The Embassy of Moldova (commonly referred to as the Moldovan Embassy) in Israel is located in Tel Aviv and is the chief diplomatic mission of Moldova in Israel. The Moldovan Embassy's role in Israel is to maintain and develop relations between Moldova and Israel. [1]
The embassy promotes Moldova’s security, prosperity and well-being, and regional peace, through partnership with Israel. The embassy deals with political, commercial, security and economic questions of interest to Moldova and Israel and provides consular assistance to Moldovan nationals residing or traveling within Israel. [2]
It is located on 21 Leonardo da Vinci Street in the centre area of the city Tel Aviv. [3]
History
editIsrael recognized the independence of Moldova on December 25, 1991, and established diplomatic relations with the Republic of Moldova on June 22, 1992.
Current Ambassador
editOn December 1st, 2015, Moldova appointed Her Excellency Mrs. Gabriela Moraru as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Moldova to the State of Israel. [4] [5]
Upon appointment Ambassador Moraru released the following statement: "Together with the team of the Embassy, we will continue our endeavors to strengthening this bilateral relationship in different areas of cooperation, in particular, by preserving the positive dynamics of political bilateral dialogue, and contributing to trade broadening and cultural dialogue diversity. Our main goal is to promote the democratic values of our state, to defend the rights and interests of Moldovan residents on the territory of Israel, to respect the role played by the community of Jews, who have their roots from Moldova, in deepening bilateral relations. In this regard, are welcomed any ideas, suggestions or proposals aimed at achieving jointly projects to the benefit of both countries." [6]
