Me, Myself and I

edit

First I must thank User:Eleland as this is my first daring foray into the magical and amazing world of Wikipedia and my user page is a derivation of his.

My first encounters with wikipedia were in the latter days of my work at University where this amazing little know it all site kept popping up with what looked like good answers to the questions I was asking Google.

Then, in 2006, my girlfriend and I tried to write an entry about a small charity for which we occasionally volunteer. Our first post was deleted within minutes. We were quite upset but then had a good root around in the community guidelines and decided that we had better better prepare what we were trying to say. That first post is still like a pride and joy.

Almost a year on and I am hopeful that I will be competent enough to join this marvelous project. My goal is to post about subject areas that I am well versed and familiar and I see that no other posts have been submitted. I anticipate that I am in for a steep learning curve ahead.

Brilliant!!!

I am quite busy re-structuring and helping to organise the CFD-Wiki. Hopefully it will soon begin to be substantial enough to cross migrate with wikipedia

How to make your watchlist easier to read

If you use Firefox, there is a user script you can install called Watchlist sorter.

This script sorts your watchlist by namespace, and adds spaces within each entry. This makes the watchlist much easier to read.

To install the script, copy/paste the following line into your your common.js page. This will install the script across all your skins.

importScript("User:The Transhumanist/WatchlistSorter.js");

Note: After saving, you have to Bypass your cache. To do this in Firefox, hold down the Shift key while clicking Reload (or press Ctrl+Shift+R). Or, you may have to {{purge}} the Wikipedia server cache.

To add this auto-updating template to your user page, use {{totd}}
