I am a political science major at Rice University, concentrating in international relations. I am passionate about many facets of social justice, but I hold particular interests in education, immigrant and refugee rights, and domestic violence - especially that against children, and I hope to investigate topics in these fields and contribute to the public's understanding of them. In my free time, I like to read, play sports, and cook.
I am planning to edit the article on the hukou system:
The hukou system in China is essentially a form of institutionalized deprivation. It is a major factor contributing to inequality in wellbeing between urban and rural Chinese citizens. I would like to expand upon the existing article. This would include providing a more comprehensive description of its history, evolution, implementation, and reform, as well as how it has entrenched and aggravated inequalities particularly in health, education, and income.
