionally false statements to articles. Nominating something for deletion basically cannot be vandalism. It could be disruption, but that only occurs when the person known that the article is legitimate but nominates it anyway. It is clear that Metal.lunchbox honestly believes that Dethcentrik does not meet our WP:BAND#notability guidelines for bands, based upon a claim that the sources provided either don't meet the reliable sources guidelines or don't speak about the band in depth. Now, I have not, nor will I be, actually looking into the accuracy of that claim. But the claim is made in good faith and thus is not vandalism. Also, if you have already raised the issue of stalking on ANI, and were told you're not being stalked, then you should drop the issue. Note that there is nothing wrong with saying "This person has written an article that doesn't seem to match our guidelines; I think I'm going to check on their history and see if that's true for other things they wrote"; the stalking policy, in fact, explicitly says that. Again, it's not "attacking" an article to be making sure that it meets our guidelines. Finally, one thing you should note is this, which is a problem I often see with fans getting heavily involved in writing articles on local bands that they like: the vast vast majority of bands in existence cannot have Wikipedia articles written about them, because they simply aren't notable in the sense that we define notability. This includes bands with great local followings, that play lots of gigs (sometimes even in multiple places across the country), sometimes even that release albums (depending on how the album is produced and released). This is just like the fact that the vast majority of companies are not notable enough for articles, and only a tiny percentage of people are notable enough for articles.

Having said all of that, if you want help in trying to get better at writing articles, let me know--I'd be happy to help. It sounds like what might be best is for you to do some work in your own userspace (creating drafts of articles) and having someone knowledgeable evaluating them before trying to put them into main space. This might help you avoid the pain of deletion discussions, by being told up front whether or not something is likely to survive such a process. Wikipedia needs the help of people with detailed knowledge of specific subjects, so if you need help channeling your energies and learning how our processes work, I can certainly do so. Tell you what, if any of the articles are in fact deleted, I would personally like them placed in my userspace, and I will edit them until they are worthy of placement on Wikipedia. I know there are more sources on the topic, and I would be willing to completely revamp the article. And I will consult you or other admins as to whether the sources are notable before using them. Hi Busy. A quick look at the edit history of and articles created by someone is not stalking, that is how I saw Sektor 304. Feel free to have a look at mine. I saw that Dethcentrik was nominated for deletin at Wikipedia:WikiProject Deletion sorting/Bands and musicians and recognised it as an article I was considering afding before you started editing with your current account. You are the one that followed me into the other three afds we have both participated in (note that 3 is > 1 and I have not accused you of stalking). Your paranoia and persecution complex does not help your cause. Your constant unfound accusations reflect poorly on you. duffbeerforme (talk) 12:42, 16 August 2011 (UTC)

