BitterGrey is a pseudonym used by the editor of one of the oldest websites on paraphilic infantilism. Originally known as BitterGrey's Den, Understanding.Infantilism.Org opened in 1995.

In 2006, he became involved in Wikipedia, donating text from a then newly developed article, "An AB/DL Primer" and later, some references found while updating the article "What is Infantilism?" to help rebuild the recently stubbed paraphilic infantilism article. Even five years later, most references in the Wikipedia article on paraphilic infantilism were from that source.

The same is also true of the diaper fetishism article, which borrowed text and references from the paraphilic infantilism article.

Given this connection, it isn't surprising that some editors with disagreements against BitterGrey from unrelated areas of Wikipedia end up deleting material from the paraphilic infantilism and related articles. Discouragingly, this set is not limited to vandals and novices, but includes users with moderately high edit counts, professionals, and administrators. What these editors might not consider is that in effect, BitterGrey's contributions to paraphilic infantilism and other Wikipedia articles were good-faith donations to a competitor. By disrupting, vandalizing, etc., these editors are actually improving understanding.infantilism.org's competitive position. They are only hurting Wikipedia.

edit

For a year, the wikihounding was such that I couldn't meaningfully edit. Even talkpage comments were opportunities for retribution (eg [1][2][3]), and there was a dedicated anti-BitterGrey SPA. The RFC/U against me never opened for input from uninvolved editors: Those accusing me even edited "my" response section[4]. Any who came along later wouldn't get the full story, since talk page comments were also being deleted(eg [5][6][7]). I was then blocked indefinitely by an ex-admin who contradicted himself about his reasons. The aborted RFC/U festered for two years, a poisoning of the well visible even outside of Wikipedia.

I had hoped that time would give a fresh start. The admin reviewing my block was willing to communicate, permitting us to resolve misunderstandings. However, another admin and the blocking ex-admin were not. Whatever their motivations are, their unwillingness to communicate ended any hope of a fresh start.

Since this might be my last statement on Wikipedia, I'd like to add one regret. By enduring wikihounding, I briefly protected other editors. When I saw another editor being bullied and denied the ability to edit merely because he had a medical condition (eg [8]), I spoke up. This is what set that last chain of events in motion. I do not regret speaking up, but I do regret that I haven't been and won't be able to protect other editors. Wikipedia is no longer a place where anyone can edit.
