More general use ?

Done, plus added in parameters for audience records. However, I don't want to add in TV rights, as sports are (often) viewed globally, so the list would be far too extensive, esp. for the tri'nations. --Bob 02:49, 5 December 2006 (UTC)

Great work. What about states and locations rather than just countries ? For example in Football (soccer) in Western Australia the field for National Team should probably be changed to Representative Team. --Spewmaster 03:51, 7 December 2006 (UTC)

Club Competitions

For some of the countries/states I am using this template for there are too many club competitions to list. Should this section simply read "major club competitions" ? --Spewmaster 08:14, 20 December 2006 (UTC)

Participation Rate

National team

I have added some code to the template so that if "Association football" is listed as the sport, the national team or representative team will like to "(country) national football team" instead of "(country) national Association football team", as that is how the majority of the national team articles are named. Infobox flag

WP:INFOBOXFLAG says "Generally, flag icons should not be used in infoboxes, even when there is a "country", "nationality" or equivalent field: they are unnecessarily distracting and give undue prominence to one field among many.

Flag icons should only be inserted in infoboxes in those cases where they convey information in addition to the text." However, in this infobox the country is represented only by the flag. The infobox really needs to include the country name and, as per most infoboxes, the flag itself is redundant. --AussieLegend (✉) 17:45, 20 August 2013 (UTC)

Clarification needed

It is very unclear to me what the terms "national", "club" and "international" competitions are supposed to mean in the context of this infobox, and judging by the varying interpretations where it is used, it's not clear to other editors either. --Jellyman (talk) 21:36, 2 August 2018 (UTC)
