Charlesworth Wetland Reserve Charlesworth Wetland Reserve is a 20 hectare of remnant salt marsh on the edge of the Avon Heathcote Estuary. The area was modified by draining and infilling to allow for stock grazing. Since 1991 the Christchurch City Council has been restoring the natural habitat and in 2005 the wetland was officially opened as a reserve.
