ABOUT ME:
I am a History Professor at Rice University in Houston, Texas, USA. I am involved in the Program in Poverty, Justice and Human Capabilities. One of the main projects in the PJHC is to engage with Wikipedia as a learning tool and to improve resources on Wikipedia by doing research and working on articles. I participate in Rice PJHC 's regular Wikipedia Edit-a-thons with Rice students, alum, and supporters.
I am also involved in the Museums and Cultural Heritage program at Rice University. I teach classes on museums and cultrual heritage, particularly in the USA and South Africa.
I am interested in topics of slavery and human trafficking globally. I'm also interested in racial disparities in education, culture, legal rights, and public health in the United States.
My research and teaching are in Museums and Cultural Heritage, World history, South African history, Southeast Asian history and Indian Ocean history.
