Muttah Suresh
editA tag has been placed on Muttah Suresh, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done for the following reason:
Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as an appropriate article, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is appropriate, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}}
on the top of the page and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.
For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Crusio (talk) 15:34, 24 November 2007 (UTC)
writting
editWe write in a dispassionate factual style. The campus is 600 acres and has excellent views is wrong. "the campus is 600 acres" is right. you can find out more at WP:MOS --Fredrick day (talk) 10:59, 21 February 2008 (UTC)
Image copyright problem with Image:Ausgate.jpg
editThank you for uploading Image:Ausgate.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Nilfanion (talk) 01:59, 24 March 2008 (UTC)
Deletion of Krishanu Dey
editHi, I was in the middle of creating the page for Krishanu Dey, who was one of India's best football players. But before I could complete the page, you took the liberty of deleting the page. Why? Is it simply because as an administrator you enjoy administrative rights like the Chinese communist party?Shovon 20:20, 19 April 2008 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Shovon76 (talk • contribs)
- Thank you for your message. In future please use ~~~~ to sign your message.
- If you'd run through my message wizard like the box at the top of this page suggested, you would have got to Wikipedia:Why was my page deleted?, which would have pointed you to the deletion log entry, which would tell you that Krishanu Dey was deleted under criterion 3 of Articles at Wikipedia:Criteria for speedy deletion, which is that the article had no substantive content. It consisted only of templates. Articles on Wikipedia are required to have actual text content.
- While Wikipedia welcomes stub articles, a minimum of a few sentences is required. If you would like to work on an article, consider creating a user subpage before moving it when it is ready.
- Regarding your last sentence, please read Wikipedia:Civility. Stifle (talk) 20:38, 19 April 2008 (UTC)
- Hey, Sorry about the last line. Actually I was pretty off with my cellular service provider and their call center operators, and probably that had a trickle down effect on the message I left you. In any case, thanks for the suggestion for creating a subpage. Shovon 21:20, 19 April 2008 (UTC)
71.62.176.110
editI removed your report from WP:AIV of 71.62.176.110 because the IP only had one warning today. Please only report if a vandal has been warned with at least 3 levels (one of which has to be the final warning). The warnings must be within the last 24 hours as well. Rgoodermote 18:27, 26 April 2008 (UTC)
- Does not matter the IP was not warned and I already knew about those. But as it stands only one warning was received. Even if there was more vandalism the IP must be warned not to do it. Because it was not warned it did not know about the reverts and did not know they were a problem. The warnings are designed specifically to convince the vandal to stop. The warnings also serve another purpose to tell us when it is appropriate to block or not. As it did not receive all 4 or at least 3 (as long as the final warning is in place 3 is except able) warnings an admin will not block. Rgoodermote 20:01, 26 April 2008 (UTC)
- O and before I forget please start signing your signature using four Tilda's like the example next to this~~~~Rgoodermote 21:23, 26 April 2008 (UTC)
Notability
editHi there, this is a historic jail and i'm just trying to gather as much information as i can on it. I keep adding articles relating to Hyderabad continuously. Even a siimple google news search on it will give you an idea of its notability. Thanks for your message, i really appreciate for checking with me. Randhirreddy 09:33, 28 April 2008 (UTC)
Burma
editConsidering that quite a bit of the international community does not recognize the name Myanmar when refering to Burma it is most certainly not vandalism to replace the (incorrect) name with the traditional (correct) name. Therefore I'd challenge your assertation that changing "Myanmar" to "Burma" is vandalism and would further suggest that an argument would be equally valid that changing "Burma" to "Myanmar" constitutes vandalism. 64.201.173.189 (talk) 20:40, 1 May 2008 (UTC)
