editLocated in the south-western part of Joso City, the entire area is known as the Joso New Town Kinu-no-Sato district. It is the newest and still developing part of the area where the Joso New Town opening ceremony took place. Shira-kashi Street runs through the centre of the district, and Sakura Street runs through the southern part, with most of the area being a residential area consisting mainly of detached houses. There are industrial areas to the north of Shira-kashi Street and on the western edge of the ward. In addition, a community agreement known as the "Kinu-no-Sato Flower Town Initiative" has been signed to promote the greening of residential areas.
The nearest station is Kokinu Station in Tsukubamirai City, which is about 900 to 1500 metres away. There are few connections to the centre of Joso City, which tends to be more connected to the neighbouring cities of Tsukubamirai and Moriya, so the city's primary and secondary schools, town hall and library are further away than those in Tsukubamirai and Moriya.
