Next element down may be wrong

edit

The graphic chart in this template shows the adjacent element in Period 8 as Uhu. However, Extended periodic table (large version) and Extension of the periodic table beyond the seventh period both show this as Unpentennium 159 Upe. Since both options have neither been proven nor standardized, I don't imagine it matters very much yet, but we might want to consider the value of internal consistency as an encyclopedia, and edit either this template or those articles. --KGF0 ( T | C ) 10:56, 30 November 2012 (UTC)Reply

Uhu is correct, due to relativistic effects. The extended periodic tables should be changed to reflect this. (Extended periodic table (large version) already includes the relativistic Pyykkö model, so should be OK, although relativistic models should really be placed before non-relativistic ones, as scientists exclusively use relativistic models for such heavy elements.) Thanks for the clarification. As a lay-person, I figured there might be a good reason one one side or the other, hence my use of Talk: over WP:BOLD. I will leave it to those who understand the current state of research to make the relevant updates. --KGF0 ( T | C ) 21:21, 30 November 2012 (UTC)Reply
