Early life
editHamilton attended high school at Pickerington Central. Coming out of high school, Hamilton was rated as a three-star prospect.[1] Hamilton held offers from schools such as Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Michigan State, Minnesota, Ohio State, Penn State, Pittsburgh, Purdue, Vanderbilt, Wake Forest, West Virginia.[2] Hamilton ultimately committed to play college football for the Ohio State Buckeyes.[3][4]
College career
editAs a true freshman, Hamilton made appearances against Nebraska and Rutgers, registering no stats.[5] Taking on a larger role in 2021 as a redshirt freshmen, he tallied 13 tackles with two being for a loss, two sacks, a pass deflection, and a fumble recovery.[6] In week ten of the 2022 season, Hamilton got his first career start versus Northwestern where he had three tackles.[7] Hamilton finished the 2022 season with 19 tackles, with half a tackle being for a loss, half a sack, and a pass deflection.[8] In the 2023 season, Hamilton was named honorable mention all Big Ten.[9] In his final year of eligibility in 2024, he set a career high in combined tackles (40), sacks (2.5) and forced fumbles (1).[10] He was also named a Reese's Senior Bowl Midseason All-American on the defensive line.[11]
Personal life
editHamilton is the younger brother of current NFL defensive lineman, DaVon Hamilton.[12][13]
