Patientforeningen Hiv-Danmark (Union of People Living With HIV (PLHIV) in Denmark) was founded in 1991 as a result of people dying from AIDS through the early eighties. It is managed by the annual assembly who elects a board consisting of people living with HIV and relatives.

Goals: Hiv-Danmark aims and wishes to:

offer counselling to PLHIV and their relatives in the region of Denmark.
counter discrimination of PLHIV.
initiate relevant actions in the benefit of PLHIV, relatives and survivers or those left behind.
to cooperate with public and private organisations on affairs to better the lives of PLHIV
to exchange experiences with PLHIV and international organisationsat througout the world.
support developments on dignifiying human rights and conditions in countries outside Denmark, and continuesly to contribute with constructive solutions in every aspect of cooperational activities.