Outing another user is a serious no-no

See WP:outing, your outing of user Slayer8899 is a form of harassment that is taken quite seriously. That you then added some of the offending material back after i removed it and the numerous personal attacks you have made previously show a willful disregard of the basic user conduct policies. I will be reporting this immediately to ANI, requesting that they block you and all associated IP addresses indefinitely. By your logic him calling me "the Dethcentrik guy" is outing, so why aren't you mentioning it to him? It's because he sides with you is it not? As long as someone sides you you they can break Wikipedia policy correct? You gave his full name, that was so blatant I could not let it slide. I considered removing his remarks but thought it just sounded like speculation based on your edits. Besides which, when you say "I" above, are you acknowledging that you are using multiple accounts? I didn't realize my IP had shown, I have been logged in, I seriously have been. And in fact, all comments that showed that IP have been re-signed by me, I owned them, and yes, I seriously have been signed in and it does that. If you want to accuse me of sock puppetry because you intentionally use Wikipedia to abuse it's policies, its users, it's articles, and everything it stands for go ahead. If you look at the pages there could be multiple comments from me, but not multiple votes. You realize I care enough about my integrity on here that I stay up late trying to resolve this? I have insomnia anyway, and yes, to the point I can't even read and am hallucinating, and you by all means knowing you're angering me which is why you persist. I honestly wish you had respect for other human beings, and didn't abuse power in your favor. You like to ruin people's health to get sick kicks knowing it physically and mentally hurts them, which is harassment. I'm sorry ruing people's lives here means so much to you, and I'm sorry that my integrity as an author means so much to me. Check my IPs, you won't see one that has voted more than once. I told you I was up late, and yes I have serious mental illness, which is evident, and you sir use it to make harassment so much more sweet for yourself. Guess what? The deletion discussion has my admission, and when I'm hallucinating I copy/paste and look up those users, you aren't harassing by Wikipedia standards, but by legal standards. And while no I can't take legal action because of what's done on Wikipedia, I hope you feel rotten for intentionally being hateful against a group of people. I am duly sorry for accusing you of such connections. And yes, it has kept me up at night to the point my insomnia has cause hallucinations, my paranoia has been extremely high, and I have been psychically sick. I apologize for accusations made against you, and I understand no matter who agrees with you or I, it's not necessarily personal. I do pride my knowledge in subjects and my ability to write about them, and I'm literally fearful Slayer8899 and his friends are going to attack anything I do just to hurt me. BusyWikipedian, after looking at this discussion, I am very, very tempted to outright block you. You outed another editor; I suppose you can claim you didn't know that that is a problem, but now you should know that giving any real life information about anyone that they have not revealed on Wikipedia is strictly forbidden. Always. Furthermore, your admission above that you wrote a note to yourself as an IP to me makes it very hard to trust that you aren't editing as other IPs (for example, on the AfD). I understand about forgetting to log in, or even thinking your logged in but having the server log you out. But the encouraging edit to yourself looks like a clear attempt to distinguish between your 189... identity and your BusyWikipedian identity; anyone reading that comment is bound to assume that those are two separate editors. And, of course, there was your closing the AfD early; you say that you misunderstood the Speedy Keep rationale, but for me to believe that, I have to believe that you read and understood one very small, specific portion of the policy on deletion discussions, but misunderstood almost all of the rest. None of this damning evidence, but it all points to you willfully editing in poor ways. I know that this stems for your enthusiasm for the subject; what I can't tell is if your enthusiasm really is causing you to rush and make poor judgments, or if your enthusiasm is causing you to intentionally misconstrue policy and edit disruptively. At this point, consider this a final warning. Your behavior from now on needs to be impeccable, because you've about used up my good faith in your contributions to Wikipedia.

But let me take a different tone as well. If Wikipedia is causing or worsening real life problems (your self-identified mental illness, harassment from other people), then there's a very obvious solution: stop. Wikipedia is not going to collapse whether you stay or go. If these bands that you are working on are really notable, then, some day, they will have an article in Wikipedia. If they aren't, then trying to force through the issue by using dubious sources or sources that only barely mention them isn't going to help. There is never any reason for Wikipedia to harm your real life; this is a hobby, a volunteer project, not a job or a life and death situation. Please seriously consider whether your editing here is actually worth it for your health. I'm not going to block you because I think you're making a bad choice by doing something you know is hurting you, but I do think you should think long and hard whether this is the right thing for you. I informed Metal.lunchbox that I will be taking a cool-down. I sincerely do want you to run a checkuser to prove all those edit are not in fact me. And the harassment will continue in real life regardless of Wikipedia use, which is why I mentioned this will be handled outside Wikipedia. I always take pride in my work, and with personal attacks actually occurring in real life, I am a little more inclined to feel personally attacked anywhere I go, in life and online. I do want to contribute knowledge, but you're right the consequences I'm paying right now are very severe. I have made what I feel are sincere points on AfD, but I also feel that if I do not take a break now I may make a fool of myself. If you can somehow block user:Slayer8899 from contacting me on Wikipedia, I would much appreciate it. I will take care of the real life harassment, as is my responsibility. Good to see things improving. BusyWikipedian, I checked Slayer888's contributions, and so far, xe has basically only contributed to two AfDs; while the comment towards you on the AfD is an assumption of bad faith, it's technically still within the bounds of a civil comment. I will attempt to monitor xyr contributions; however, if at any point there is on-wiki harrassment, please tell me immediately and I will do my best to make it stop. Going to xyr now, pre-emptively, would more likely make the situation worse, especially off-wiki. I hope your break helps you sort out your problems. I noticed that you removed the speedy deletion tag from The Rust Punk Tribe, so I replaced it. Please keep in mind that it's generally considered inappropriate to remove such tags from pages you've created yourself. If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

• make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or

According to WP:MUSIC a band consisting of two or more members of other notable ensembles is enough for notability, this band has more than twice that. It may not have been your intention, but you're attempting to circumvent a required AfD, I can remove the tag after fixing the article. You are correct that a criterion of WP:NBAND does establish Iniquitous as a notable band, hence, I am sorry for making it for speedy deletion.
