Nitro Neo McCartney
Neo McCartney (born September 26[1], 2007), also known as Nitro Neo is a young rising motocross star from Derby, England. His motocross career began in 2014 when he ranked 5th in the CJMX Club Championship.
Biography
editPersonal Life
editNitro Neo became fascinated with motorbikes from a very young age and is the first biker in his family. His father decided to buy him his first bike, a Honda CRF50, when he was just 5 years old. Neo made his motocross debut when he ranked third in the 2013/2014 CJMX Winter Championship[2] where he raced his KTM 50SX mini[3]. Neo's skill, determination and hard work surprised his father and a year later Neo "needed" a "race bike". Neo's passion and attitude towards the sport took the motocross scene by surprise and that has earned him his Nitro Neo[4] title.

Racing Career
editNeo’s parents noticed his interest and early fascination of motorbikes and bought him his first little motorbike when he was 5 years old (2014). Two years later, even though Neo had a few nasty falls on the track, he needed a racing bike and they bought him a KTM 50 SX.
Neo raced with Coventry Junior Motorcycle Club, one of the few clubs to cater for racers of his tender young age. Halfway through the season he was ranked third in the club’s championship.
Neo is a very determined young lad and gives 100% at each motocross training session. Besides training for motocross six days a week, Neo also goes trampolining on Tuesday’s, which help with his co-ordination and balance; swimming on Thursday’s to help with his stamina; karate on Friday’s, which help with stamina as well; and then he races the weekend.[5]
Neo moved up to the Junior 65cc MX group in 2016 where he is the youngest competitor.
Charity Work
editNeo is kind hearted and always tries to be a good role model to other young people. Neo had the idea to help children in hospital after seeing a story on television and launched the #NitroAid charity.
In 2014 Neo bought 180 Easter Eggs for Derbyshire Children's Hospital using the money he won at a motocross race. In 2015, along with [Sainsbury], Neo quadrupled that and gathered 742 Easter Eggs for Charity during Nitro Neo's Eggstravaganza weekend.
Derby Telegraph and Intu Derby named him “Local Hero” for all his hard work and dedication. He was also selected to turn on the Christmas lights at Intu for all his hard work and dedication.
