Animal running speeds
editHi there. Thank you for adding the top running speeds to animal articles. However, the English in your contributions is not of a sufficient standard to be helpful to readers. Please consider making your additions to a Wikipedia which is of your own language (The French Wikipedia?), or be more careful in your editing here.
As an example, you could write "The animal's maximum running speed is around X to X km/h". Thank you. Sillyfolkboy (talk) (edits) 20:35, 11 May 2009 (UTC)
ok, ...thank you !
Your recent edits
editHi there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. If you can't type the tilde character, you should click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! --SineBot (talk) 11:52, 21 May 2009 (UTC)
Always add references
editHello Angel310! Regarding the animal top speeds you have been adding to articles, adding content without citing a reliable source is not consistent with our policy of verifiability. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. If you are familiar with Wikipedia:Citing sources, please take this opportunity to add references to the articles you have edited. --Tombstone (talk) 16:01, 1 July 2009 (UTC)

editWelcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, talk pages are meant to be a record of a discussion; deleting or editing legitimate comments, as you did at Christina Aguilera, is considered bad practice, even if you meant well. editWelcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. One of the core policies of Wikipedia is that articles should always be written from a neutral point of view. Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute to the encyclopedia, but when you add or change content, please cite a reliable source for your addition. This helps maintain our policy of verifiability. See Wikipedia:Citing sources for how to cite sources, and the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Thousands separator, English grammar
editHi Angel. I'm impressed by your English, as it is clearly not your first language. One or two small things though:
In English text the conventional thousands separator is either a comma or a space (240,000 or 240 000). A full stop (.) is not used, as this is used instead for the decimal point (eg 0.75 l).
Gender-specific pronouns ("he", "she" etc) are reserved in English for male or female people or animals (though boats and countries are sometimes called "she"). All other nouns have neutral gender, and "it" etc are used. Where the sex of a person is not known, a plural pronoun is often used ("a thief stole my wallet but they did not get my keys").
The plural of many animals is the same as the singular (deer, sheep, trout, cod, bison etc). There is no fixed rule for which animals have such plurals, but they are generally those of a type that could in principle be hunted. Usage may be inconsistent in less familiar species, and both forms may sometimes be used in different circumstances ("he shot two elephant", but "they photographed many elephants"). Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute to the encyclopedia, but when you add or change content, as you did to the article Sable Antelope, please cite a reliable source for your addition. This helps maintain our policy of verifiability. See Wikipedia:Citing sources for how to cite sources, and the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. SummerPhD (talk) 02:51, 24 July 2011 (UTC)
Please do not add or change content without verifying it by citing reliable sources, as you did to Beautiful (Christina Aguilera song). Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. SummerPhD (talk) 15:27, 25 July 2011 (UTC)
Please do not add unsourced content, as you did to Genie in a Bottle. This contravenes Wikipedia's policy on verifiability. If you continue to do so, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. SummerPhD (talk) 21:30, 31 July 2011 (UTC)

editWelcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, talk pages are meant to be a record of a discussion; deleting or editing legitimate comments, as you did at Talk:Bionic (Christina Aguilera album), is considered bad practice, even if you meant well. Even making spelling and grammatical corrections in others' comments is generally frowned upon, as it tends to irritate the users whose comments you are correcting. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. SummerPhD (talk) 04:38, 11 August 2011 (UTC)
Welcome to Wikipedia! I am glad to see you are interested in discussing a topic. However, as a general rule, talk pages such as Talk:Bionic (Christina Aguilera album) are for discussion related to improving the article, not general discussion about the topic. If you have specific questions about certain topics, consider visiting our reference desk and asking them there instead of on article talk pages. Thank you. SummerPhD (talk) 04:39, 11 August 2011 (UTC)
This is your last warning. The next time you vandalize Wikipedia, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. DMacks (talk) 15:36, 11 August 2011 (UTC)
Comments
editThat final warning (above) is for vandalizing my talk page while adding a comment. Reverting the vandalism also removed your comment. If you have something to discuss with me, you will need to ask again. - SummerPhD (talk) 16:19, 11 August 2011 (UTC)
- Note that the vandalism was part of a pattern across multiple pages despite recent warnings, not just this specific talk-page edit. DMacks (talk) 17:06, 11 August 2011 (UTC)
Individual performances of a song
editRe your edits to Beautiful (Christina Aguilera song): Individual performances of a song are generally considered to be too trivial to list in an article unless they have been meaningfully discussed in independent reliable sources. Otherwise, particularly well-known songs by popular artists would have absurdly long articles listing hundreds of concert venues, TV shows, etc. Thanks. - SummerPhD (talk) 15:07, 12 September 2011 (UTC)
