I wasn't trying to vandalize the article or destroy User:The Filmaker fantastic work; it's just that it's been established, through sources like The New Essential Chronology, that A New Hope is 19 years after Revenge of the Sith. I didn't think it would be such a big deal to everyone. I was wrong.

A request

edit

Hello. I have worked for some time in an article about an important figure in my country's history, which I had nominated for Good Article status. Sadly, my nomination failed, and I had nominated it again but it has been placed on hold. In order to deal with one of the issues for which the article was placed on hold, I wrote a section entirely in Spanish.

Well, this is the point: I have been searching for users with an advanced level of Spanish in order to translate that part, and I found out your userpage. It says that you can contribute with a professional level of Spanish. So I wanted to know if you please could translate that section for me; it is made of three somewhat long paragraphs. 63.3.2.2

edit

I was reviewing 63.3.2.2 when you came along and blocked the anon for 3 days. However, I could not see any blatant vandalism in the contrib for the past few days. There wasn't any vandalism after User:Netkinetic's warning, and the same edit fixed a wikilink to avoid a redirect. Maybe I am assuming too good faith, but since the IP is simple a MCI/Worldcom internet address, it is most likely shared (possibly dial up). So I am contacting you to see if I missed anything (I'm relatively new to all this, so I'm trying to learn as much as I can through observing others and testing admin tasks out for myself). Thanks for your consideration.-Andrew c [talk] 21:48, 7 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

A lobby of editors are trying to provoke me for a edit war.

edit

They are removing cited articles http://en.wiki.x.io/w/index.php?title=Pranava_Veda&diff=next&oldid=143660034

I tried to put the same at Veda but they took off the same. Now I created a separate page. They are taking that off too. BalanceRestored 08:35, 10 July 2007 (UTC)~Reply

Thanks for your attention "Do you mean that they are removing cited articles by redirecting them? That's what they've done at both articles you showed me, but it's correct. All it means is that there already is an article that covers the topic (at least in a section), so it is redirected there. That way, when someone types in or links Pranava Veda,", Yes I was trying to create this Pranava Veda that is being followed by us Vishwabrahmins for 1000's of years. I created the article that talked about the Pranava Veda and cited valuable references for the same. But, since it is not heard about by general public in India, all the editors started to delete the reference from the Veda page. I got banned some time before, as I was new to editing, and again I was editing something controversy and I did not know to handle things. But then slowly I learned all the methods of editing and also understood how to edit. But again, the article itself is getting redirected even where there are valid references for the same. Now my problem is I can be easily targeted and I have been let to edit only on the condition that I will do one edit per article. If I edit the second time, other editors will delete my edit or redirect and expect me to provoke so that I am again permanently banned. I really do not know how to edit in these situations. Some how I am careful not to edit twice. I do not know what is the problem if I edit about the Pranava Veda which is cited.

1. There is another narration "Pranava Veda, a Sanscrit work used in the East" found at

  • Psychic Science April 1931 to January 1932
  • ISBN 1417978155
  • Published 2004 Kessinger Publishing
  • New Age / Parapsychology
  • Page 17

2. By Mysore (India : State),

  • "Mysore State Gazetteer:", Printed by the Director of Print.,
  • Stationery and Publications at the Govt. Press, Page 220
  • Clearly says that the Vishwabrahmins/Panchals do follow this veda

I do not understand why this kind of response from other editors.

I serious did not understand the reason why something that is clearly stated should not be mentioned. If I talk about the same even in the talk page, I get warnings about being a Vandal. It is really surprising me.BalanceRestored 10:24, 10 July 2007 (UTC) BalanceRestored 10:24, 10 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Well, if Pranava Veda is redirected to Aum, could you not add a section about Pranava Veda in that article? I think that would be the best thing to do. Since you say you've been banned, you should discuss it on the talk page of that article. By the way, why can you only edit once per article? Did WP:ARBCOM say that? ... thanks a lot... I never could have realized that in my entire life by myself. I am sure that will be taken off too. I will tell you what happensBalanceRestored 10:34, 10 July 2007 (UTC)Reply
FYI=just see these.
The first citation I mentioned :::http://books.google.com/books?id=aTKdRF79a8UC&pg=PA17&ots=-LLKf-Nd-P&dq=%22Pranava+Veda%22&sig=jb8mwdqTMtwTz5w11UzSPW0iTHQ
(Updated the link, it was the wrong link at the first)
The second citation I mentioned
http://books.google.com/books?id=n40BAAAAMAAJ&q=%22Pranava+Veda%22&dq=%22Pranava+Veda%22&pgis=1
Now if you had these citations with you clearly visible. The second citation is from Gov Press of India by a Gazetteer, and if editors ignored the same what would you have done. BalanceRestored 10:40, 10 July 2007 (UTC)Reply
One more editor (Dbachmann) started to find the details behind this Veda. The problem is that most of the citations are in Tamil language. I will learn Tamil and start working on this. Also, the article seems to be getting noticed. I will surely keep you in touch. Thanks from my heart to have taken your valuable time. BalanceRestored 11:17, 11 July 2007 (UTC)Reply
I've offered to get adopted. I think it is better that I be under an able guidance before I edit on my own.BalanceRestored 11:16, 17 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

re: user:Marsmanhu

Hey... you blocked this user and immediately unblocked him? Why? Doing so removed the report from AIV, and based on his edits, I really am pretty sure he's a sock of user:JJonz. What did you mean to do, if you didn't mean to block? Gscshoyru 13:01, 11 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

(Sorry for the late response). I reverted my block because Marsmanhu had not vandalized, and the sockpuppetry is suspected, not confirmed. If you are 100% sure that he is a sock, then feel free to re-add him to AIV. · AndonicO Talk 17:37, 11 August 2007 (UTC)Reply
Yeah... you have a point. I'm about 95% sure or so... I'll add him to the sock report that's been sitting there for a week, as another sock, and wait for the block. He's being somewhat disruptive, but as you said, I don't have absolute proof, so I'll let the admins decide. I will keep an eye on him though... Gscshoyru 17:46, 11 August 2007 (UTC)Reply