The name "Myanmar" can only be considered an official name if you accept that the de-facto rulers of Burma are a legitimate government and thus entitled to make official naming changes. As the international community largely does not recognize the junta as a legitimate government it makes the issue of the "official" name of Burma rather more opaque than simply "the government says it is this so..." 64.201.173.189 (talk) 15:03, 2 May 2008 (UTC)
I consider your recent changes regarding the burma / myanmar issues constitute vandalism, not my edits. I have tried to compromise with the burma (otherwise known as myanmar) solution. Since you refuse to compromise if you continue I will report you for vandalism. 64.201.173.189 (talk) 15:57, 8 May 2008 (UTC)
Burma (otherwise known as Myanmar) was my compromise suggestion. Burma / Myanmar would also be acceptable. 64.201.173.189 (talk) 16:09, 8 May 2008 (UTC)

User's Reply
editUser: Political Dweeb here thanks Shovon for giving what I think is a reasonable reply to my question. I am interested in other types of political parties of any ideologies from countries in America, Britain, Cambodia, Japan etc. I do also like political parties from India and their political party logos so if you'd like I could try to find sources of Indian political party websites with their logos and try and give some of them to you to put up on some Wikipedia pages on Indian political parties.Political Dweeb (talk)
By Vyaghra dhataki on BJP I like to advise not to interfere with people's rights. wikipedia is certainly not created for nasty pro-BJP propoganda which you seemingly endorse. It is also not some thing like an orkut or an internet mailing community. I certainly wish that wikipedia not be used by partisan groups to conduct malicious propoganda and spresd lies. I have taken this up with wikipedia top heads an also with international security agencies for an alleged manipulation. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Vyaghradhataki (talk • contribs) 12:32, 3 May 2008 (UTC)
On Bjp: Mr.shovon malik, In each and every line of my piece on BJP i have been very conspicuous. In fact my reference to the well known kanchi case should serve you. We have further evidences. If you are so enthusiastic about nasty BJP then you should be able to take their personnel for narco analysis and suck out truth,if the liars did not beat the computer and technology. I like to make a few points: 1. Any kind of partisan activity and hate spewing in name of god or otherwise will be countered effectively. 2.BJP does not own wikipedia for its campaign and its activities need be checked.
Thanks again. But i do get ominous signals about usage of internet for malicious lie filled propoganda. -Vyaghra —Preceding unsigned comment added by Vyaghradhataki (talk • contribs) 12:46, 4 May 2008 (UTC)

Could you please explain more fully?
editCould you please explain more fully why you tagged Mohammed Abdullah Azam for speedy deletion? Geo Swan (talk) 18:17, 4 May 2008 (UTC)
- I encourage you to place your talk page entries under appropriate titles.
- I responded on Talk:Mohammed Abdullah Azam.
- I encourage you to re-read the criteria for speedy deletion, and Wikipedia:Proposed deletion. Geo Swan (talk) 18:51, 4 May 2008 (UTC)
- Hey, welcome to Wikipedia :) Requests for speedy deletion can be removed by any "third party" (ie, not the creator of the article) if they believe the subject does not satisfy the CSD. In this case, I believe anyone convicted of terrorism is assumed notable by default, and you would have to prove otherwise before an administrative hearing called an AfD. Sherurcij (Speaker for the Dead) 18:52, 4 May 2008 (UTC)
- I am going to repeat my encouragement for you to comply with the deletion policies recommendations of leaving a good-faith heads-up to those who started articles when you nominated them for speedy deletion, provisional deletion, or fully discussed deletion. I noticed you didn't do so, again, when you tagged Vijayalakshmi Navaneethakrishnan.
- The window when someone can respond to a speedy deletion tag is very narrow, only hours long. If you, the person placing the tag, don't honour the deletion policies' recommendation of leaving a courtesy heads-up, they may not discover that the article was deleted until weeks or months later. Trust me, it is maddening. It seriously erodes the good will the wikipedia project requires.
- Personally I believe you should be considering raising your concerns on article's talk page, or using the {{prod}} mechanism, rather than using speedy deletion.
- You left your reply on my talk page. I am moving it here, so the discussion is all in one place:
- In my opinion it erodes the good will necessary for wikipedia to function properly when those placing tags don't leave the courtesy heads-up the policy recommends.
