I am a dilettante contributor to Wikipedia

edit

Unlike some contributors to Wikipedia, I have a life. As a result, I do not access Wikipedia regularly, and I do not maintain this page on a regular basis. Comments, insults or other contacts with me here may not be noted for a long time.

I'm sorry about that, particularly if you have spent time phrasing a deeply-felt and hurtful insult for me. (If you did, same to you, with knobs on.)

No, dear, I am not a sock puppet or troll for whoever is currently your most hated contributor to Wikipedia. I am real. Deal with it. If in doubt, I suggest you check the article on paranoia.

I am a highly educated and well-read person. I have a wide ranging knowledge of many subjects, from law to history to finance to certain card games to Irish affairs to ...(continued page 94). However, I'm much too lazy to write articles. I am a dilettante, with insufficient interest in doing anything more than correcting errors and adding a paragraph here and there.

If I do correct your article then I will try to leave a note for you in the discussion page, unless the correction speaks for itself.

What's Lucan? Lucan was formerly a small village outside the city of Dublin, Ireland. It is now a substantial suburb of the city. A good place to live, in a pleasant country.

  • And yes, I do know that it should be "for whomever" above. Greater minds than you understand that sometimes you must break the rules of grammar, to avoid pedantry and for the sake of better flow. Get a life.

I speak Hiberno-English, but write English. (That is English, not USAian.) My Irish, French and Spanish were never fluent and have weakened through lack of use in recent years. I've said Level 1, but it would be Level 2 if I used them more often. I also have a smattering of Latin, ancient Greek and Russian.
