I am a multidisciplinary scientist at the University of Connecticut (UConn Health in Farmington, Connecticut ). See my professional home page , and my photography page .
My first degree was in biochemistry and my Ph.D. in computational biology . I have been a professor of computer science and cell biology . I combine knowledge from all of these fields under the umbrella of systems biology . In science I am known for having developed software for simulation of biochemical networks (Gepasi[ 1] and COPASI [ 2] ). Areas of science that I have researched include computer simulation methods, metabolism , biological network inference , oxidative stress , iron metabolism , enzyme kinetics , protein synthesis , flavonoid biosynthesis in plants (particularly isoflavonoids ), mathematical optimization , biological databases and data standards.
I am also an amateur photographer , a motorsports enthusiast, and a strong supporter of electric vehicles .
My University is not at all involved in what I do on Wikipedia.