- Leaving aside the question of courtesy, and assuming, for the sake of argument, the reasoning behind your tagging was legitimate, then it would still be much better for the project for you to leave that courtesy heads-up. Remember, you are supposed to assume good faith. You should be assuming that those who prepared the articles you tagged for deletion made their efforts in good faith. When you don't let them know that their contributions are being considered for deletion you are robbing them of the feedback they need in order to learn that their good faith efforts lapse from policy.
- This is a very bad thing.
- By failing to leave the courtesy heads-up you are stripping yourself of the feedback that could clarify your understanding of policy. You are stripping yourself from the feedback from which you could learn when you are are applying tags in error.
- Here is some of that feedback. You are far too hasty. You are not allowing those who prepared the material you tagged to address whatever concern you had. Remember, the policy is that your decision on whether an article should be deleted should be based on whether the topic merits coverage, not on the current state of the article.
- I am going to repeat myself. I urge you, in the strongest possible terms, to honour the recommendations in the deletion policy, and to leave a courtesy heads-up for every single instance.
- I spent over an hour working on the article on Mohammed Abdullah Azam before you tagged it. It is just luck that I saw you tagged it. Your tag was indefensible. Speedy deletion tags should only be used when you are confident everyone would concur with your judgment.
- When you have a concern you can't, in good faith, trust would be universally shared, you should raise your concern on the article's talk page, or, possibly, place a {{prod}} tag on it.
- Maybe you think I already made my point, and you are wondering why I am repeating myself? It is because you have not shown any willingness to consider that your efforts have been misplaced, and, I saw in your contribution history, that you were continuing to place speedy tags without honouring the policies' recommendations. Geo Swan (talk) 13:57, 9 May 2008 (UTC)
Confusing use of edit summaries
editI've noticed that you make a confusing use of edit summaries. You add your comments at the end of previously existing sections of talk pages, add a new section heading, to that talk page. But you don't change the automatically added edit summary.
That is very confusing. Your readers should be able to look at the edit summaries of your contributions, and get an idea as to what you wrote about from it.
This edit summary says: "DYK: question". This edit summary says: "Two new images".
Both are confusing. As a simple courtesy to other readers, I am going to ask you exercise greater care.
There is a button to the right of the edit button at the top of talk pages, that prompts you for the edit summary of the new section you are adding, and adds it as the heading of the new section. I strongly encourage you to consider using it. Geo Swan (talk) 19:10, 4 May 2008 (UTC)

editMR Shovon , I have enough proofs that ICFAI currently do not have permissions from DEC.
1. I have called to Mr Raj Gopal ( Dean of SSD) of ICFAI to conform, according to him, ICFAI have applied for DEC approval.
2. I have raised a RTI ( Right to Information Act ) application to DEC about status of ICFAI approval, haven't got any response.
3. I have personally met Management Officers of IGNOU ( DEC ) in Pune university about status of ICFAI . the answer I Got from a double Ph.d teacher in his own words " those bastards are using ICFAI Hyd name to sell MBA, they don't even have permission from UGC or DEC, just want to make money @#$@$#@%$#$%&^$ ..... "
4. Mr M.Khan "ICFAI Business Development Manager West India" him self told me that it will take 2+ years to get DEC permission.
( I don't know from where you are, But in India any School or University is treated as temple, and expected to behave as one, and not as Business )
Do you want any other proof or should I give you there phone numbers to conform.
5. If ICFAI have DEC approval why don't they put a copy on there web site ??
Retrieved from "http://en.wiki.x.io/wiki/User:Shovon76"
Mr Shovon76
Have you Read the full text on the link given by you? (Yes, I have. but it seems, you do not understand English.) the Provisional certificate is not for ICFAI tripura to sell MBA,
The Provisional certificate is for ICFAI Hyd for full and part time MBA in Hyd Muncipal limits OK, ( Read all the documents ) "Is it, really? Where do you get your information from?" which means , ICFAI is wrong in selling MBA , ( I have won the consumer court case , They have returned my money )"I have told you earlier also. Please tell me the number of the case and the name of the Court. But, it seems you do not have any. That's because you are a fictitous account. I will report you for blocking if I can get full proof Shovon (talk) 18:54, 8 May 2008 (UTC)
Any way forget about all these things,
Simple as a user of Wiki , Can we allow ICFAI to use our web site (public web site) as a platform for there Advertising , the answer is NO NO NO,
I am Removing the "Courses offered" part because it is advertising., (cherry on the top misleading Adds ).
