I'm an engineer with a Ph.D. and work in the computer industry (therefore I can perform surgery, but only on radios and other silicon-based life forms).
I'm also an active amateur radio ("ham radio") enthusiast, originally licensed in 1969. I'm an amateur writer too, I suppose, having published some technical papers that are also grammatically correct (mostly), but am still learning how to use a comma. I suppose that means I'm an amateur amateur radio writer.
