Propose Infobox academic
editThe is a very useful infobox and is high adaptable due to it's basis on "Infobox person". However I find that often Christian scholars and academics are not precisely served by this infobox as they cannot formally be identified as "theologians" as such (i.e. with a large body of original or influencial thought - i.e Calvin, C.S. Lewis, Von Rad, etc.).
So my thought is we could use the Template:Infobox scholar - but that seems to be deficient in the areas of positions head, occupation, influenced_by, influences_who?, more personal detail that you get in "person" or this one ("theologian").
So alternatively we could remodel "scholar" in the form of "theologian" - obviously with adjustments. Or move easily "clone" this infobox and make a new "Template:Infobox academic". This would take some of the approach this infobox (i.e. based on "person") and a blend of content from "theologian" and "scholar".
It would also have to add some generic form of elements of theologian. This would be more in the style of "scholar" which is not tied to a particular discipline.
Thoughts. :: Kevinalewis : (Talk Page)/(Desk) 08:39, 15 October 2015 (UTC)
To give some idea of my thinking - here is a mock up of a possible set of parameters.
{{Infobox academic | honorific_prefix = | name = | honorific_suffix = | native_name = | native_name_lang = | image = | image_size = | alt = | caption = | birth_name = <!-- Use only if different from full/othernames --> | birth_date = <!-- {{Birth date and age|YYYY|MM|DD}} For living people supply only the year unless the exact date is already WIDELY published, as per [[WP:DOB]]. --> | birth_place = | death_date = <!-- {{Death date and age|YYYY|MM|DD|YYYY|MM|DD}} (death date then birth date) --> | death_place = | death_cause = | region = | nationality = | period = | workplaces = | occupation = | spouse = | children = | signature = | signature_alt = | signature_size = | era = | language = | discipline = <!-- Major academic discipline - e.g. Physicist, Sociologist, New Testament scholar, Ancient Near Eastern Linguist --> | sub_discipline = <!-- Academic discipline specialist area - e.g. Sub-atomic research, 20th Century Danish specialist, Pauline research, Arcadian and Ugaritic specialist --> | movement = <!-- Should match the idiologial movement or denomination (for religious), "school" of thought etc. (e.g. "Anglican", "Postmodernist", "Socialist" or "Green" etc. --> | religion = <!-- Religion should be supported with a citation from a reliable source --> | education = | alma_mater = <!-- will often consist of the linked name of the last-attended higher education institution. --> | thesis_title = | thesis_url = | thesis_year = | doctoral_advisor = | doctoral_students = | notable_students = | main_interests = | notable_works = | notable_ideas = | influences = | influenced = | awards = | website = }}
Which is a blend of "theologian" (with the religious element downlayed) and "scholar"
