Vinay Ambegaokar is an Indian-American theoretical physicist, known for his contributions to the field of condensed matter physics. He is the Goldwin Smith Professor of Physics Emeritus at the University of Cornell[1]. He has also written a book titled Reasoning about Luck: Probability and its Uses in Physics, which is aimed at a nonscience audience and describes the use of probability theory in physics[2].