By any standers Wiki can not be used to Advatise products ( fake products ). —Preceding unsigned comment added by Djj78 (talk • contribs) 05:28, 6 May 2008 (UTC)
For Your Information ICFAI Received DEC approval in 3 or 4th Month of 2008, My case was in 2007,
any way i don't think any university is allowed to advertise "Courses offered" in WikiPedia. this is not a billboard, this is a Information board ( well kind of )
Removing "Courses offered" , now before reverting my changes , please give reason why should Wikipedia carry Information about "Courses offered". ( they are minting money from poor students ) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Djj78 (talk • contribs) 06:01, 21 May 2008 (UTC)
Thanks for a balance page on ICFAI
editNow the page on ICFAI is pretty balance , Thanks,
I didn't had time to update wiki with proofs ( sorry mails from SSD ICFAI can not be taken as proof )
any way I am encouraging very senior Professors of Pune university and IIM Ahmadabad to create there thought's ;) on ICFAI into a blog on there blog pages.
then I will add links to those blogs in Wikipedia.
Also about "Grapes gone Sore",
Well actually this is a care of "After paying for Grapes , found Grapes are rotten , so went back to shop , slaped the shopkeeper , got money back" and now I am just trying to save other poor students like me not to fall in trap : )
will keep updating about ICFAI, and its frauds.
(Point here to be noted is ICFAI received DEC approval in March 2008, and they are selling MBA from last 5 years ?? which makes all present students illegal ) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Djj78 (talk • contribs) 06:37, 21 May 2008 (UTC)

Removing tags from own site
editHi Shovam. This is Anil Aggrawal, from New Delhi. I appreciate the interest you are taking in my pages and my contributions.
The reason I removed these tags, was because each one of these articles have been there on Wikipedia for many months, and no Wikipedian contested the validity of these pages being there.
I think you will agree that if every Wikipedia editor kept adding such tags at any time during the life of an article, no article would be safe in Wikipedia.
In my humble opinion, there should be some limitation period for putting these tags, i.e. if during that period no Wikipedia editor has introduced a tag, then that article earns the right to be there.
Obviously all articles will not be of the likings of all Wikipedians and differences of opinion will always remain.
Yours respectfully
You are a thorough gentleman Shovan
editMy Dear Shovan,
You are indeed one of the finest people I met, and who immediately won my heart with your humbleness and great culture.
I agree with all of your points.
No you are not taking any panga with me. I do realize what you wrote is correct.
I do not wish to God that anyone - least of all you - come under my scalpel. I do a very thankless job (my tagline is "Many people ask me why you chose forensic medicine as a career, and I tell them it is because they approach you when the top doctors have failed!")
People come to us in really great distress; when they have lost their near and dear ones. No, certainly not, I do not want anyone to come under my scalp.
Sorry, if I gave you any pain. I never meant to.
Yours respectfully.

Hi, and welcome to the India WikiProject! We're a group of editors working to improve Wikipedia's coverage of India.
A few features that you might find helpful:
- Please participate in any of our descendant workgroups that might interest you.
- The project has a bimonthly newsletter; it will normally be delivered in its entirety, but several other formats are available.
There are a variety of interesting things to do within the project; you're free to participate however much—or little—you like:
- Want to know how good our articles are? The assessment department is working on rating the quality of every India article in Wikipedia.
- Can you code? The automation department uses automated and semi-automated methods to perform batch tasks that would be tedious to do manually.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask another fellow member, and we'll be happy to help you. Again, welcome! We look forward to seeing you around! -- TinuCherian (Wanna Talk?) - 04:38, 18 May 2008 (UTC)

Patrolling new pages
editHi there! Great to see a fellow new page patroller. You may want to patrol from the start of the list though, there's a HUGE backlog of pages that have never been patrolled, and are up to 30 days old, plus it's not really fair to assess articles within a couple of minutes of creation.
