Bristus
Unblock request
editThis user account seems to be trapped in a IP block that I instituted (we've been communicating by email). I am unable to ascertain the IP address involved. Can another admin lend a hand? --Bobak (talk) 19:12, 6 July 2009 (UTC)
- Trapped? I don't see why there should be. You blocked the underlying IP, and did so properly (anon only, account creation blocked); it's obviously not affecting User:Bristus, since he's been editing. --jpgordon::==( o ) 19:34, 6 July 2009 (UTC)
- I've seen something like this occur before, where a legitimate account gets collateral damage from an IP block --but it was very early in my time here (before I became an Admin). Here are his comments "I was trying to make a comment on the MRAP discussion page but it won't let me and once made a referral to you blocking my account for vandalism. I signed out and signed back in and it still wouldn't work on that page, although it did let me post a follow-up on another page I had made a comment on." That was his second to last edit. Because I don't know what IP he's coming from I don't know where to take a look. Any suggestions? --Bobak (talk) 20:47, 6 July 2009 (UTC)
- Not really. He's been editing. When did he complain he couldn't? --jpgordon::==( o ) 21:03, 6 July 2009 (UTC)
- He emailed me since he's edited. What's with this skepticism? Why don't you believe me, exactly? --Bobak (talk) 21:42, 6 July 2009 (UTC)
- Not skepticism -- trying to figure out the timeline of what's going on. I'm not supposed to publicly expose underlying IPs of accounts; however, if he's being autoblocked for some reason, he'll have the IP at hand. Checkuser doesn't show any autoblocks that could be relevant. Ask him to tell you the whole message he's getting. --jpgordon::==( o ) 22:07, 6 July 2009 (UTC)

If you're still blocked, please follow the instructions below. Thanks. -- Netsnipe ► 02:18, 7 July 2009 (UTC)
Clearing an autoblock
Due to the nature of the block applied we need additional information before we can decide whether to unblock you. It is very likely that you are not personally blocked. If you are prevented from editing, it may be because you are autoblocked or blocked because of your IP address. Without further details there is nothing further we can do to review or lift your block. Please follow these instructions:
- If you have a Wikipedia account, please ensure that you are logged in.
Your account name will be visible in the top right of this page if you are.
If it isn't, try bypassing your web browser's cache. - Try to edit the Sandbox.
- If you are still blocked, copy the {{unblock-ip|...}} code generated for you under the "IP blocked?" section. This is usually hidden within the "What do I do now?" section. If so, just click the "[show]" link to the right hand side to show this text.
- Paste the code at the bottom of your user talk page and click save.
If you are not blocked from editing the sandbox then the autoblock on your IP address has already expired and you can resume editing.
