I noticed you have been editing some health-related articles recently. A bunch of us hang out at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Medicine, and you're welcome to join us. It's also a good place to ask questions about finding good sources for medical content or writing style. Feel free to put it on your watchlist, or stop by to say hello some time. Sure, I'd be happy to know more about contributing on wikipedia and what sources to use. It's only recently that I have begun editing, so I only add links for articles currently. Would sure want to get to the next level. I've been reading all sorts of guidelines recently, but it's giving me an impression that editing other than adding links on wikipedia is kinda hard and if you make a mistake you'll be reported and flagged. That's also why I didn't try adding information in any article. I feel it is a very high risk job since everybody uses the pages for school, college, etc.
So, can you adopt me?(need to know how that works as well, I've only read it when I got welcome message)
I'd be very grateful to have somebody to ask my questions to. Also, thanks a lot for informing me about the medicine wikiproject. AnalyserOP (talk) 06:00, 15 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
I've heard about the Wikipedia:Adopt-a-user program, but I don't know much about it. When I was a new editor, I found that reading the WikiProject pages was more useful than connecting with a single editor. That way, if one person was out, someone else would be around to answer questions.
What subject areas interest you the most? WhatamIdoing (talk) 06:06, 15 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
Oh okay, I'll start reading them.
My areas of interest are
everything STEM, philosophy, transportation, arts and entertainment, and with regions, Asia, Europe and North America. AnalyserOP (talk) 06:25, 15 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
Here are some groups that might interest you:
I don't know if any of the regional groups are very active. Also, you can look at the top of the talk page for any favorite subject, and see what groups have tagged it.
If you are looking for articles, then SuggestBot will look at the articles you've already edited and give you a list of other articles that you might be interested in. WhatamIdoing (talk) 18:17, 15 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
Oh, that's great! Thank you so much!
I'll do everything you suggested and start contributing information soon.
Thank you once again for helping a new editor like me!
Sorry but one last thing, if I'll have any doubt anymore, I'd have to ask it in your talk page right? AnalyserOP (talk) 20:16, 15 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
You don't have to ask on my talk page. You can ask questions on all kinds of pages: any editor's talk page, at the WP:Teahouse, on the talk page for an WikiProject, on the article talk pages, even (depending on the kind of question) at one of the WP:Village pumps or one of the many Wikipedia:Noticeboards. This is a huge community, so there are lots of ways to reach people. WhatamIdoing (talk) 18:08, 16 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
Oh yeahh got it. Thanks. AnalyserOP (talk) 22:14, 16 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
