Patientforeningen Hiv-Danmark (Union of People Living With HIV (PLHIV) in Denmark) was founded in 1991 as a result of people dying from AIDS through the early eighties. It is managed by the annual assembly who elects a board consisting of people living with HIV and relatives.
Goals: Hiv-Danmark aims and wishes to:
- offer counselling to PLHIV and their relatives in the region of Denmark.
- counter discrimination of PLHIV.
- initiate relevant actions in the benefit of PLHIV, relatives and survivers or those left behind.
- to cooperate with public and private organisations on affairs to better the lives of PLHIV
- to exchange experiences with PLHIV and international organisationsat througout the world.
- support developments on dignifiying human rights and conditions in countries outside Denmark, and continuesly to contribute with constructive solutions in every aspect of cooperational activities.
