AthleteTimeline is used to summarise the seasons or major events of an athlete's or team's career or participation in a regular series of events, which are documented elsewhere on Wikipedia.
The template may be used by using the following basic format

The parameter and capitalisation must match the Wikipedia pages for that series

The year of the athlete's first full or half season
e.g. debutYear=1980

The name of the athlete as it should display in the template output

Displays a racket to symbolise the current season for racket sports and events.

Displays a boot to symbolise the current season for footballs, field sports and running.
If used, the following parameter should be retired=no
